My Diary

I have done my fair share of lunges and those are so not easy to do. I was in a boot camp class for about 6 months and that always seemed to be a "staple" in the workout! I really loathed those but they did so much for me.

You are very inspiring!

What is the inchworm and the russian twists?

Great job!!!

The Inchworm:

"Stand with your legs straight and your hands on the floor. (You'll probably need to begin with your hands a couple of feet in front of you.) Keeping your legs straight, walk your hands forward as far as possible. Hold for 3 to 5 seconds. Then take tiny steps to walk your feet back to your hands. Hold again for 3 to 5 seconds. Repeat for a set of five."

The Russian Twist:

Russian Twist on Swiss Ball
• Lie on ball, with shoulder blades on ball and hips pushed up high off ground.
• Place hands together, as in photo on left (or hold a single dumbbell if you're advanced in Swiss ball workouts).
• Keeping your hips up, turn your shoulders to the right so they are perpendicular to the ground (photo on right).
• Twist back to the starting position, then twist to the other side.
• You can do 10 twists to each side for a couple of sets.

I'll have to try those during my next unscheduled class workout...those inch worms sound hard...as my hubby tells me they are. His instructor would throw in a push up into the mix as well -- ouch!

Workout 6/5

Spinning

Did aerobic intervals today - was a nice change from the work we'd been doing, and our regular instructor was back from Miami.

I did spinning today as well. I am so tired after it and have to drive about 30 minutes in a standard to get back home!

Can I ask from spinning, where do you feel it?

I'd say the backs of my legs primarily, though it depends on what sort of ride we did. Where do you feel it? (Other than the seat of your pants, since I know the seat is usually one of the hardest parts to get used to.)

The more things change...

Got the results of my blood work, and the results are good, particularly the hba1c (which shows my sugar's been kept under control for a while). The only thing that wasn't good was my good cholesterol, which means I have to take yet another pill. And here I was hoping to be off all meds... *sigh*

Congrats on the hba1c test. YAY! Sorry you can't get off meds yet. But Tom, I have no doubt that you will get there. You have so much going for you!!!

Thanks - just frustrating when you're doing things right and you need to take more meds instead of less... ah well, could be worse.
