I am in Portland, Oregon this week. Cold and rainy for the first 3 days.

Yesterday:Ran 2 miles, walked the next 2 miles (roads were wet and I am terrified of slipping and falling and breaking a bone) to the gym.

dumbbell bench press: 10 x 60#, 10 x 65#, 9 x 70#, 4 x 70# (each hand)
dumbbell bent over rows: 10 x 60#, 10 x 65#, 10 x 70# (each hand)
squats: 185# x 4 x 5
stationary bike: 1 hour

Walked 4 miles back

I fly back tonight
 
Today: Work day. Walked 2 miles, ran 1.5 miles to YMCA. Hanging bent arm: 3 x :30, some kettlebell exercises, 1 hour on stationary bike: 22 miles, ran 3.5 miles back to hotel.

Yesterday: Too tired to go out after working

Today. Still tired, but ran 3.5 miles to YMCA.

Dumbbell bench press: 60# x10, 65# 3x10. On second set of 65#, I leaned back on the bench too fast, went a little over the right side of bench, lost my balance and fell over! I had to pop back up and prove that I was not using excessive weight and popped out 2 more sets of 10 reps.

Squats: 185# 5x5

:30 on stationary bike, 10 miles.

Ran 3.5 miles back to hotel

:45 on stationary bike
Ran 3.5 miles back to hotel.
Flew overnight redeye flight home

Today:
Tired from flight
Dumbbell bench press: 75# 3x8
Parallel pullups: 3x6
Squats: 185# 5x5
Stationary bike: 18 miles, 1:00:00

Yesterday: Drove son to Baton Rouge to drop him off at LSU.

Today: Got up early and went to a local gym:

Squats: 185# 5x5. I struggled with these and "cheated" by leaning forward on the descent.
Pullups: 4x5
1 hour on stationary bike. Kept heart rate at maffetone-y 130 but ended at 140 with strong finish
 
Yesterday: 1000 yards in pool. First swim session in > 1 month. Sluggish.
Spin class: 45 minutes

Today: Bench press:
50# dumbbells x 5, 70# x 10, x 8, barbell: 165# x 6, 185# x 3
1 hour on stationary bike
 
Yesterday: Too busy to work out
Today: Worked from 6am. 8.4 mile run at night, 1:29:58. Kept heart rate at 131 avg. in accordance with Maffetone.
 
Yesterday: gym: pullups: 5, 5, 5
db bench press: 65# 2x10
Squats: 175# 3x5
1 hour on stationary bike

Today: 8.51 mile run
 
Been working out hard, but have neglected this journal.

Yesterday: Ran out of time, but got 45 minutes on trainer: 13 miles

Today: 1.2 mile swim (first HIM distance swim in a WHILE). First 600 yards were very sluggish; winded, sore, and required rests after each 100 yards, but final 1550 yards went at a decent pace (for me), slightly over 2:00 / 100 yards.
12.2 miles on trainer in 37:00 (20 mph).
 
Today:

Dumbbell bench press: 65# x 10, 70# x 10, 75# 5x5
Bent over rows: 65# x 10, 70# x 10, 75# 5x5
1 hour on stationary bike
 
Gator Half triathlon is 3 weeks from Sunday. Yesterday: flew to Austin, Texas. Today: 3000 meters in pool in 1:15:00.
 
Been real busy and wasn't able to post because of a logon problem that was only recently solved.

Did the Gator Half Iron triathlon last Sunday. Water was cold (64F), wind was howling (30+ mph), and it rained and thundered during the entire run. Time was awful, 7:22, almost 1 hour slower than last year. But, that only motivates me to work harder.
 
Did the Gator Half Iron Triathlon on March 21. Had a rough swim in the cold water (64F), wind was howling on the bike and it rained torrentially during the run. Finished almost an hour slower than last year, although I felt better prepared and more fit than last year.

Monday: 20 mile bike
Tuesday: 50:00 spin class, 4 mile run
Wednesday: 2150 yard pool swim, 5k run
 
IM Boise 70.3 is in 5 weeks. I've been working out hard, but I'll resume posting my workouts.

Today: 10 mile run, 1:43.
 
Ocean swim: 3 x 300 yards
