Jaclyn's diary

Thanks rosered and gonnab2cute. I really appreciate your concern. Hopefully they'll let me get him today.

Breakfast:
Whole Wheat English Muffin with All Fruit Jam (160)
Light Fat Free Blueberry Yogurt (100)
Orange Juice (50)

I got called into work today, which on one hand is good, because now I can make up the hours I missed when I left early to bring my cat to surgery and when I came in late from bringing my cat back to the vet, but on the other hand I need a day to get myself together and I also have a mid term exam I have to work on for my online Ethnic Lit class. But I'll be leaving around 5 or 6 and then I can work on that and wait to see if I can get my cat. I miss him so much.

Gideon is home!!! His fever dropped and they let me get him! Thank you everyone for your well wishes, they helped tremedously!

Glad to say I stuck with the diet the whole time. I'm skipping the gym tonight to stay with Gid, but I'm signed up for Cardio Kickboxing tomorrow. I've lost 18 pounds. At 25 I want to get myself a present, but I don't know what I want to get...suggestions?

Lunch:
Slim Fast Optima (180)

Dinner:
Lean Cuisine Mac and Cheese (300)
Carrots, cucumber, and tomato salad with 2 tbsp of Lite Sweet Vidalia Onion (100)

What a great day!

Thanks Rosered!

Since I was low on calories today I had some snacks after dinner-

I'm enjoying my kitty so much. He's so happy to be home, he just keeps purring and headbutting me. I missed him so much.

more to buy

Shoes!
cute jeans
sexy shirt
all of what Jennifer said!
AND a Cat TOY! ;)

Have fun and let us know what you got....

Thanks guys-awesome suggestions! I've actually always wanted to get a manicure and a pedicure, so maybe I'll do one for my 25 pound mark and then one for my 50 pound mark. Oh, and don't worry Christina, I will be getting cat toys a plenty for my little guy, who has been a wonderful bundle of purrs and fur since I got him home. It's been great! Highlights in my hair is also something I've always wanted to do, but since that's kind of pricey maybe I'll hold that off until I'm at 75 or until I decide I'm happy with my loss and ready for maintenence. I can't wait to buy cute jeans and sexy shirts, too, but I haven't lost quite enough to spend money on new clothes. Luckily I found this cheap cute store where I can buy new clothes inexepensively while I'm in between sizes. It's called DOTS. If you have one near you check it out for cheap pants and tops. They do have a plus size section and a regular section. Wonder how long it will take me to go from plus to regular...:)

Breakfast:
Slim Fast Optima (180)

Congrats Fuunkymonk! 18 pounds! Way to go! And your kitty is home. Enjoy both good things!
I have a slight addiction to scrapbooking, so I have decided that I will do a weight loss scrapbook, so I'm going to reward myself with supplies. (Don't mind the drool.)
Then, of course, every 5 pounds I have treated myself to flowers, but when I hit the 20 pound mark I went shopping and bought 2 pairs of pants and a top. I shopped at Target. Nothing expensive, but cute and springy.
Congrats again!

Thanks Scrappy! Scrapbooking is fun! I'm not very good at it though. :/
I shoud get myself flowers-I wish I had more cash to be able to do something for every five, (don't we all?) but I decided I would break my presents up into 4, at each 25 mark, until I lose 100 or until I lose enough that I like the way I look and want to maintain the weight (maybe 80, 90, whatever.)
Anyway, the best present in the world was my kitty coming home! He's so cute! And he just keeps playing and purring. I love him.

I will definitely have to get new pants soon, I can take my jeans off without unbuttoning or unzipping them and they keep sagging really low, which I've gotten in trouble at work for before.

Lunch:
Lean Cuisine Ravioli (250)
Peach (40)

I went to Cardio Kickboxing today. Wow! What a workout! It was tough...but I'm glad I went.

Dinner...or was it Breakfast?:
Egg Beaters (70)
2 Slices Veggie Bacon (70)
English Muffin with No Cal Butter Spray (120)
Glass of Orange Juice (70)

For some reason I just felt like eating breakfast foods for dinner. Unfortunately I had to go food shopping, so I didn't eat dinner until super late. I'm way too low on calories for today, but I got some good low cal snacks to have later to meet my quota.

I've been having the same problems with my jeans recently!!!! so i know how excited that feels!!! but then i did laundry, and now they fit decently enough... for any of you not in college, that may seem gross, but when you only have so much money, doing your jeans only once in a while is not all that uncommon... =P

Congrats on your loss! I"m sooooooo glad your kitty is home, and I would definately buy something that makes you feel sexy for your "present." I bought myself a new skirt for my first 10 - and i'm thinking a pedicure would be nice for 25... also, if you are interested in highlights and have a friend to help you, the stuff you can buy at target or walgreens or whereever is decent. I have colored my hair w/ storebought stuff a few times, and for les than 10 bucks, you can't beat that!

