Hi there
I had my balloon fitted last Wednesday. From reading a lot of the messages on this forum although feeling like I wanted to die, I realise now it could have been a hell of a lot worse!
The first few days were hell. I got mine done in the UK through The Hospital Group. It cost me 3.5k.
I found I wasn't really provided good information on how I was going to feel afterwards. I went to work the next day thinking some antacids and anti-emetics would keep me right for the day. By 10 o' clock I'd puked once and was sitting in some of the worst discomfort I've ever known.
I was back at work yesterday and although uncomfortable, it's more than bearable.
I'm not having a big poblem with acid so far. I'm gathering that comes if I eat fatty foods y/n? I drank nothing but water and milk for the first 3 and a bit days and since then have managed softs easily. Scrambled eggs, soup and yoghurt. I feel like I could probably manage anything as long as I chew it enough.
I did get some serious dizziness today. I have to go skating tonight and am a little apprehensive it's too much, too soon but that remains to be seen.
I'm 14 stone (~90 kg) and 5 ft 7". I've never been this big in my life and it's driven me to despair. I want to lose 3 stone (17 - 18 kg I think) and fingers crossed I will as I've lost 0.5 stone in the first week

I'm also getting married next year and all I want is to walk down the aisle on my wedding day and feel beautiful.
To the people reporting no weight loss... I've realised very quickly this is not something that will just 'fix me'. It is something I'm going to have to work with. It's meant to help change bad eating habits not surgically inflict weight loss. You can't have it done and expect to eat as you did and lose weight. I needed something to get me out of my negative eating habits, get me used to smaller portions and thinking carefully about what I eat before I eat it. For me, I think this is going to be the solution. It's early days but already I feel more positive than I was before I had it done.
As many have said before me, if you have the cash and you want something to get you out of the eating rut then I think this could be the answer. Definitely less frightening than gastric banding, bypasses and cocktails of drugs.
Take care all and I'll keep you posted on progress. x
