18in4 - its not bad for me
I found it posted out there somewhere, so I'm on the third day. It's not so bad, but I'm really lucky, as I like all of the foods on it. It's not a whole lot of food which is usually hard for me, but for some reason I was really motivated this time. I feel fine, yesterday (the 2nd day), I was a little tired, but I feel okay today.
It's all good food (as in, not bad for you). I feel full after all the meals for a while, it just gets tough at night (As it does on ANY diet for me). It's kind of like Atkins on steroids, except that you dont count carbs, and you get plenty of fruit.
I think the biggest problem is that it's pretty bland. You should NOT stick to this diet for more than four days, though, as there are not enough calories. I haven't reached prune juice day yet (tomorrow). That's the part I'm dreading LOL.
I recommend seasoning the foods with Mrs. Dash or something, otherwise it would be way boring. Also, if you tend to get hungry every three hours (I do) hold back one of the courses and eat it later. That helps. Yesterday, I held back the cantalopes until 3pm and that helped a LOT. It was yummy too.
Its not expensive, the foods are all readily available at the market. The hardest thing to find was the butternut squash, since it's almost out of season.
I've read that a FEW people are throwing up, gagging, etc. Let me say, if you dont like squash, tomatoes and string beans, dont do this diet. You wont have a good time, and you'll just dread it. No one should eat like that, and you wont be able to continue anyway. Find something else that works for you. There are a million diets out there, and millions of people, and everyone reacts differently to different diets. I know, because I didn't lose ONE ounce on Atkins, and I was absolutely faithful for two months, to the point of crying in frustration.
I see a lot of people saying "Dont do this diet, it's BAD for you! No diet can make you lose 18 pounds at once!", without even knowing what's on it. Actually, like I said, this is not a bad diet. I think you could even go with bigger portions if you needed to. And, if you keep your expectations low, you wont be disappointed. If you're 400 pounds, and 50 percent body fat, yes, you might actually lose that much weight, if you're a smaller body type, then of course it will be different. It will be different for everyone.
I actually dont know if I've lost any weight, since I refuse to weigh myself. I feel better though, and my clothes feel better. I'll let you know after day 4 - I'm halfway through this right now.
Bottom line (in my case) -
Not the worst diet I've ever seen, but you'll have to read it for yourself to see.
Good Luck!
