Well you said you were thinking about female Olympic lifters that had forged their buns from tons of squats and power cleans. I didn't realize you were picky. Sheesh.

I really consider these people to be 100% contributorily negligent in their own deaths. It's actually a form of slow suicide. Let's speed the process up a few years ... bullets are cheap. Health care is expensive. From a simple cost/benefit analysis ... well, you see where I'm going with this
I sometimes feel sorry for people who have such things as a thyroid issues and never complain but have a day to day battle with their weight. They get called fat, lazy, slovenly etc and do not bite back. Im not saying that these people on this forum are these people but I think we need to be careful taring everyone with the same brush.

Canada has a show called "The Little Mosque on the Prairie". It's actually quite funny. One of the episodes featured a new convert, who was ripe for the picking for Al Qaeda (you know how converts tend to be a little, well, EXTREME -- salafi comes to mind)? That particular episode was HILARIOUS. The Muslims tried really hard to get rid of this guy because he was screwing up their lives (even the Imam got in on the plot to get rid of him), and eventually they did get rid of the whacko convert. He thought they were all "really bad Muslims" because they liked music and associated with "infidels" (aka, Catholics and other assorted non-Islamic human life forms).
I've known a few Islamic converts who were exactly like that, and that's why the show really made me giggle.
There was another episode about Muslim women trying to find Islamically sanctioned swimsuits. That show was so funny, I had tears streaming down my face. I think you probably have to either be a Muslim or know a lot of Muslims to appreciate the humor.
Anyway, that really doesn't have anything to do with anything, does it?

Granted, these shows aren't exactly CSI or good American TV. But it's a start to break down pre-conceived ideas and the negative media coverage given to Islam/Muslims.
As for listening to music, the way I look at it is if we weren't meant to make music, God wouldn't have given us the ability to do it so well. And so beautifully

I don't see what is wrong with the forum? I mean there is no scientific proof that having a belly is fatal or indication of poor health.... just being alive is 100% fatal and bad health can happen to anyone at any time.
If anything, excessive binge eating and so fort can be an indication of mental illness such as depression, OCD, etc. Sadly, I don't think those are easily curable.
In some culture weight can be an indication of how wealthy you are.

I haven't taken the time to read that forum but from the reactions I assume it's exactly what I thought.
I can't beleive they are doing this.
There should be a law against this.
