Marsia I like pistachios too so might try them . I was really happy with the amount of berries I can eat for about 90 calories
 
That´s the great thing about logging your food: you get to make more informed decisions about what you are putting into your body.
 
Logging your food may be a bit of a pain, but it keeps you really focussed & makes you think twice about eating everything. We may as well get the most nutrition we can. Doing well Petal. Glad you're on MFP too. I have kept it small or it's too much to keep up with.
 
Right I have not weighed myself at home (30 June) in a while and scales on vacation I was afraid as they might not be accurate.
So I'm 14st 1.75 lb .

I am happy as right before I joined here I was 14st 11 . All my small changes are starting to pay off .

Tbh I was feeling in my head that I was really fat during the week but on Thursday I noticed my jeans had space around the tummy area and my colleague said I was looking like I lost weight .

Really feeling motivated .
 
Thanks LaMa it's taking a while to get there but this time I'm really not obsessing over it . This is my lifetime change . I will take the ups with the downs . But honestly being here on this forum has been the best motivation club I ever joined
 
Yesterday I had a good day . Was out all day and visited family.
We went for a very very late lunch on the way home and I had to guess the calories for my mfp. I used a similar meal choice to the one I ate .
Looking at the menu I was swamped with fish and chips , burgers and chips etc etc . The chips were called skinny chips but I'm sure they didn't mean they make you skinny :cool:
I did steal 3 from my husband they were lovely . So I chose halloumi cheese ( it was fried as apposed to grilled) , on a bed of haba ganoush , the most wonderful little tomatoes reds yellows greens, grilled sliced courgettes , olives ( I picked them out) and about 6 large crispy croutons. The taste was out of this world. Going to try and recreate it for myself sometime.

I didn't know what haba ganoush was so I asked the waiter. It's a mousse like dish made from aubergines. Have since looked up recipes and it looks easy enough and thankfully tasty . Some use tahini in it .

Rest of the day was good except for one small slice of carrot cake at my in laws house .

I am afraid I still have this problem where someone puts food in front of me I eat it in order to not cause offence. Lucky it was small and I included it in my calories for day but would have preferred to say no .
 
Eating out again tonight . Do you all guess the calories ? Yesterday I picked something close on MFP

Hoping there will be a chicken salad today .
 
I usually estimate the calories, then find something in the list that sounds similar and adjust the calories for the portion I had, maybe upping it a bit if it´s a lot higher than my estimate. Eating out is not an exact science and maybe that´s a good thing because it keeps us from obsessing over calories too much.
 
Well I chose probably not the best dish on the menu. But I enjoyed it . I had over 900 cals left for the day . I tried to match it up on mfp but was hard so I just logged 1000 calories as a last resort. I didn't eat all the rice and it was just a small portion . Chicken was fresh but lots of sauce. Then 2 small ice cream scoops after .

Lol that’s funny !
Panicked a bit today that i was running out of calories and I got really hungry . Have eaten all my meals and snacks now and have about 100 left . Might have a yoghurt and some berries or an apple chopped up .
Also had guests unexpectedly so didn’t get all my chores done or my exercise and I just feel tired now really .
 
Some days are like that. Fatigue happens and that´s ok. Please take excellent care of yourself.
 
Work was busy today and I think my tiredness yesterday is because my cough and throat is back with a vengeance. Have kept to my calories though but not my exercise. My calories are based on a sedentary lifestyle so hopefully that be ok . Just going to potter about in the garden .
Trying to drink lots of fluids .
 
Lama I am pretty sure it is the air conditioning in work . And maybe allergies . It’s not so bad today and I had a good sleep . It’s just wears me down when I coughing.
