Lei's Big Huge Log

Never seen it. I've never seen Red Belt, Never Back Down, or any other MMA/jiu jitsu movies.

I might check it out...but it seems like it's Step Up or You Got Served...only with fighting :D

2 hours nogi jits. Feelin good, man. Real good.

Sometimes. It's getting colder now so not too much outside stuff. Ignore the fact that I live in California and it's almost often 50-60F in the day around Winter.

so im assuming your not doing the 20 rep squat routine since you do your box squats first. are you just doing the 20 rep squats for suppliment? are you using breathing squats?

im thinking about doing 20 rep squats again, except with oly form this time. except i wont phail like last time lol

Yep, just supplemental. And yes, I'm doing breathing squats. Took me like 2 minutes to do the 20 reps. You didn't do oly squats? I think that my affinity for oly squats has held my squat from progressing.

Muscle ups throughout a few hours. Sort of like a grease the groove concept. Totaled maybe 15. Then went on to do:

2 hours nogi jits.

4.) Body triangle defense. Protect neck, grab opponent's outside leg, triangle it. Push on knee for straight ankle lock. Beware of RNC

Ineffective against opponent with a low body triangle. Not the right angle for ankle lock.

OH squat, bar complex, dynamic stretch, hip flexor stretch

14" box squat-
2x5 @ 135
20 @ 185

Chinups/pullups/multiple grips-
4x5 @ BW+25
2x5 @ BW

ring dips-
4xmax reps. About 7-12 per set. Some wide, some regular.

DB pull overs-
3x8 @ 50

Single leg ham curl-
3x12-15 @ 40

yeah, i didnt use oly form when i did oly squats, i used a wider stance.
yea, i made great progress, but the original program calls for oly squats. i progressed too fast(put on too much weight) and i was pushing it to the ultimate limit.

good work man :]
keep up this work and

Tabata everything
8 rounds ring pull ups
8 rounds ring push ups
8 rounds sit ups
8 rounds squats

1 Tabata round=20 seconds of work and 10 seconds of rest

whoa....dude tabata is intense huH? i thought you were supposed to do it for just 1 large exercise like front squats and do a total of 4 intense work.
im guessing you arent using tabata for fat loss, but for fitness instead?
anyway good job its hard work.

yeah, my bad i might have misphrased my above comment.
1 exercise like front squats
20 seconds on
10 seconds off
repeat 8 times.

not 4 straight minutes of front squatting lol

il probably do it when i cut.

Been pretty busy this last week with school and whatnot. I've been doing some ring work when I have time, mostly getting better at muscle ups. I can do about three in a row, although it's ugly. Would be able to get more if I could somehow hold on to the false grip.

Private jits lesson.

Swiss ball work-
1.) transitioning, sprawling
2.) toriando passing
3.) leg over bounce off
4.) back roll
5.) transitioning without touching the floor
6.) wheelchair
7.) all kinds of stuff. Get inventive

Half guard pass-
1.) Someone goes to paragon, let them get leg. Hook and stuff head, shoulder heavy into throat. With free hand, hook under their legs, pass.
2.) Someone has underhook. Cut knee through, step over. STAY TIGHT. Or they will take the back. Get hip to hip. Hook leg. Pass through to reverse mount. Reach behind to hook arm, go to side control. Or, if you have the other arm hooked, go to side and take the back.

Head and arm back escape-
1.) Opponent has seatbelt grips. Fall to the side of arm under yours, get to side. Opponent switches hands for head and arm choke. Let opponent situate himself, by getting low into side control, parallel to your body. Then back roll, take opponents back. Wait for right time. If executes too early, you are in a ****ty position.

RNC defence-
1.) old school ****. Reach arm over head like you're trying to grab the other ear. If done correctly, opponent won't be able to slide his hand through your shoulder/neck for a choke.

BdTriangle defense-
1.) Defend choke, clear hooks. The best defense for this is to just not get in it. When in turtle guard, get to the back then opponent is trying to seatbelt and pull you up.
