"We who lived in concentration camps can remember the men who walked through the huts comforting others, giving away their last piece of bread. They may have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms--to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way."
Viktor Frankl
Choosing our own attitude applies to our health and well being as well as well as any other area of life. With every set of events and circumstances that comes into our lives, we are free to choose our own attitude towards our bodies, and what we will put into them.
I'm making a choice today that when faced with emotional obstacles, I will not choose eating to comfort myself. Ultimately it provides no real comfort, and just adds to the emotional burden.
I am choosing to take care of my body and my health, and to put this first before busyness, tiredness and other demands steal my health and happiness.
