Cohen's Lifestyle I may be young but I realize what I can accomplish

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
Technically it's a deviation, but it's SO not a big deal - not if you don't keep doing it! It takes a while to learn new habits - I was constantly amazed both times at the start at how many bad habits I had which I had to check - picking up things and finishing them off plates, "tasting" things I was making and so on. Amazing what we keep shoving in our mouths!!!

It was only a little bit and gosh was it good lol. But i didnt eat anymore and I think if I just stay away from it I should be ok.

Yukio-
Licking fingers or nibbling whilst cooking-
I didn't realise how often I did that until I started Cohen's. I must confess to actually spitting food out when I realised what I was doing when on Cohen's.
Good for your husband re the smoking thing! Hopefully soon the Seratonin will kick in & you will be able to be more positive about what you are trying to do. With smoking for eg you have to want to give it up more than you want to have another smoke. It's the same with deciding you want to eat healthily.
'Comfort foods'- I didn't find being 36kgs over-weight comforting. Eating healthily .is much more rewarding mentally & physically than so-called 'comfort eating.'
Yukio it may benefit you to read some motivational books. I can recommend The Beck Diet Solution by Dr Judith S. Beck. It's about training your brain to think like a thin person. I read it after finishing Cohen's but I think it would be particularly helpful at the start. I bought it from an eBay seller & it came from the UK. It cost me a bit less than $30. I couldn't find it in Aus. or from the library.
You can do this Yukio. If I can anyone can. Cheers, Cate

Thanks Cate. Im feeling better today Yesterday was just a really stressful and tiring day. With some of the things that was going on with my stomach, my cycle, the hubby having lots of work to do, and the little one was having a horrible day i was just wiggin. But today Im fine well rested and ready to just make it through today. I think the nap I took after eating breakfast at 6 am helped alot so I might start doing that for awhile. I think it will help me get through a bit better. And Im actually feeling happier then the last couple of days so Im excited >.<
Well hope everyone is having a great day and once again Cate thanks much

Hi Yukio!

I am glad you are finally feeling better now while being in TOM. Next week will be mine and I hope I will be able to deal with it as good as you.

Cheers!

Thanks much. You can get through it. Gosh Im happy i made it lol. How long have you been on the Cohens?? And how are you getting along??

Day 10

Ok so today Im doing great. Feeling good today and upbeat. Im feeling good. Made a cabbage and beef stir fry which was pretty good. I put to much chilli powder in it but I will make it through that lol. Other then that great day.
I hope everyone is having a good one today. YAY for Day 10 lol

It'll starting going up from hereon for the next few weeks, Yukio, so look forward to it. Whilst it's never absolutely 100% "easy" doing a major lifestyle change, you can look forward to an improving mood, and you're body adjusting to the lower amount of food and actually starting to benefit from it. The clothes start feeling a little loose too, and it's a real mental boost.

But - just now while you remember, mark on a calendar next time you KNOW your mood will start deteriorating before the next EOM is due. If you KNOW that from a certain date in June or July your mind is going to start the tricks again, the cravings will build up again etc, you can be prepared and maybe have a few tricks up your sleeve. One of my earlier ones was eating a few less crackers during the month on the "good days" (say 4 a day instead of 5) so that once that week came, I could add in the 5th and feel like I was spoiling myself. Or - plan a bath or something totally relaxing during that week, and make sure there are no big "plans" or projects happening that week either. Make sure your husband knows that week you need extra support, and maybe plan to go out somewhere nice or relaxing.

Hoping the next few days gradually start the improve and you'll really start to feel the benefits of the healthier diet. Give yourself positive feedback everyday - what we say to ourselves as we go along is extremely important.

