POST Your Ride

junkfoodbad,
actually i was talking about mini cooper s, which is low 14 sec

EDIT: ugh i was wrong, its a high 14. lol

the john cooper works mini is a modified mini cooper S. So the JCW is faster. if you can tell me where you are getting these stats I will take a look. I'm not saying you are wrong, just want to see.

I know that the S is slower...i never said it wasnt. i was just telling him how fast an S is. (which isnt fast at all) lol. these are from mini cooper times databases.

do you have a link to these or are they from like magazines or something? cause a lot of those might be highly modified. after market turbos and stuff.

Some idiot drove into the back of my Lotus last night and cracked the rear clamshell. Getting a quote Monday - I have a feeling its going to be expensive though :(

Still, I guess thats what insurance is for (his insurance, not mine)...

Wow now that is hard to imagine. I know that in certain places it isn't really necessary to have a car, but still.
Live downtown, walking distance to everywhere I need to go daily. Good train connections to other citys aswell so.. more comfy surfing wireless on a train than fighting traffic on the freeway lol.

This one

The one in the avatar,

Mitsubishi Evolution 5

Insurance-dont ask:eek:

p.s and yes before you ask it is a ***** extension too!

Badshot - You part of Cruise sport?

And Lilsarrygrl - No thats not moded. The evos are already tuned up as much as they pos can. Its a rally car so the rules state that the engine cant be any bigger than 2.0Ltr. The Evo gets everything possible from its engine so you really cant tune it up anymore unless u put another turbo on it.

Awesome cars, its just a shame they need to go in the shop every 4000 miles!!!

Hi all,

My evo was running about 300 as standard but is running a different ecu and exhaust system.
I have a few friends running 550 plus, but their running bigger turbos and bored out to 2.4 ltr.

Its a very quick relatively cheap car for the giant slaying performance;)

R.lewis, im in the uk but havent heard of cruise sport and suprisingly enough the 4000 service for mine works out about £250 a year at a evo independant specialist.

Best regards

Paul

well he just said it was modded...but 8+ are fasterrrr and the only kind offered in the US lol :)

Actually 8+ arnt any faster, as they run from 260 up to 340, (400 special too) but are a heavier car, the 5+6 are the most sort after in the uk, due to their true rally heritage.

All the best

True, the 5 and 6 look great too. The new ones are a dime a dozen, but I've only seen one nice older one around.

I'm not too familiar with the minis, as my dh is into muscle cars, so that's all I hear about, but 14 seconds (high or low) isn't really very fast.

His 1970 Monte Carlo (big a*s boat of a car) ran in the mid to high 11's (with all motor, no NOS).

But then, sometimes the little cars can feel like they are going faster since they are so light and everything.

well they are close but the upgraded awd systems and such make the VIII a better car.

Deschain, i know that 14 sec is slow, never said it was fast...but is still a nice car!

Are you talking about the 0-62mph time?

Cos the mini cooper s does 0-62 in about 7.5 seconds, which is pretty quick for a 1.6Ltr.

Its the same system thats in the 5!

the only difference is that its adaptable to snow/gravel/tarmac and most of the roads in the uk are on tarmac.

I agree the 8's a nice car, but unfortunatly its just not a patch on the rawness of the 5/6 and even the 7 (a 6 with a 8 shell)

Still who cares each to their own.;)

:D

Everyone I know rips me for this car!

But...

A car is the most foolish expenditure I could think of buying, nothing depreciates as quickly in value, hideous evil necessities.

But hell, I claim £0.40 per mile I travel in it back, and it costs me £0.29 to run it per mile. Not many people motor not just for free, but for profit baby.

Meanwhile the profit helps me burn about during the warms months on my NC35

Dude, Tho it is a very gay car you get a huge amount of Kudos for being the only person on the forum to earn money driving their own car!!!!!!!!!

This is what I'm talking about. The Yanks need to get some cars like this.

I have a clio, its a 1.4 and one of the cheapest new cars you can buy.
I got it for 10.5K 3years ago, its now worth 4K and ive spent about that in petrol servicing and tyres.

So Ive spent about 10.5K on driving around, that could have been a deposit for a house!
