Weight-Loss Lose it by Christmas Challenge!

nope no need to track anything til sunday! think that most people who want to join up have done so but they still have til the end of tomorrow. Points will be allocated this week purely for any pounds lost. That basically means that if you joined early you have a bit of a head start!

Challenge beginning Sunday 28th Sept

Exercise!!!! Well toning to be more exact! Let's start getting thse tummies flatter :):) EVERY DAY you must complete 50 stomach crunches. By the end of the week you will have done 300 :D

No need to log your details everyday, so long as you detail it all before midnight every friday. If you find it beneficial to post daily then please do so!


I hope this makes sense...if it doesnt then ask and il try to clarify!

Good luck everyone! The first League Table will be posted on Sunday (based purely on weight loss from your target weight.)

10 points for each pound lost
Just a suggestion for your challenge -instead of awarding the points for pounds lost (as it gives an unfair advantage to those that are ata higher weight) you might want to do it based on percentage of weight lost -that way you've got a more level playing field.

To get the percentage - start weight - end weight = weight difference
then divide the weight difference by the start weight... and hit the percent key on the calculator

Ok, had a few messages from people who are a bit confused! so to clarify....

1) Only WEIGHTLOSS will count this week. The final day for signing up is today so the contest will start on SUNDAY.

2) Points this week will only be awarded for POUNDS lost. The % of weight lost was a good idea but i really want to keep the contest simple and most people signed up for 10 points per pound!

3)As of SUNDAY, the challenge begins and so does the recording of exercise mins.

4) The time it takes to do the challenge (50 crunches) DOES NOT count on your exercise mins. It is a separate challenge!


I think that is just about it! The overall aim is to keep it simple, accumulate points and get a little thinner and healthier for Christmas and 2009! GOOD LUCK!!
 
Uhm...do modified versions of the exercise count? Because I can't do a full crunch yet, at least not without needing an ambulance afterwards....but I'm doing a modified version of it which allows for survival...is that okay??
 
yep, modified exercises count! i know some people find crunches difficult so just do what you can! Aim for 50 but dont worry if you dont manage a full set - so long as you put in the effort :D

so, if we don't do the 50 crunches every day, do we get points for the other days we do? Just wondering, as I probably will rarely be able to check what the bonus is before my Sunday's over, so I will hardly ever be able to do the full bonus (unless it's by accident, lol :) )

Good question. Also, does it have to be 50 a day, or is it enough to get the 300 in a week? I.e. if I do 100 today and none tomorrow and so on, and end up with 300 for the full week, would that count?
 
It really should be 50 per day, but we are working on individual targets and honesty in this challenge, so if you feel that you have fulfilled it then that's fine!

Anke, if you are doing the challenge as often as time difference allows then you are def gonna get the points. Likewise, 300 in a week meets the criteria so that works too.

The point of the 50 per day was to make sure that we were all doing regular toning in the tummy area...so long as we total 300 in the week then i dont see a problem :) Hope that clears it up!

Dont worry about it, I think there was a lot of confusion! Is this the stat board that you will be using every week now? If it is, can you delete the other one (just makes it easier for me to add up the points!)

And nice job on the 7lbs!!!
