My Diary

It makes sense about the restaurants being a social event and being a convenience. It used to be a special occasion event, but you don't even have that anymore.

Well I set up an appointment for next week to go through my program and how I'm doing the exercises. Should be an interesting time.

Hopefully getting back into the groove - felt stronger today than Wednesday, so I'm hoping my foot problem is going away.

Past that - I've augmented the turkey chili with a healthier version of cornbread, and it was delicious. Now, my taster here at work didn't care for the cornbread, saying it was too dry and that the baking powder was covering over the taste of the cornmeal, but I quite like it since it doesn't taste greasy or oily like other cornbreads I've had.

Cornbread recipe sounds good. Might have to try it sometime.

Man u eat the tastiest food on plant eart..wish i were your poor neighbour with whom u could share your foods:p

btw how is your foot?

The foot is slowly but surely getting better I think. Keeping fingers crossed that such is indeed the case.

As for the food, I'm rapidly becoming spoiled by my own cooking. That is - I will only order something out that I can't make (sushi) or won't make (hot and sour soup) at home. One case in particular is lo mein - I like what I make so much that I'd not go back to just any old version from a chinese restaurant.

Workout 2/27

Spinning - Race Day

My third race day - I wish I could keep my heart rate rather more constant at 85% but I feel I was still close enough. It was fun though as we did some time trial sprints - got the heart rate to 168 on my monitor, so I was working a bit.

Tom, I hope your foot continues to heal!

Sounds like you had a great race day!!! :)

Thanks Wendy - in all actuality it's not my foot that's the problem but the area between my knee and my foot. I've very poor circulation there (hereditary) and that makes it easier for the nasties to hang about for a while. I'm hoping the exercise moves the blood around enough so as to have a fresher supply of nutrients to fend them off.

Yeah race day was fun - I don't dread it anymore like I did - it's becoming a regular class to me now.

i was talking to kiria last night and she gave me the ultimate soup tips/recipes am definately gonna try it soon
:)

Sounds good - the last soup I made was mushroom barley soup and it was very good. The cool thing is that if you didn't like mushrooms I think you could easily take them out and add more onion for a broth more like french onion soup.
