Has anyone heard of the 18 in 4 diet ??

I'm currently on the diet. PLEASE READ IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT ITS LIKE

Hi this is my first post on this forum. I stumbled upon it when I googled the 18 in 4 diet. My friend bought the program and had me do it with her. I have lost over 40 pounds from the south beach diet. The weight stopped coming off after about 6 months. I have since joined the gym. I have been working out for about 10 months now and have built muscle but havent had any more weight loss. I continued to eat healthy but not strictly south beach. The 18 in 4 diet seemed to be a fun idea to jump start my weight loss again.

I am ending day 2. It hasnt been as hard or as easy as I thought. The amount of food is the hardest thing. Its like nothing! No snacks. The foods themselves I dont mind. I have found that I pee a lot!! Today I started to have loose stools. (TMI? sorry :p ) Just being honest.

I just had dinner about 1 1/2 hours ago and I feel hungry again. I just try to push through. I drink lots of water to fill my tummy up.

Breakfast is hard. Only half a grapefruit and tea. Then lunch, I push it as far as I can take it. Lunches are fulfilling imo. I then try to wait as long as I can for dinner, just so I sleep well and Im not starving.

I have had headaches constantly for like a month due to stress so I cant say for sure if the diet causes them. Keep hydrated! The diet calls for lots of water.

Ill keep you guys updated on my success. Day 2 --Ive lost about 3 pounds.

Hi Kellydiane how are you doing now did you cope with day 3? if so congratulations it really sounds as if this is a very painfull process to lose weight. well done for getting this far.

Hello, well day 3 didnt come i was so unwell, took this diet along to my doctors and was told this is very dangerous diet and should not be used, my body had been deprived of any nutrients. I was unwell for 4 days
best advice i can give is dont do it.
GET MEDICAL ADVICE BEFORE EVEN TRYING.
OH AND HOW MUCH WEIGHT DID I LOSE WELL HERE GOES 2LB.NOT WORTH THE PAIN.
SINCE BEING OFF THIS DIET I HAVE LOST MORE WEIGHT EATING HEALTHY AND EXCERCISING.
PLEASE BE CAREFULL WITH THESE SO CALLED DIETS.

Oh I'm in pain just reading your diet. All you need to do is eat around 1600-1800 cals a day and some moderate excercise and you will lose weight. Heres sample menu for how I eat normally see if sounds more appealing to you..

Breakfast: 4 egg white omelette made with 1 slice of lowfat cheese with ketchup ,2 slices whole wheat toast and two cups of coffee (WITH MILK!) for around 400 calories (just estimating here on cals so not exact but pretty close)

lunch: Turkey Sandwich with a slice of Alpine Lace cheese with some Tom. slices and some romaine lettuce with some mustard and 100 calorie bag of light popcorn for around 450 calories

Snack: I tend to have a cup of coffee and pc of dark chocolate for around 150 calories or you can have an apple sliced up with a tablespoon of peanut butter for around the same amount.

Dinner: a pc of filet mignon cooked in a tbsp of butter with some cracked pepper with a bit of A1 on the side , a microwaved sweet potatoe or cut up tossed with a bit of virgin olive oil bit of salt and pepper and balked in the oven for about 30 minutes at 450 degrees with two cups of romaine , diced onions and 60 calories of your favorite dressing ( I use lowfat) for around 600

And I usually have another snack after I work /before bed .The above totals 1600 and you can always adjust to smaller breakfasts etc etc but just so you get the idea that you can eat well be full and still lose weight. Good luck and drop that head ache inducing plan.

YOUR MEAL PLANS SOUND DELICIOUS. I AM ON 1300 CAL A DAY NOW AND ENJOY MY MEALS ALSO I NOT LEFT HUNGRY AND NO MORE HEADACHES, HAVE SHOWED 18IN4 TO MANY PEOPLE INCLUDING 2 DIETICIANS ALL ADVICED NOT TO USE THIS DIET.
 
18 in 4

18 in 4 is a restricted calorie diet for quick weight loss I did not get sick, I stayed on it 3 days only, I was starving and going bananas trying to keep from eating! Maybe some green tea or Hoodia would help? I know lots of folks get sick on it so it is risky! kathy:grouphug:
 
i tried this 18 in 4 and i lost about 10 lbs in the 4 days, its not very hard and i was used to taking in a lot more calories, its good to jumpstart a diet and you can repeat it after the 4 days once, and then take a week break and then redo it again. it motivates you and shows you that you can actually cut down and it will work for you, i say try it.
 
