June weight loss goal: To reach 250

Inspirational Music Track: This morning it's Jason Derulo-In my Head but my tunes change every five minutes lol!

Weekly Tip: Use weights! I can never get moving in the morning. I can't even picture going for a walk or any type of cardio exercise. But, if I start by doing some weight lifting exercises it gets my blood pumping which wakes me and up and that motivates me to get moving even more. Just a simple bicep curl will get you moving in the right direction.

Weekly warning: Don't take a bag of any snack with you to the couch. If you want a snack put a serving size in a bowl and bring the bowl with you instead. If you bring the whole bag you will probably eat the whole bag.

Okay, you've just inspired me to try my weight system again. I have a small gym in my home that I haven't used in probably 1-2 years! lol But I'll start with weights today. :)

Quoted for truth. Seriously, I know this is true because it happens to me every single time. If there is a bag of Doritos in the table and I take it with me to my room, that bag (no matter what size) is a goner. I will eat it all. Nowadays, what I do is divide the snack into it's serving size. I use small ziplock bags and then label the bags with a permanent marker, so that I will know how many calories the bag has. So when I do take a bag to my room, it's a tiny little one that has the serving size written on it.

Emi, I do the same thing with my food now. I cut it up and put it in one cup snack bags and label it with a marker how many calories/points. I have to!

Hey, Hana! You've already lost a lot of weight, so that's fantastic. Welcome! :)

I love your tip about not buying the bad food. It's simple but a lot of people (including myself) don't do that. I know that sometimes you buy things and go, "Well I'll only eat one a day" and then you end up just having that food temptation there and eating more than you had planned, so for a lot of foods it's best just NOT to buy them at all. These foods will always be there, and no one will die if they aren't there *this* month. So again, great thing to remember.

What a great idea! I'm so glad I'm not too late.

I was in the May challenge and lost- but not as much as I'd hoped. I went from 212 to 203.7 though, so I'm not going to complain too much...

I'm very motivated to lose more, as I'm traveling to my hometown on July 4 and will be at a high school reunion-type event on July 17. I'd like to feel a bit better about myself by then and have more confidence.

Hope it's not too late - I just joined this forum last night. I have been trying for a long time to get mentally ready for this, but my mental state isn't changing and I really need to get going. I need to loose half my body weight and I really want to do it by my 40th birthday (August 2011). I have also been taking blood pressure med since I was pregnant with my last child (2007) and would like to get off of that. I have basically zero energy and zero motivation. What’s worked for me in the past was Weight Watchers – I lost 40 lbs before my wedding in 2001. What keeps me from joining again is the cost – and the fact that I am exhausted just thinking about all the planning and tracking of points. My life isn't as easy now with kids. I think it worked because it held me accountable. Hoping to get some support from all of you! Thanks for having me (if it’s not too late)!

Wow Emi - you have great will power then. If I have it IN MY HOUSE, it will get eaten. A lot of times, even if I don't have it in my house, if I crave it - I will go out and get it. I need to find a way to curve the cravings.

Maybe I should move to the middle of nowhere where there are no stores within many miles - that might stop me. It would have to be WAY out in the boonies because I can see myself driving a LONG way for a hot fudge sundae.

Anyone have ideas how not to cave in to the cravings? TIA!
