realworksuks vs [Focus] - "LIKE DONKEY KONG, SON!"

I APPRECIATE YOU! I enjoy your posts and others - helps keep me pumped up!

Hahahaha, aww, thanks shaun. I was referring more to the suffering I am going to inflict on myself to provide you with pictures of a scantily-clad JoveGirl. That other stuff I do because I like it. ;)

It's almost go time soon..and it is hot and dry as hell up in hyaw. But I feel amazing. I bet this is how Pinocchio felt after the good fairy turned him into a real boy. Or Megatron, when that ice finally thawed.

..... I AM FOCUSSSSSSS! GRAAAAWR. :SaiyanSmilie_anim: :yelrotflmao:

Pretty sure I'm gonna run this half marathon like a joke today. And come Oct 19th or whatever, delicious sweet eye candy will be ours, my brothers. :luxlove:

Training

Ran 13.1 miles in 2:17:33 @ 10.5mm

Thoughts

It would appear that 10.5mm is my "forever" pace. It was my "5 miles and then collapse" pace a month ago.

Also, running half a marathon on a whim... not the smartest thing, psychologically speaking. Haven't had to dig that deep in a while. And, as Drex just finished pointing out, also very dumb physically.Only thing is, I appear to be 100% fine. Don't try this at home, kids - remember, I'm a mutant who has never been sick or injured in his entire life. Not kidding around here, I really don't recommend anyone do what I just did. Allow me to explain: About 5 miles in, I threw up. It was blue. 9 miles, I threw up again. It was red. 12 miles, I threw up a third time. It was yellow. And almost hit some dude.

Now, the blue was gatorade, though I barely had any.. and I think the red was cherries. But the yellow, that was probably part of an organ I'll need later. So, uh, yeah. Let that be a lesson to you. The only reason I didn't stop was because I have a very, very fragile ego that does not permit me to admit defeat. Let's all try to be more grown up than me. Okay, good talk.

Thanks shaun. :)

So just for fun I took a look, and if I ran last year's event with that time, I would have placed 354th out of 447. Top 80 percent.. Weak.

Gonna see if I can't shave some minutes. Kinda feelin' antsy today, despite being real busy. Might go spend some time on a bike at the gym when I'm near there later.

Also, lol @ my craving shakes after only 1 day in what, 43, of not having them. Just made myself a smoothie, instead of eating the fruit frozen like I usually do.. it's not bad. :) But I think in the future when I get the urge I'll just do a v shake and eat the fruit separately. More satisfying...but a lot more work. Hmmm.

I sprained my ankle while playing basketball yesterday

So my weight loss is on pause at the moment. I realized that if I continued to eat like I am now (with no exercise) I would become a fatty... so I am going to do keto until this thing heals... hopefully soon. It's all swollen and multicolored :drooling1:

I just played video games ALL DAY today. Growlanser Generations... I hadn't tried it before, but I like it a lot.

Drex and I were just having a conversation about that very possibility being the reason we weren't much for bball, haha.

I've been trying to get into Mass Effect, a little, but I can't seem to play regular video games anymore. Too passive. Only DDR and lasertag for me. Oh and paintball, not that that counts.

Heal well. ^_^

Thanks Focus… I SHALL heal well! I am going to lift upper body tonight. I can still do bench press, pull-ups, MAYBE T bar rows and shoulder press… we’ll see what else I can do as well.

Basically everything where I am holding weights standing up is out of the question. I guess I can’t think of any way to get some leg work in… unless I do extensions (which I kinda swore to never do anymore) and leg curls. No presses.

But yeah, I’ll prolly just do upper body, maybe I’ll try extensions.. gotta do what ya gotta do while injured.

I plan to be lifting legs in one week… we’ll see how it goes.

Hey.. btw, what do you mean by normal video games? Do you play MMO's?

Yeah, I would just hit what you can on top and let it be. You might even consider just taking the whole week off. That can be a very good idea if you're been training for a long time without a break.

Hey.. btw, what do you mean by normal video games? Do you play MMO's?

Naw. I did at one point, and got all into it, but eventually got bored. I mean "normal" in the sense of not having some sort of heavy physical interactivity requirement. Like a virtual reality shooter where I actually have to do most of the work (lasertag being the cheap substitute), or DDR, or whatever. ^_^

Yesterday was the greatest gimp workout ever prolly.. ha. I am gonna be lifting legs in no time, I can tell.

Started with some bench bbbbbbaby! Light weight!

Bench press:
135 X 15
155 X 10
185 X 8
205 X 5
225 X 1 (nearly got two! Grat!)

Chin ups:
BW X 20 (I tried to do as many as I could, well this was the number, wow this gives you a pump! Quickest way to get a pump ever!)
35 X 6 (yep, was tired)
Bw X 10

T bar row
70 X 10
95 X 8
105 X 8

Highest I have ever gone on here… two 45’s and 15 extra. I am just gonna keep getting stronger bbbbbaby!