Odviously we are all desperate to lose weight & be fit one day. All the negativity needs to GO AWAY! If your not here to give good reviews & CONSTRUCTIVE advice...GTFA! (Go the F%#@ Away!) There is nothing positive about Sarcasm to all you Know-it-alls... If your fabulously fit,go to a perfectly fit forum for your F-UP'ed Replies. OH YEAH, Every body keep in mind that each persons body might respond differently then others. I have tried "Alli" (FDA Approved) did nothing for me. Now I started the 18 in 4 plan and I PERSONALLY feel great and have been on t for 2 days...I would rather spend a few bucks on fresh vegi's & fruits then keep heading to the drive thru getting a big mac & putting it off,gaining inch after inch & always wondering. All diets & meal plans have the pro's & Con's! To each is their own!
 
Dougheyes, when you spend more time on this forum we strongly advocate lifestyle changes and healthy behaviour a person can take with them long term - most of us have tried the fad diets at one point or another and realize the idiocy and ineffectiveness of them long term so our attitude towards them and the people who come on here promoting them (who are often spammers) is not always going to be a friendly one.
 
I completely understand "your wisdom" I simply am stating the fact that rudeness & sarcasm is uncalled for...The best way to get a person to believe in your experiences is by passing productive judgement on a particular diet,plan or even pill!

I find it fascinating that your first post here was looking for information about a weight loss tea that's basically been proven to be a scam, the second post was asking about the 'secret' behind a specific diet plan that had you looked in the forum itself -you'd have found the premise behind the plan -and you missed the point of the topic anyhow - the dieting itself the members were keepig to themselves -not how the plan works... and now this thread getting your knickers in a twist because we're ragging onyet one more scam of a fad diet...

Start reading -and stop looking for the easy way out...

My little nephew made the point that he ate something that didn't agree with his stomach last night when he shit himself. That's not all that fantastic.... wouldn't you agree?

I'm sure this is going to go right over you head since you have no idea about anything of this forum, but you really do need to relax and read around if you are going to a) learn something, which is obviously needed and b) enjoy your stay here.

In order for you to create a paradigm shift in my epistemology you should try to post something constructive and worth looking into. If you don't, than I believe my way is right and better than yours. Simple human nature... don't try to analyze it unless you have a degree in Psychology, and even then, show me research to prove how that isn't human nature, because I've read otherwise.

So far your posts have added poor or no information... there are certain individuals on this forum that have been appointed a job to put that information to rest. You could have easily searched this topic already and found that it is repetitive and therefore being handled with sarcasm and "insults", not kid gloves like you wish it would. It's a shame that you feel attacked because this topic needs to be handled with IN YOUR FACE tactics... shit information should be treated like shit information. If there were SUCH effective measures such as teas and 4 day weight loss plans, no one would be fat... at least not over 50% of the nation. Think about this...

Hello all!

I'm new to all this forum stuff and to be honest with ya I'm a bit scared to get involved as some of the things you guys write to each other are pretty nasty! I can't believe how serious some of you take it.

Who care's if this "18lbsin4" guy doesn't exist, he's selling a diet that works for some people and making a clean fortune doing it. Good on him, I wish I was that smart!

To be honest I'm under no illusion that I'll be loosing anywhere near 18lbs in 4 days but I'll be delighted to loose 4lbs! I'm doing it so I can fit into a new dress that I have. I only want to loose 9lbs altogether and so far the only long term weight loss that has worked for me is Weightwatchers and exercise which I will continue after this 4 day fad diet.

I have all the ingredients in and I start tomorrow. I will keep you informed everyday. It's motivation I need not negative "know it all" feedback.

Day 1

Well, I'm on day 1 and I feel fine. I'm so surprised I like Butternut Squash, it's really yummy! Still have my burger for dinner to look forward to. I weighed myself this morning and I was exactly 10st 5lbs so fingers crossed I'll be 10st by Tuesday morning and I can fit comfortably into that dress!
 
Day 2

Well, I'm on day 2 now and I have to keep reminding my self that it's only another 3 days to go. Last night was really hard because I was starving and it didn't help when I made my boyfriend a delicious big chicken and veg stir fry! He'll be cooking his own dinner tonight!

If I feel hungry and on the verge of breaking the diet tonight I'll just drink some water and go to bed and remind myself that I will only have 2 more days. It sounds like torture but I weighed myself this morning and I was 10St 3lbs. That means I've lost 2lbs after Day 1 which I'm delighted about and encourages me to keep me going.

The first 3lbs I loose will be water but hey if it makes me feel better in my clothes then it's better out than in!
