I was called out by an old friend of mine from HS. We met up to go lifting together and he just vouched to follow my routine for the day. It was a back day. I just did the usual: DLs, Bent over rows, Smith Rows, Lat pull downs, and some bi's. At the end of the work out, while walking out my friend says, 'You've lost your edge..'

I kinda took offense but asked him what he meant, he replied, 'Sure, you've gotten bigger, but your workout had 0 intensity' The conversation continued.

And I realized, I've been letting volume, frequency, and a great diet render my results. And when I go to the gym, I'm just going through the movements.

..not anymore. I'm gonna start prepping for a show next year (not sure which yet), and I'm gonna take it. So I've gotta bust my ass now. I'm off to squat, will post the workout when I return.

...and yes my sacred cow is still 10reps. Although I am going to work down into the 6 range. And maybe even have a workout a month be singles and doubles.

Those 3 things were giving me my results, but I wasn't using all the tools in the bin..

Phate, Mreik was lamenting on how he is just going through the motions and hasn't been getting at it like he should have been. Obviously he's yolked, but that's no excuse for not putting your heart in it.
 
that looks like one tough leg day! I miss squatting :( My hip flexor is still screwy, so I'm doing quarter squats until it heals up. "Deep enough!" :p
 
Nothin like 1/4 squats for quad development! haha, that's what I say when I'm lifting with someone who isn't going to parallel..



Upper/Lower are shot.. Today was a planned OFF day, but I had an hour so I went in and did calves and forearms (if you didn't know I'ma BB you do now!) lol
 
This thread should be an eye opener - forearm day? No wonder I'm not huge yet ;)

What are your stats Mreik? Height, weight, calories etc...
 
That was a helluva leg day.....

If your open to travel a bit to do some shows let me know. I know some people who run and promote them in the NYC area.
 
Right now I'm 5'9" (maybe just under), 221lbs, sittin just under 10% (estimate, anyways it's going up!), I take in about 4kcal/day and around 320-330g of protein.. Right now the supps I take are ON-anywhey, coQ10, beta alanine, and caffeine (soon CEE)..


My life's a bit upside down right now LV, otherwise I'd jump on those connections in a heart beat.. I appreciate the offer and you might get a pm some time in the future! You gonna compete with me right?
