Motivational sayings and/or affirmations.

“A difficult situation can be handled in two ways:
We can either do something to change it or face it.
If we can do something, then why worry and get upset over it – just change it.
If there is nothing we can do, again, why worry and get upset over it?
Things will not get better with anger and worry.”
~ Shantideva

The good news is that you don't yet realise how great you can be!

in a world which is doing its best,
night and day,

which any human being can fight;
and never stop fighting.”

There are some fantastic sayings in this thread everybody. I really need to make more use of them. Here is a quote I found on someones blog, which I thought was well put:
"If there is one thing I have learned so far though, its that if you push through the worst of times, you get an oppurtunity to see things become better. If you don't hold on, you end up in the same miserable place you were in before."

"Take the first step in faith.
You don't have to see the whole staircase,
just take the first step."
~Martin Luther King, Jr.

Here's a suggestion for bookworms. Run to your nearest Dymocks and order in a copy of this book "The Boy who Harnessed the Wind", by William Kamkwamba (and a co-author I forget). If your partner/husband is a tinkerer around with "stuff" he'll probably love it too - mine read the second half along side me.

This book is new, published in September and now possible to get here. I'm donating mine to the school library now that I've read it.

If ever you want inspiration for overcoming adversity, but doing the impossible with few resources, and want to inspire yourself to do what you can, where you are, with what you have now, this is a "must read".

I sat and read the entire thing yesterday afternoon and evening (a rare thing for me these days!).