Im hoping for the next days to get way better. I have it marked for the days next month im hoping that it will go better next time. I have hit my 10 days so now I dont have to eat all the crackers lol. But i think i just might throw a couple a day in there. But I feel if I knock a few out I might feel better to. Cause Ive been stressing over making sure I eat all the crackers and fruit haha.
Well hope all is well >.<
And hoping that everything is just chillaxin :chillpill:

You know Yukio, I wouldn't cut out any crackers or fruit myself. I didn't feel hungry after the initial couple of weeks (unless I had waited too long to have my next meal or had been particularly energetic) but I always ate my daily allowance of fruit & crackers. The amount of food you eat on the plan is quite low. It is designed just for you and varies depending on how much anyone has to lose. It is designed to provide the right balance of nutrition for you. Cut down on anything & you are altering that balance & will probably be starving yourself. It may not be compulsory but it is recommended that you eat them. Cheers,Cate

Ahh ok makes sense so I wont cut them out entirely. Just knock off a couple so that when TOM comes then I feel better about eating all of my allowance.

See how you feel energy-wise. It was just my EOM survival trick for that nasty week.

Anyway, sounds like you are going great and really through the absolute worst, which is great!

I feel great. Im just a little tired because things have been hectic for my hubby at work and im trying to help him as much as possible other then that i feel awesome and am avoiding temptations for the most part. I make such good ham lol that I cannot even prepare some that i cooked for my baby for her. I have to wait until my hubby gets home so he can feed her lol. other then that great. How are you feeling??

I'm going well right now, and feeling good. So glad PMT is past again - H.A.T.E. that week, last couple of days in particular.

Pre Menstrual Tension. I had to ask what TOM was (Time of month). I used to take Evening Primrose Oil when I was much younger & I think it helped. When I had a Hysterectomy at 42 I still had my Ovaries but no womb & should have still experienced PMT etc but when I didn't know when it was meant to be my symptoms seemed to diminish. Now when I feel crazy or crabby I just feel crazy or crabby & don't give it a name. LOL!
It's good to hear Yukio that you are feeling better, more positive & helping others.
Stick with it! It gets easier as you go. Cheers, Cate.

AHhh PMT... I get that all the time lol. Glad to know what it means though lol. Im doing great and feeling motivated. So my hubbys and my anniversary is practically free lol. Free movie tickets cause he won some free passes and just having a friend watch the baby. So all in all feeling great. I dont feel so much pressure by this diet so Im feeling good. Weighed myself again and I just couldnt help it but gosh did it make me feel great. To know that Im losing the weight and just doing the do. So yay almost 10 kilos down. Im a thug... My word for the week :: THUG:: lol
Hope everyone is getting on great and everyone stay positive. It will get better.
ps. found a new veggie i like lol.... CABBAGE .... !!WOOT!!

6.5kg is a fantastic loss!~~~~~ I am so jealous!!!! You make me so looking forward for my 1st weigh-in after starting Cohen.

You will do great. I know you will. Im happy but know I shouldnt be weighing myself lol >.< But im devious lol.
I start walking this week to help with the weight loss and well as keeping things toned to a certain extent. Im excited for the end of the month. Im ready lol. I have changed my goals around a little bit but they are still rather tough I think but I think I can do it as well as you can >..<:biggrinjester:

OK so now Im realizing just how easy this diet is. The only thing that is hard for me is I dont eat that much veg and fruit. I only have a bout 5 veggies I can choose from that I eat and then 2-3 fruits because they dont have some fruits here. Overall though Im feeling awesome about this. And I have decided to go ahead and get my hair done because I have done well. Tomorrow having some people over for breakfast and will power comes in. We are cooking for some aussies who dont really know to much about american food and think we are weird for some of the things we eat lol. As well as it is a going away breakfast for we found some friends we would like to spend more time with and they are leaving on Saturday. Im pretty sad about that. I dont want to have to try and find more its hard work. We dont spend alot of time with the americans here because well doesnt seem like they like us. We arent like the rest of them. Oh well. Got to get going. Hope everyone is having a great day and I will be back to tell you about I believe this is day 12 lol