Heh, can you tell I took caffeine today? :p I am happy.

Military Press
95 X 10
105 X 8
115 X 5 (Most I have done is 115 X 1, shattered the record!)

Then I messed around while waiting for my brother to finish, did some abs, some dips… (which hurt my shoulder), some curls (which wrecked my elbow!), and some lateral and rear delts.

How’s that for a gimp workout! Haha, I hadn’t worked out since Friday, and I haven’t taken a two day break like all summer, so I felt POWERFUL and recovered! I am gonna mess with legs today… just to see how it feels, prolly won’t go very heavy at all. Then also I am going to try to do some cardio (incline walking or elliptical) and see how that goes. My injury isn’t very severe at all I don’t think, and I think it will heal on it’s own in time. I am icing it at least daily… still swollen but getting better.

The permalink dun work for you? Okay. I guess I just go back to double-posting. ^_^ I will edit in.

Meh. Too much work. I just paste.

Ran 3.0 miles in 29.5 minutes @ 9.83mm

Thoughts

So this is what it's like to train on a caloric surplus, huh? .... I think I may never "diet" again. Too early to tell. As you can see, I was like a Hulked-out Tyrannosaurus today. Absolutely annihilated last week's numbers.

Also, 3 miles at that pace was a joke. I was nose breathing. Shallowly. It's pretty cool that running 3.0 miles @ 6 mph is less physically strenuous for me now than walking 1.7 miles @ 3.5 mph was 6 weeks ago. Not exaggerating at all. I barely broke a sweat. And my form was so graceful... I felt like Bambi's daddy bounding through the meadow.

Shins were crying all morning, throwing up a big fuss, but once I actually warmed them up a bit with the walking they shut right up. They (and my forearms too) were ****ed like pistols the entire time I was in the gym, but it wasn't a problem.

Well done RWS man!!!!! Gooooood sh1t!

Its weird how my bench numbers are weaker than yours and how my OH pressing isnt. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Good job though :D

how much do you military press? Perhaps we are doing slightly different lifts?

My shoulders are weak. One of my buddies can't bench as much as me, but he can do 135 X 4 with MP.

I have been doing bench since like 7th grade, back then all I did during my workouts was:

leg press
bench press
curls
rows
pullups
calf raises

Maaaaybe some other stuff, but from like 6th to 9th grade that's all I did.. ha. Then I started doing an upper lower split in 10th through 12th grade... it was the way we had to do it in weight training class. Everyone had to do squats too! haha... I hated em. Whoa i'm blabbing.

Training

A1 33" Box Jump 3x8
B1 Speed Squat 45x20x3
C1 Mod Step-Up 30x8/8, 30x8/6, 30x7/7
D1 RDL 225x9, 225x6x2
E1 Cable Crunch 170x15x3

Thoughts

Hopping is harder when you suddenly weigh 15 lbs more, but I'm getting pretty good at it. Speed squats are awesome. I'm pretty much up to the point of being able to do a third-world squat with my feet and hands both narrower than shoulder width and pointed straight ahead. It's amazing how much my flexibility and control are improving every day, and these really help! RDL's I thought I'd go beasty on, as I was feeling perky. Seems about right. Cable crunches I modified a bit to make them harder, but I'm still gonna have to start hanging weight off the stack soon, as it only goes up to 200.

Also, I will post a sample daily intake tomorrow, for food, but I've decided not to do it every day, as I essentially eat the same foods over and over again. I'll be sure to update you all regularly on the numbers, though.

Story time

The astute reader will recall the black squirrel that lives ~ 14th ave and 5th st, that I see once or twice a day on my travels. I've taken to calling him Lindt. Today while walking past Lindt's usual stomping grounds, I notice the little retard trying to eat a reese's peanut butter cups package. So I approach him to take it from him, and he says, "Squeek squeekum sqwerk." That's squirrel for, "No, it are my birthday!" And I said, "Grooooooowwl." That's human for, "Walk away, boy. I will wreck your ****." And I could I see it, there in his eyes - he was prepared to throw down his life for that Reese's Peanut Butter Cups wrapper. And I was sad, because I knew that our friendship had come to an end.

But suddenly, he was distracted by the raucous cry of his nemesis Maggie Magpie. And in the blink of an eye the wrapper and sweet victory were mine! And Lindt, while extremely dejected at the time, has probably already forgotten the whole thing.

Premise 1: I like feeling good.
Premise 2: High-carb diets make me feel good.
Premise 3: Low-carb diets do not make me feel good.
Premise 4: I dislike things that do not make me feel good.

Conclusion: I like High-carb diets; I dislike Low-carb diets.

Also, rws, it's about time to do our one month comparison, hey? I know you've been putting it off because you're scared, but the people are waiting!