Oh man, I'm in college too, so I know about the once in awhile jeans wash! Hahaha. What can you do? I don't have the time or the money to do them everytime I wear them-that's absurd! :)

Thanks for the congrats. My kitty is doing so great, he's happy to be home! Something sexy sounds like a good plan-I just got a new Fredericks catalog in the mail and they had some really pretty bras on sale, so maybe I'll go for that. I'm hoping my chest won't shrink too much in my weight loss process. I've never tried the highlights in the box but maybe I will. I always do my regular color myself and it's fine, I get all the stuff seperately from a beauty supply store and mix it myself. I've been doing it for so long that I don't even wear gloves anymore! Maybe I'll look into the boxed highlights though...not a bad idea...

Snack last night:
Mini bag of light popcorn (90)

Dessert:
WW Cookie Ice Cream (120)

Breakfast this morning:
Slim Fast (180)

Snack:
Special K Bar (90)

Hey, Fuunkymonk!
I'm not in college anymore, but I have three little boys and a husband who add to the wash load so, I only wash my jeans every few washes. (And trust me, with potty training going on... those boys make a heap of laundry everyday!) Of course, technically, my husband is still a student, so we have the whole poverty thing going on too. (He graduates in May and we move in July. Don't know where...find out in April.)
Tread carefully with the highlighting kit! I used to dye my hair myself all the time and had even highlighted it with a friend years ago. I tried to highlight it myself last Christmas and things went terribly wrong. (I think I had a "chunking" kit rather than a highlighting kit. It came with this funky comb to put the streaks in. I was told my hair was too long to put in the cap and pull through with a hook.) Anyway, to make a short story long, I looked like my cat had peed on my head, so I wore a hat to school and went to the beauty shop to "fix" it. I know it is still more expensive than a home kit, but what about a beauty school or some place cheap like MasterCuts in the mall?
You are doing so well!

CAUTION CAUTION CAUTION

Take it from a girl that once had green hair by accident ...DO NOT DO STREAKS AT HOME....back away from the dye bottle and listen!!!!

Especially if you already have a colour on your hair. If you have a brown tone with red underlying...you could end up with brassy highlights,..like ewwww ick!.....or if you have a blonde in there you may strip out all the colour and get green.....double ick

Perhaps try the hairdressing school to do it for you,...and do just a few streaks in the front instead of you whole head.

HAIR IS IMPORTANT...ok showing my shallowness again!!!

LOL

Ew green hair...I had blue hair once, but I was 15 and stupid and I did that on purpose. Ugh. Okay guys, I will not do the at home kit. I'll be best off going to the guy who cuts my hair-I think maybe when I reach my goal that will be my big present to myself-a whole hair-over. A cut and style, color, highlights, and professional semi-permanant straightening (because I hate that blow dryer!) I've always wanted to do that, but I can't bear to spend that kind of money on myself. So maybe that will be the "I've reached my goal" gift. It's exciting to think about. And hey, hair is important. It's not shallow to think that to a certain extent. It's important for women to feel good about themselves and the way they look FOR themselves. I mean, that's why we're all here, right? To improve our health of course, but also because we all want to look a certain way and be happy with the way we look. That being said, here's my food for the day:

Lunch:
Lean Cuisine Ravioli in Chunky Tomato Sauce (250)
Apple (80)

Snack:
Yoplait Light Fat Free Blackberry Yogurt (100)

Dinner:
Slim Fast (180)

So, I'm having a dilemma-my boss offered me a full time position at work. Now if I took it I would be making more money, I'd get insurance (including pet insurance,) and I'd get paid holidays, sick days, and personal days. On the other hand, I would never have a full day to myself with no responsibilities. I have school on Tuesdays and Thursdays and I would be working Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, 9 hour shifts with a 1 hour lunch break each shift. As it is I work Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday and I go to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Sunday is my only day off. I could certainly use the extra money since I'm perpetually broke. But I'm worried about being too tired and falling behind on my schoolwork, and being stressed. But if I did it I would just have to be more disciplined with getting sleep and my schoolwork done on time. Ahh, I don't know!

Ooh, more money sounds good, but never a day off?! How long would you do this? Till the end of the semester? In college I worked or went to school everyday, but I worked in the food service. It wasn't stressful. It was a break from school work. I get the impression your job is different. When will you study during exams and stuff? Can you study at work?
Totallyscrappy

Well, I work in an office doing technical support for stores that have Ticketmaster machines. It's basically answering the phones and doing paperwork. It's not usually stressful per se, but it definitely has it's moments. The no day off thing would be for the rest of this semester, and then over the summer hopefully I can get online classes, and then it would depend on when I could get classes for the fall semester. I think I'm going to try it and see how it goes. If anything I could always step down. I only have a year and a half or so left and then I'll have my B.A. and I'll be moving back near my family and friends to work off of my degree and to get a Masters. I'd like to have some more spending money and I'd like to be able to save money.

Anyway, food-

Snack:
Mini Bag of popcorn (90)
Minneola orange (70)

Dessert:
WW Cookie Ice Cream

I'm up early again for work. I decided to have a big breakfast so that I won't get as tired at the gym when I go after work.

Breakfast:
Egg Beaters (70)
2 Slices Veggie Bacon (70)
Whole Wheat English Muffin w/zero cal butter spray (120)
Small glass of Orange Juice (60)
