My Diary

Thank you both - saw my spinning instructor and the director of the local Y at the health fair today. She said I was her best rider (to the Y director) - that I'd come a long way and had great control over my heart rate. So I suppose the time spent is finally paying off.

Absolutely! Nice going!!

The 6th notch

Thanks for the encouragement :)

Somewhere along the way it seems I've managed to tighten my belt to the sixth (next to last) notch. Yeah it's a little tight, but not uncomfortably so. :)

Yup, every little bit helps - even if it's just one more rep of an exercise (thinking of the biceps curl on the functional trainer).

Not bad workout-wise today so far... well from this weekend too. Did the local Heart Walk on Saturday. Only 3 miles on a cold, clear autumn day - it was fun. Took my Ipod along for tunes (Bach's Goldberg Variations) and the stopwatch.

Decided to get a bit cheeky today with the 1-Arm Bench Press - not sure why because the Chest Flys felt a little more difficult on the functional trainer. At any rate, I picked up the 60's and got through the set. The way our gym is setup the weights from 10-50 are on a rack in the corner, with 2.5 and 1.25 platemates as well. On the floor are 1 pair of 60's and 1 pair of 70's - was delighted that this was my first exercise that I didn't go to the rack for. The other notable happening was that I'd actually finished a set of bicep curls at 35lbs on the functional trainer. Form could've been a lot better (need to work on that) but I'm happy that I was able to finish the set.

Thanks for the encouragement, but I think a bit more lurking will do me some good. Also, if you're going to be accountable to anyone, it should be yourself.

Great job on the heart walk. I spent my weekend in the city, now I am trying to get back on track. Oh well, no time like today lol.
