POST Your Ride

Was this just an excuse to show off a big house and fancy car?

I hate to revive a dead thread... but its been referenced twice, so i'll go ahead and do it!

First off, I drive a:

Volvo S40 T5 - Electric Silver... ooooh
5 cylinders (2.4 liter turbo)
218 horsepower
don't know the 0-60 time... i would guess 9-10?
28mpg

I will post a pic later.

I really want to know if the lotus' are available in the US. I've been in love with those cars since i've first seen them, but i don't know if they're available in a left-side driver.

the rest nope, and soundz I bet your car doesn't get good mileage (teh main topic)

A bit late on the reply here but yeah the tag says 45miles to the gallon, but in reality its more like 39m/g which is still pretty good.
Its cos there so light. My car doesnt even break a ton with me in it.

MERGED.

(since Rlewis doesn't know how to use his superduper mod powers yet, you will learn young 'won)

I walk to the laundry room and open the door that leads to my garage. My arms rest on each side of the doorframes. "Let's Get it On" by Marvin Gaye starts playing my head as the garage door rises, slowly showing a full-body view of Nancy.

She's a champagne-colored '98 Mercedes Benz C280. Leather interior, automatic transmission (boo!), sun/moon roof, 6-cylinder engine, and power locks, windows, and seats.

And the story of how I got her goes like this (cliffnote style):

- Rewind to December 2004.
- I just turned 16.
- My parents called me into their room.
- I thought I was in trouble.
- But instead, my dad was on his computer and shows me an auction he just won on eBaymotors.
- "This is your car," he said.
- "omfgz lyke...NO WAYZ???//!!!1" I exclaimed.
- "YA, we want'd u 2 hav a safe car LOL!!" mama said.
- The the car comes in a week later on a tow truck from a dealership in Arizona.
- I was so stoked, cuz I was expecting to get my older sister's car as a hand-me-down (which was a black 2001 Toyota Carolla).
- Since I live up on a hill with a gated entrance, the car was delivered at a nearby neighborhood since the tow truck wouldn't be able to get in.
- So I got to drive it for the very first time up the hill to my house.
- I was amazed with the smoothness and the newness of the vehicle.

I've taken her many places I haven't been allowed to drive, and she's been a very loyal companion. Although we've been through some rough times and she's had some problems (broken a/c for two summers and a busted gas gauge), I plan on keeping Nancy until I die. <3

And before anyone gets mad and says that I'm spoiled - I'm sorry, but I can't help that my parents love me so much. ;)

eh, C280, bottom of the line mercedes...you should have one of these

SLR McLaren

this would show you how much your parents love you...set you back about $450k but you cant put a price on love can you?

Mmm, jealousy. ;)

The houses in my 'hood aren't even big. They're small, two-story track homes that pretty much all look the same.

My car is one of the lowest of the Benz. If I had a mansion somewhere in Los Angeles and a Porsche, then you'd be correcto. :)

ur so rite!

I guess I could force myself to drive that. Of course, I would have to strap my kids to the bumper, but they'd manage.

Dont have a car actually.. dont need one really. But I have looked into buying a 728 bmw from late 99/00 if i am getting a car - thats when they looked the best and before the "plastification" of car manifacturing had gone totally overboard - when ze germans were still building their cars like tanks.

example of a good looking one

Ah, the echo from those who have obviously never driven one ;)

Lotus Elise 0-60mph : 4.9 sec
Mercedes SLR 0-60mph : 3.8 sec

Lotus Elise Top speed : 150 mph
Mercedes SLR Top Speed: 207 mph

granted you can buy about 11 elises for the price of 1 SLR, but they arent even in the same class.

agreed...

but 11 elises = 44 cylinders... 1 SLR = 12 :D

(I would still take the SLR)

If I could afford an SLR, I would still buy a Lotus. Most Lotus drivers would tell you the same thing. Don't knock it until you've tried it. If you think a driving experience is about how fast a car accelerates and what it tops out at, you are sadly mistaken imho

I'm not entirely sure I understand why the two are being compared to one another in the first place? Did I say somewhere that I thought they were in the same class or that one was better than the other? I thought I just posted a link for someone who had expressed an interest....

What shall we compare now - an MX5 and a Ferrari Enzo?

so this car is half mine lol

Neon SRT-4...not a neon fan but i do love fast cars and this thing is fast.

5 seats
manual
spits out fire
too loud sometimes
stage 2 i think...not sure but crazy mods.
