Finding Myself in Me

Toe cramping??? WTF mate??

I've looked in the other forums to see if I could find anything remotely as weird as what happens to me sometimes.

I stand weird alone it seems.. LOL

Yesterday, after I completed my ride, I took off my shoes and both of my big toes started to cramp - sideways - to the point they were beginning to look like thumbs.

OOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!

I "get" muscle fatigue and why it's important to hydrate and replace electrolytes and sodium after physical exertion.

What I don't get is why this happens. Do you? And will you share your thoughts with me please??

:confused4:

Getting into the whole biking thing eh? G8r80 is gonna have to start helping you with equipment! :D

I wish I could get into that, but I just never have...said that about running too so you never know! lol

Ah... "equipment"

I use a 21 speed mountain bike in a highly non-mountainous geographic region.. LOL. A road bike would be nicer, but the budget won't allow it so...I use what I have... and it has worked just fine :)

However.... I may need to start a letter to Santa Claus now and ask for a hybrid (one that blends the durability of a mountain bike with the speed of a road bike). :biggrinsanta:

hehehe

Ho ho ho! :biggrinsanta:

edit this statement to say- why it's important to be hydrated PRIOR to exertion, and replace electrolytes WHILE exercising... and you will experience this cramping less.

Thanks! What is a good way to replace the electrolytes though?

I'm kinda limited on what I can use due to dietary restrictions. What are your ideas on that?

zipp fizz in yer water- cheap and yumi.

maybe even get some endurolytes. I will give you some to try - they are lil capsules with sodium, magnesium, potassium, and calcium.

Your workouts are getting longer, and it's hot here.

Ride, run, ride

So today doesn't look like much, but it was a solid workout.

Left the house and rode 2.5 to a cemetary to do a run.
(morbid sounding i know, but as quiet as the grave :cheeky:)

The run is a "tempo" run

walk - rpe 5 - 3 min aggressive
run - rpe 5-6 10/20s - 3 sets
walk -rpe 3 - 1 min
run - rpe 7 10/20 - 1 set
walk - rpe 3 - 1 min
run - rpe 7 - 10/20 - 2 sets
walk - rpe 3-5 - 3 min
run - rpe 3 - 2 min
walk - to cool

Left the cemetary and rode 2.5 back to the house, had breakfast (2 eggs with 2 pieces dry wheat toast) and then went and bought some Clif shot bloks and some ZippFizz.

Oh yeah... I fell in LUST with a new bike today too.. A Marin - hybrid (cross between mountain & road bike) ... but alas... the $500 is not pocket change so it stayed at the shop... (sigh) Santa Baby... hurry down the chimney tonight ;) hehehehe

Now... off to homework land.. LOL

What are you studying?

Business Management is what I'm studying and I'm 4 classes away from having my Bachelors degree. I'll be done in February and am really looking forward to it.

After that... it's on to getting my Masters and I'm tossing ideas around between Marketing or International Biz because both have my interest.

Then again.. I may take a break and just sweat for a while too.. I like that more I think ...lol :)
