Motivational sayings and/or affirmations.

Use words that evoke strength and success. Try filling your thoughts with words that make you feel strong, happy and in control of your life. Make a concentrated effort to focus on these words rather than those that make you feel like you are failing or incompetent.

"Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life;

not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens"

This is a a reminder to me that 'the good life' starts with a decision. It doesn't just happen that life becomes great. The more you cultivate the belief that life is an adventure, the more you'll experience it this way.

"Perpetual optimism is a force multiplier" -Colin Powell

Whoah- my last quote sounded a bit too "old testament" for me!

Just sharing what my older brother recently threw at me in a very heated phone conversation over the possible sale of Mum's house. I think he considered it a HUGE insult!

"You know what your biggest problem is? You look at life through rose-coloured glasses!":smilielol5:

to express the source of inspiration and joy within.

"Honor the sacred.
Honor the Earth, our Mother.
Honor the Elders.
Honor all with whom we
share the Earth:-
Four-leggeds, two-leggeds,
winged ones,
Swimmers, crawlers,
plant and rock people.
Walk in balance and beauty."

I saw this in a newspaper yesterday & it really appealed to me. I love it! I'm not even sure why. I just think it's great poetry. I wish I had written that!

A friend's husband died over the week-end & she put a notice in the paper with the opening lines of this song. I googled it as I wasn't sure if it was her poem or she had got it from somewhere else. Her LH was 61, had Altzeimers & was in care & they think he had a stroke.

Her version & excerpt read as follows-

"I drop my hat to restless winds, this time I'm not going to chase it again, in a jigsaw dream with soft spoken words, I woke up crying but no-one heard."

Heading West-

~Cyndi Lauper

"I drop my hat
To a restless wind
This time I'm not gonna chase it again
In a jigsaw dream with soft spoken words

I woke up crying and no one heard
You're looking through me like I never was real
You say you love me but you won't let me feel
So I'm gonna take a chance this time

I'm gonna find myself some place where I can heal
And I'm heading west
Without a sad goodbye
And I'm heading west

I'm like a letter with no address
Just like a book I read
I'm heading west
I said my name

Under my breath
He turned down a twisted road
I won't forget
I'm gonna fly my kite and let out all the string

Hold on to hope, let go everything
I can't stop laughing and it's nothing you said
The altitude of freedom seems to go to my head
And if I fall down on my knees I'm gonna get back up

I'm gonna get back up again
And I'm heading west
Without a sad goodbye
And I'm heading west

I'm like a letter with no address
Just like a book I read
I'm heading west
And I'm heading west...
Just like a book I read...."
