Kat's Journey: I CAN DO IT!!

The curved bar is designed to place less stress on your wrists and is used mostly for bicep and tricep work. Keep up the hard work!!

ahhhh ok that makes sense - i must have looked like a major dork doing deadlifts with the curved bar then! hahahahahah

Thanks for clarifying!

OK had a very tough kickboxing session this morning and pushed myself to the edge! it was magic!......

Am feeling a little tired this afternoon but am going to go to the gym for some HIIT & Weights... I know that once I get in there I will feel good....

Started a graph of progress today measuring kilos dropped per month with the graph starting at 98 and going all the way down to 59..... The massive drop in the first month of 10 kilos (22.1 pounds) looks awsome on the graph - am looking forward to the 22 of March coming round to see how I have progressed in the second month...

ANyway gota go burn some a**!!!!

Great Job!! One question, would you be able to do your weight training before kickboxing? Having more energy would allow you to have a better weigth training session.

I wish I could because it would be ideal - the only prob is that I usually get to bed quite late and would need to wake up at 5am instead of 6am to get to get to the gym in time to do weights before heading over to boxing.....

I think I will make sure I do at least one weights session (out of 3) on Saterday as I dont have boxing on Saterdays...

Good tip thanks Jokers!

Thanks Tony & Openczun!!

Yeah I even suprised myself with the drop BUT I guess I should let you know I was a book reading, TV watching couch potatoe who used to eat chocolate, ice cream & biscuits for DINNER!!! R U KIDDING ME!!!! I just couldnt imagine putting that cra* in my system anymore.... so I was basically doing zero excercise and eating a billion calories a day. Its amazing I wasnt much bigger than I was....

So, from that to hardcore excercise 5/6 days a week is a massive shock to the system but hey I AM LOVING IT!!! AND cant wait to be fitter & fitter and be a machine like I used to be... I am already addicted and dont really even think about losing weight very much, its more about getting the high and digging deeper when you want to collapse on the floor!!....

Whoa, that's awesome! I guess maybe I should add some cardio to my workouts, if I'm at all serious about weight loss.

I think you should - I know a lot of people advocate weights weights weights but really I think you should mix it up and shock your body with different things... I am incorporating "real" weights into my routine because I was only doing cardio and weight bearing stuff at boxing.... Good luck and KEEP GOING!!!

Hey All.... hope you all had a wonderful weekend... mine was great, we had some beautfiul hot sunny days here and I made the most of it by jogging on the beach in soft sand (pretty hard).... both days....

Will be going back to the gym tonight for some weights and HIIT....

ciao

Go Kat Go!

Ok last night was TOUGH - 30 minutes HIIT on stepper (10 minutes more than last week and at higher levels).... then did about 35-40 mins of weights... combo of upper and lower at higher weights than last week.... as posted in "weight lifting" forum, I had to force myself to stay awake on the train ride home!... this happened last week as well... must be my body getting used to weights again.... i really was spent.....

This morning did a mad session of boxing - today we did heavy bag work combos, lots of ab work, medicine ball work... felt a little weaker than usual but prob due to doing weights last night...... I FEEL GOOD TODAY!!! :boxing_smiley:

Sounds good Kat. One question, is there a reason why you do your HIIT before hitting the weights? Ive always understood that weight training before cardio was the way to go.

Hey there JW.... i guess its because I feel like HIIT is so hardcore that if I did weights beforehand I would have no grunt left for HIIT.... but I know everyone recomends weights first so on Wednesday night I will do weights first and see how that goes... :)

Thanks Tony - I guess I will just try both ways and see how I feel.....

Did kickboxing this morning mainly working on heavy bag work: strength and sprint kicking, jump rope, push ups and plenty of ab work, lunges, squats....

Am feeling good but a little tired... jsut slammed down some oats with protein powder.....

Gotta get pumped for tonights weights then HIIT..

P.S: My arms hurt from wieghts on Monday night :)

You were curling all night with the guys huh?

hahaha ummmm yes!.... it was funny actually because I was the only girl in the weights room....

On a side note (I know I ramble on so much sometimes, ok most of the time but hey its my journal!!) I dont know why people attempt things like losing weight or bulking without educating themselves.... I am sure they wouldnt buy a car or take a job without researching, so why is a massvie fitness goal any different?...... I just want to continue to learn and push myself knowing that what I am doing is effective or in line with some type of evidence..... I know there is an eliment of trial and error and "everyone's body is different" etc but how can you say - hey I want to lose x amount of weight and blindly work towards something without actually understanding how to acheive your goal.....

Anyway ramble over! I am going to PUMP it tonight!!

Good luck with NROL4W. You might also want to check out Ross Enamait's too.
