Motivational sayings and/or affirmations.

"Happy women know that with each phase of life they give up something, but they also get something in return".

Thanks to L-Jay for that one! How true!
Sometimes we lose our perspective & a saying or quote can bring it back!

“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence.
Talent will not;
nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent.
Genius will not;
unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not;
the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race”

~ Calvin Coolidge ( President of the United States, 1872-1933)

"Sunshine is delicious,
rain is refreshing,
wind braces us up,
snow is exhilarating;
there is really no such thing as bad weather,
only different kinds of good weather. "
~John Ruskin

“Promise me you'll always remember:
You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think."
Christopher Robin to Pooh

~ A. A. Milne (English Humorist, creator of Winnie the Pooh, 1882-1956.)

"One bad decision is always followed by another."

This is a truism I've found with Cohen's - if you deliberately go off course, you will rapidly add more mistakes as you try to compensate and cover up for the first wrong move.

Better to stay on course and not make the first wrong move!

"Keep on raging
to stop the aging."

~ The Delltones ~
A bit of levity for today because I need it!
Enjoy life!

If you're in a comfort zone, afraid to venture out,
Remember that all winners were, at one time, filled with doubt.

"There's a difference between interest and commitment.
When you're interested in doing something,
you do it only when it's convenient.
When you're committed to something,
you accept no excuses;
only results.”
~Kenneth Blanchard.

You Can Be Whatever You Want To Be!
by: Donna Levine

"There is inside you
All of the potential
To be whatever you want to be;
All of the energy
To do whatever you want to do.
Imagine yourself as you would like to be,
Doing what you want to do,
And each day, take one step
Towards your dream.
And though at times it may seem too
difficult to continue,
Hold on to your dream.
One morning you will awake to find
That you are the person you dreamed of,
Doing what you wanted to do,
Simply because you had the courage
To believe in your potential
And to hold on to your dream."

It's taken me a while to find this but I love it!

Follow Your Dream

Follow your dream.
Take one step at a time and don't settle for less,
Just continue to climb.
Follow your dream.
If you stumble, don't stop and lose sight of your goal
Press to the top.
For only on top can we see the whole view,
Can we see what we've done and what we can do;
Can we then have the vision to seek something new,
Press on.
Follow your dream.

Success
by: Ralph Waldo Emerson

"To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty,
To find the best in others,
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child,
A garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded."

I loved it too Niyah. Some of them really resonate.
"Do not anticipate trouble, or worry about what may never happen. Keep in the sunlight."
~Benjamin Franklin

Concentrate on the things you want and not on the things you fear.
There is no sense in worrying about events that may never occur.
Always stay focused, be optimistic and confident and your future will always be bright.

" Consider the postage stamp: its usefulness consists in the ability to stick to one thing until it gets there"
~Josh Billings

“Whatever they grow up to be,
they are still our children,
and the one most important of all the things we can give to them is unconditional love.
Not a love that depends on anything at all
except that they are our children.”

~Rosaleen Dickson

"We who lived in concentration camps can remember the men who walked through the huts comforting others, giving away their last piece of bread. They may have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms--to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way."

Viktor Frankl

Choosing our own attitude applies to our health and well being as well as well as any other area of life. With every set of events and circumstances that comes into our lives, we are free to choose our own attitude towards our bodies, and what we will put into them.

I'm making a choice today that when faced with emotional obstacles, I will not choose eating to comfort myself. Ultimately it provides no real comfort, and just adds to the emotional burden.

I am choosing to take care of my body and my health, and to put this first before busyness, tiredness and other demands steal my health and happiness.

"Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future,
concentrate the mind on the present moment."
~Buddha

Do not allow yourself to get hung up on things that have already happened, or worry about things that may happen.
Concentrate on what you are aiming for right now and everything else will take care of itself.
