POST Your Ride

It's supercharged, and they're still slow :p Even teh John Cooper Works mini is still a mid/high 14 sec car.

actually low 14 sec..but close enough :p

actually it doesnt even break below 15 sec...

The next day we took our test car to the track to see if our experiences on public roads translated to impressive acceleration numbers. Unfortunately, they did not. On a clear 68-degree day at our near-sea level testing facility, the best we could do was 6.9 seconds for zero to 60 mph and 15.3 seconds at 92.2 mph for the quarter-mile.

well everything i know about cars i learned from my boyfriend. i dont actually read about the cars lol hes my car dictionary. anyway, i cant imagine he would be wrong but ill talk to him and find out where he got that. He belongs to like 4 car forums, and has been talking about cars since he was 4. minis happen to be one of the cars he wants so i would assume he knows everything about those especially. ill ask later.

im just saying, if its the stats given by the manufacturer, those arent always the most accurate. If they were, my car should be getting a LOT more gas mileage than it does ;)

well hes not stupid, i doubt he just reads one thing and believes it. he researches all of it. he knows every little detail about each car. but not to say hes never been wrong about cars, im sure he has so ill ask where he heard this.

I've got an 89 Ranger for the winter and just getting around, and a 91 Lincoln Mark VII with a rebuilt and reworked (by me!) 5.0 and its the ****!

I just put my full suspension and a 75mm throttle body/plenum combo onto my GT these last two weeks. Kickin about 320hp and it handles like crazy now :D !!!

junkfoodbad,

Fourtunately you don't need to Itallian Job out your Mini, if you just buy the Turbo charged model. Apparently those are freakin sweet.
Ahh, the Mini Cooper S. :)

One of these days I plan on hitting the local dealerships and finally test driving them for the first time.

The mini cooper S is slower than the john cooper works.. The SE has a smaller pulley for the SC, so it's got a few more hp tweaked.

The 'S' model is low/mid 15's. And this is with professional drivers (who shift like monkies hopped up on caffiene).. A normal daily driver should expect high 15/ low 16.

magazines are not raw times...real world times are always faster. so its not 15/16, its 14.

14.715
@ 94.75 mph ...on a 2.5 60ft

Not from magazines, and it depends on which one you're reading.

And you're correcting me when you thought it was turbo'd?

My bike has like 18 gears. I can get up to 30 kmph on a straightaway and I can get downtown just as fast as someone driving :)
