Performance -Not Enough!

BSL- i sure hope you were typing with a smile.

BSL-you can't take anything FF says to heart.

Misinterpretations are bound to happen when all ya have is text. Seemed like I annoyed you earlier with my "dissertation" and then again by misunderstanding you. Just seemed like you wanted me to f-off. Okay, I'll stick around to annoy you further.

So I've got this recipe for a tuna casarole.........:sleeping::sleeping:

We're cool. :D

But really, if you were truly my friend you'd have taunted me by saying I'll never be half the athlete you are....then I'd have harnassed my depise & resentment to train harder and prove you wrong. I'd get in better shape and push myself longer & further. But now, thanks to your explanation...I'm content to become jello in front of the tv. Thanks FF, heck of a guy! :D

Bet you thought I'd go there, didn't ya???

Good grief woman, this is FF's journal, don't you have better things to do then chase my post and leave dribble commentary? I hear Ralph's is having a special on cucumbers, eh?:yelrotflmao:

sparrow- I didn't comment because I wanted to check it out. When I am swim training, doin drills and such, I roll evenly, and flipper kick. When I swim a distance, lik today, as I relax and allow myself to glide longer I do favor the right side up. As i watched myself today I think it is partially due to rotator cuff damage in my left shoulder. What my left arm is doing while I am start gazing is a long figure eight type waving push, and then as my right arm is coming into the water, my left hand is giving that lil boost. "a hitch" is very descriptive.

and- say what you want about me- but this BSL is a total dildo at times. nice comment to derwyddon there. Now I am jealous of a vegetable.

and- BY SUNDOWN! well that's shaving another hour or so. actually where's thje indurance in that. hahaha

Stingo- the 300 has been tried by me and I can not do it in 'continuous motion" But- if I ever get a chance to log my workout in my FF'in workout journal- you will see me doing parts of it many times (floor sweepers tonight)

BSL- if you workout based on resentment you will get hurt- negative energy creates negative results. (my journal, my principle-please do not give me 19 examples of the contrary )

OK- TODAY's workout-

run: 4 miles early morning, very nice
ride: 5.7 mountain bike
lift:powerClean/Jerk 10 sets of 3. (power clean, then do one clean and jerk, power clean = 1 set) heaviest at 185
pullups 3 X 10 (2 wide, and one narrow grip)
floor sweepers 3 sets of 12 - getting much better at these quickly
rows- single arm row with 60's, then superset to long bar with 135, did 3 X 8
reverse flies wit 20's 3x12
shruggs with long bar @225 2 x 10
shruggs with dumbells @ 70 2 X 10
dumbell from floor to overhead press, single arm with 45's= 2 X 8

swim: 2.4 miles (1.2 then out of pool, walk one lap around and drink accelerade, back into pool for the other 1.2) total time - 1:24:57 - I would be happy with that time at my event.

ride: 5.7 mountain bike home.

hey BSL- print that out and go do it- take 2 days if you want. then come back and report-- beeeyatch :yelrotflmao:

sheeesh- I better get back to work or I might accidently get in shape.:p

sweat daily!

OVERTRAINED! walking past the puter at midnight to get a glass of milk.

lots of miles this week. I feel good about it, but with that century race on Sunday I need my rest. I let the work thing get into my head, my body paid the ticket, and now my body is ON GUARD- at midnight. :) ooops!:p

no sweatin tomorrow or Saturday, unless I get tight, then maybe just a short run to stay lubed up.
FF

I was wonderin why you were on so late. I don't sleep well when I have heavy weeks either. Its the price we pay.

However, I'm sleeping nicely this week. Hmmmm  You're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't.

So I just got back from Ralphs....

lol

okay a lot of random comments floating all over the place in FF's journal. What a popular guy you are!

Good workout there on the swim. I only asked about the "hitch" in yer stroke because its easy to fix with more efficiency, BUT if what you're doing is working for ya-by all means...

