Raising The Bar

It was supposed to be HR push today but that support work yesterday killed my shoulders. I suspect it must have been the snatches as I'd never done them before. Squatting was fine though, more advancement there

Another deadlifting setback today, I did some triples at 308 and doubles and singles at 352 and in the process ripped a pretty large bit of skin off one of my fingers, I didn't feel it at the time but it must have been towwrds the end when my grip was failing
In all I think I managed about 14 reps before having to stop because of the raw skin

I did manage some pull ups and rows but I was hindered by my failing grip and stinging hand

I ended up doing back to back sets of bicep curls and dumbell snatches.

I think snatches are going to become my new 'thing'

Yeah, I found some at the weekend but I can't buy anything until payday in about 10 days time. I doubt they'd have much effect at the moment anyway, I removed more skin than I thought, it's even hurt to wash this weekend, the skin has a bit of rebuilding to do
 
OK, felt pretty good today although my weight is dropping a bit, I'm just losing all motivation to eat big, I'm about 233 now and my heaviest was 235 last week

I think my OH lifting has suffered because my shoulders are still recovering from the snatches last week, I'm sure they'll pay off in the long term though

I hate them.. lately they have been annoying the crap out of my shoulder, almost as if I get an inflammation every time. :(
 
Lol, I actually just meant that I suck at them, not that they suck. Although, come to think of it they do suck a little

I'm too caught up in my new love of power snatches to care for pulling on a cable ;)
 
they are pretty fun when you see good progress. I also love the DB snatch.. to bad I haven't done it in a while.. maybe I should..

The claim is that some anti oxidants increase mortality. Does this look like reliable research? My Vitamin A & E intake is high
 
Mixed emotions after that session; I was a bit annoyed with myself after it because I felt I didn't push myself hard enough but I've just looked back in my log at last weeks HR Push day and my numbers are better so that's made me feel a little better.

You might be right though, knowing your company bosses are making a list of who to fire kind of takes your mind away from training a little.

Still, I've just seen that there are still Chris Rock tickets available for May, I'll have to see if any of my credit cards have anything left on them :)

Lol, you are right, thanks for calling me on my lazyness ;)
My plan is that once I get paid I'll pay Tony for another 6 months of his wonderfull training and get him to write me a new plan with 1 hour training sessions in mind to double my workload. The extra time will ensure that I don't have to keep missing bits from my schedule and I could even add little bits if I'm feeling up to it

I'll have to get up at 5.30 to get to the gym before work rather than in my lunch break. It'a gonna take a whole new level of discipline but I need to do it if I want to advance
 
OK, I've decided that this log is going to be scrapped soon as it represents a period of my training that I'm leaving behind. I've requested a new training schedule from Tony and the brief I've given him is that simply reading the plan will be enough to make people cry.

I'm going to start cutting body fat but trying to maintain weight, this will obviously mean building muscle and losing fat which many on here think is impossible but I think that's bull crap, impossible is a word people use after they didn't try hard enough

My diet will be cleaner than I ever thought possible. Nothing that's ever been fried or contains refined sugar will be allowed past my lips.

I'm gonna need a pair of lifting gloves before I start this though, I bought a pair at the weekend, Golds Gym's top of the range gloves in XL and they ripped as soon as I put my hands in them! My gilrfiend chose this moment to inform me that I have 'puffy fingers', I'll get a new pair this weekend :mad:
