Workout 6/14

Spinning

Played a game where the instructor had cards with the spinning moves on 'em (in symbols). And whoever's turn it was led the class (with the instructor's supervision/assistance of course). It was a lot of fun.

Sounds like it was fun...:D

Hey stingo, Do you know any good like "greatest hits" albums for classical music?

Depends on what you mean by "Greatest Hits" - I'm reminded of those collections which featured 1,000 melodies in snippeted form, which I doubt a smart guy like you would want. What sort of classical music are you looking for, orchestral, chamber, vocal? What style - baroque, classical, romantic, modern? Many labels have such compilations of parts of works with well-known themes (like Beethoven's Ode to Joy), but I'd just as soon suggest buying a CD of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony so you can hear the entire thing as Beethoven intended. Did you know that the Moonlight Sonata actually has 2 other movements, apart from the famous one? They deserve hearing too. That being said, and without knowing anything else, I know Naxos has generally good quality and is cheap. More info will allow me to get you some links to specific recordings.

I believe I tend to like Orchestral. Especially when it tends to get a tad "heavier".
Aslo I have only heard part of moonlight sonata Never the full thing. But no, I did not know it had more then one "movement".:D

And yes I don't think I would like little "snippets" of the songs.

Then you have a lot of listening to do... When you say "heavier" do you mean in mood, or something with a larger orchestra, or both? Also, orchestral usually divides into symphonic (the orchestra itself) or concertos (soloists with orchestral accompaniment - is there a preference?

You could try something like . But the music seems to be upbeat...

But if you want something with a large orchestra, and a dark mood, you could check out .

I mean in mood.
Concertos and symphonic can both be equally good. I think that depends more on the individual "Song" to me. So no, not really any "preference".

Thanks for your help Stingo. :)

I still need to look at the book to start strength training....
This looks like a great routine!

I quite enjoyed it, and liked the progress I made. Just so you know - the same authors + Cassandra Forsythe are working on NROL for Women, due out just after Christmas this year (according to amazon - I posted the link in the Women's Weight Training section)

Workout 6/20

Fat Loss I from NROL
All exercises will be 3x15 with 75 seconds rest between sets

Workout A

Squats 80 supersetted
Cable Seated Row 130

Supine Hip Extension supersetted
DB Push Press 20

Rotational Lunge 6lb Med Ball supersetted
Ball Crunch 20

Workout B

Deadlift 80 supersetted
DB Incline Chest Press 20

Bulgarian Split Squat supersetted
Mixed Grip Pulldown 80

Romanian Deadlift 30
Ball Lateral Roll

I didn't do the full workouts - just one set each at the weights listed. I can already tell that workout B's gonna be a tough one - the split squats and lateral roll will be difficult out of the gate. The other exercises (I'm hoping) won't be bad.

Workout 6/21

Spinning

Climbing class today - wasn't bad probably because I've been taking it easy in terms of activity this week. Bad part is the laxity of my eating too. I'll survive.

You'll be fine. I know you can do it.
