30 seconds of fame

Local news station interviewed me for a spot they run every so often, highlighting weight loss. Was interesting and a bit easier than I thought it was going to be. Was nervous at first but once I started going it seemed to go smoothly. Will have to see what the finished product is.

My one and only TV interview was for the Children's Miracle Network Telethon. It was a little nervewracking, but for a worthwhile cause. I think it helped that it was something that mattered and that we had seen a positive outcome in. Nice to share something positive even if it only helps one person find a little hope in your accomplishment. WTG Stingo!

Thank you - they ran it on the 5pm broadcast. I was at the gym and caught the tail end of it. I was changing, figuring it'd be on at the end of the broadcast, not the beginning. Ah well - this must be what that 15 minutes of fame is like lol.

Before and After

One side effect of having the interview was I found a true before picture. It was taken in Dec 2004, 5 months prior to when I started dropping weight.

:D Wow Stingo, that is quite the before and after! Definately worthy of 15 minutes of fame. Congratulations again and keep up the great work.

Great job, Tom! Nice work - and you can see an amazing difference!!! (BTW...can I have your autograph? :))

Workout 10/19

Session I (at lunch)

45 Minutes Treadmill, slow walk

I've been laying off the heavy cardio for the last couple of weeks (translation: no elliptical in that time) and the break has been beneficial I think. I still have to figure out how to work my cardio routines around the spinning classes though. Thinking maybe going on the treadmill for half an hour at a slow walk on days when I have spinning might be the ticket. I HAVE noticed that holding my heart rate at 85% is noticeably easier with the rest, so I have to understand that as a good thing. Decisions, descisions...

Session II (after work)

Yoga
Spinning