I forgot you're doing that century!

man, it was nice to roll over a dgo back to sleep. finally got up at 11:00 and I am sooo tight.

I also have a ab muscle acting funny. It is the second one down on my left side. If I engage them and then stretch them up, it hurts. It's almost like a sore calve, or bicept feeling. Maybe from the floor sweepers, or from adding the Jerk portion of the clean and jerks.

anyhow,
i am up, setting up some office stuff today for home. then softball torunament tomorrow and Strawberry centruy ride on Sunday.

ttyl.

Swam today, tried the FF 5-stroke breath technique. Can be done for very limited time and a slow/modest rate. No idea how you do that. 3 for me.

15 miles?....15 miles?:eek::eek:

How many years have you trained to get to this point? Do you think most people can attain this level, or (like Lance Armstrong) do you just have genetics that lend themselves to such capacity?

Hey, I have been reading your posts for a while...Why don't you start your own journal? I would totally read it;):D
Come on, we both know you want to:hug2:

First-off.....let me preemptively apologize for addressing this here. As a tribute to the intense, serious & sweaty nature of FF's journal, I'll keep this short (but don't count on it).

Perhaps you're right. I never really understood a journal until I was invited by JokersWild to check his out, then I started sorta co-posting in it...and it just feels good to know someone else is regularly reading it. We both have some accountability to eachother. It also seems a little daunting having an open-to-the-world journal for all to see. It's the kind of thing that can haunt you if you ever develop any form of political career. That I and just figure I don't have much to say.....

Bottom line, I think you're right. I'll get on it.

I agree...BSL has quite the personality

Thanks dude. Btw, you mentioned you like trance, if you wanna send me your address I'll gladly burn ya a few copies of some good tunes & mail it to ya! Homeinsulation@aol.com

me too Rich.

I am hurting man.

4 games of softball, at shortstop, very hot day.

already soaked and legs are toasted.

going to have some frozen yogurt and hit the rack. Setting the alarm, but no promises on the century.

Lisa (you met her with me on one of our rides) is going to be there with a small group. You will know them by their...... um,,, you'll just know.

maybe i'll see ya, and maybe not-- I actually doubt it. Between these softball games, and this sore ab muscle, a century is probably a bad idea...

oh hecka,,, I may be there.

quit buggin me about it already;)

Todd, nice seeing you at the Strawberry Century! 1 day after a softball tournament! And you're the stud shortstop no less...

Daughter and I had a great time at the Strawberry. If I was looking and I didn't have my daughter with me, that would be a great place to troll for chicks!

Daughter wants to do this again for another ride while I'm recuperating.

BTW, I'm still digging pb out from under my fingernails!

40th B-day is moving along.
Dropzone; bad weather day, no skydiving s0

I ran the 4 mile route I will be racing tomorrow at the Flatwoods Four. Nice place here's the link to the course map and phots. It is very soft trail. But full of shells, so no bare feet, and no grip.

stopped at gym:
pwer cleans 5 X 3, heviest at 185
shrugs 4 X 6 @ 225

swim:
100 sprint for warm up-- STUPID!!!! got a twang in my right deltoid, it may effect my race tomorrow..:( but I doubt it, I'm tuff (ish)
500 easy
500 hard from start and held on the best I could (I may come out of the gate fast at teh 70.3, not decided yet)
500 easy

now home, movie, dinner, cake, an then show my lady what a treasure the patience of being 40 is :)

Sweat Daily all

Hey nice pace on a soft trail! Your speed has really improved! SO I say nay on the "coming out of the gates fast" option. Thats not smart, AND YOU KNOW IT. The swim is NOTHING in that race. As much as I love to swim and back the sport it is minimal in triathlon. Its the peon of the bunch. If you can just be PATIENT old man and keep a nice aerobic threshold pace on that swim you can go ahead and bust out of the gates on the bike or run. Those are more your forte, and you have more stamina there without compromise. Just the facts, sir :)
