Why do I surprise you?
I don't have a political party, but I am a Social liberal and a Fiscal conservative so I am pretty much in the middle, leaning to the right.
I don't agree with most of Obama's stances, but that isn't important for me because I agree with his view on international relations and foreign policy. McCain view of the world and Muslim nation is exactly why we were attacked on 9/11, Obama understands this, McCain doesn't.
I might not agree with some of Obama's economy plans, but I get a good vibe off him and I feel like he would be a good leader
McCain offers no real changes, he voted alongside Bush 90% of the time.
And the fact that McCain chose a female VP that is as conservative as they come, and was part of a Pro-Alaska secessionist group doesn't help either.

You obamanites might get what you vote for. Hope you enjoy it if he wins. I'm not a huge McCain fan but I would never put Obama in. Way too far left. At least McCain is kind of middle of the road. Obama is a smooth talker but he tends to vote liberal, liberal, liberal. He will tell you anything you want to hear but once he gets in office, watch out.

However, the blundering and arrogant Bush foreign policy has alienated friends and allies and made enemies at a time when we most need friends and allies, and don't need more enemies.
Given that terrorism is the privatization of war, fighting terrorism means taking into account billions of people, instead of 200 or so governments that conventional wars may involve. Billions of people who may be swayed to be either friends or enemies -- unfortunately, the Bush foreign policy has influenced many of them to consider the US as a greater enemy or threat than al-Qaeda is.

Oh I agree totally. I think this pre-emptive strike policy is dangerous and I'm surprised that we haven't had a major war erupt because of it.

Because I don't think either party will provide exceptional leadership. I've always considered myself a liberal but recently began to question why I called myself that. I put the blame on my parents influence and also on our current leadership. He has made me hate the right wing of the Republican party. Being on my own for a few years now I have started to form my own opinions on our government and where I stand.
I don't think Obama is ready to lead. He's too young and just doesn't have the experience. He's also unclear on his plans for the nation aside from what he plans on doing with Iraq, which IMO is a bad idea. I don't agree that we should be there in the first place, but you can't just pull out and abandon the country. As Charlie Wilson said "All these things have happened, and they were glorious…and then we f----- up the end game". I don't know much about Biden aside from my gf's disgust that Billary is not the Dem VP nominee so I won't talk about him.
Conversely McCain does have the experience but is IMO too old for the office...what's the average age a person in the US reaches again? 75ish? Where's McCain? 72? Doesn't leave much room for error don't ya think? Don't get me wrong, I like Palin a lot. She's got a fire beneath her that I think the nation desperately needs. She doesn't play well with others and that just makes her that much more attractive as a VP. She won't do things to keep her party happy, she'll do things to help us the citizens of the country. But is she ready to lead a nation should McCain pass or be deemed unfit for the presidency? The other worries about McCain being "Bush II" is a worry but in terms of a republican candidate I think McCain is about as far left as they come. I mean the man was a democrat for a while!

No, not really. They've only wanted to attack us since we've started interfering in Muslim-nation's politics.
Our involvement in the Iraqi Gulf war and setting up a military base in Muslim holy land, our un-conditional support of Israel and the oppression of the Palestinian people, the over-throwing of Muslim leaders through the CIA, the sanctioning of Muslim nations that don't submit to America's foreign agenda.
Under McCain, Extremists will be fueled and there will be another terror attack sooner or later. McCain is a product of Vietnam and the Cold war, a compeletly different mentality than what we are facing today.
You can't beat terrorism through wars and bombs, Obama understands this...McCain doesn't.

Obama is a graduate of harvard law school, was a former community organizer, has taught constitutional law, has served in the illinois state senate, and the U.S. senate. He meets the threshold. That is actually a lot more experience than sarah palin. She was a former beauty queen, served as the mayor of a small town, and served as governor of Alaska for less than two years. Even if it is conceded that obama had the least experience in the campaign before she entered, she is the most inexperienced now.

She's height/weight proportional, she's got a nice face, a friendly voice, energetic while calm, and has a presence on stage. You're right that she has the least experience. but she's going to be the VP, not the P so comparing Obama's experience with her's is kind of silly. I don't feel Obama has the military expertise required of the position considering the situation we are in ATM. Like I said, neither pair is a favorite for me. I have issues I agree and disagree with on both sides. I just feel that McCain, while old and crotchety, has the level of experience that is needed at this time. you may not agree with his game plan, but i don't agree with obama's.

I said before that I know little to nothing about Biden so I'll take your word for it.
Right now I am for McCain, but who knows. We still have 2 months to make up our minds. Anyone's opinion can change but Obama is going to have to do a heckuva lot to change mine.
