Hey Todd, are you still on for the Gator Half? I'm getting psyched for it. Wanna ride next Saturday on the trail - if it's not too bloody cold for me.
 
next Saturday I will be on my way to Miami for ING miami marathon.

The GATOR!!!! I am regisrtred and yes I will be there.

Today - 2 mile recovery run / walk - ouch ouch ouch!!! hehehe gotta love it!

ING MIAMI MARATHON- 4:12

:) gotta love it-- still ran sub 10's-- hahahaa

no really- taking a month off, and gaining 8 lbs is not a good marathon training plan.

OOWWWWWIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

but I made it.

ho you ask--- funny thing-- around mile 8 I see a runner with "first timer" on their shirt walking! OMG!! you can't be walking come on honey- it is not how fast you run, but how lil you walk that matters. you can do this... (of course, this is all just a front for "fatty" to take a break and talk to the pretty girl) anyhow--

then I took off

at mile 22 I am toasted-- it is hot, I am tired, and the only thing I have done well is nutrition. My legs are on fire, my BRAIN (THE BIG MUSCLE) is finished.... and guess what!

God brings along that lil tramp and she says "NO WAY Mr. Ironman can;t be walking... it's not how fast you run but how lil you walk" if there really was a god, He would have answered my prayer and she would have dropped dead on the spot!!!

BUT-- maybe an angel.. so off we go.. and my legs flush out, and we are running again... at 25 she is crying, and 25.2 last drink stop I wanna stop and she says no, and back and forth we went... SAVED THE DAY AND THE RACE!!!

Jill will forever be a friend, and she finished her first marathon.

Gotta love good sport.

Hey good race all the same FF! Loved the story...the marathon is an adventure with lots of new friends! You get to know some people in those hours pretty intimately don't ya! The good, bad and the ugly!

Well time to get the poundage off friend! You've got work to do! Pretty darn good time for being "out of shape" in it!

I have been werkin my tail off from 1:30 to 8: 45 every day except Thurs and sunday, amd I am totallyt overwhelemed.... BUTT- and you kinow what I mean, I will report for performance..... hehhhee\

Sun the 22nd Marathon = 4:12
Monday 2 mikles of suffering (thanks TCI, mr ironman)
Tuesday - drinkiing
wednesday - riode 10, then breoke bike and I ha to riun ove 7 miles home..
Thurs- 20+ miles road bike- felt good to go fast, firs ttime since Ironman!!!
Fri9d- NOTHING
Sat- Ride 20 miles road--
I weigh 191.6 and can kick yer ashhhhhhhh - TRY me muthba F'er!! :)

Yeah, Sparrow, I was freezing in Sac this week. Flew through Thurs night and tried to swim Friday, but was spent.

So, let's ride next Sat, big boy, and you'd better bring it! Pinellas Trail. 7am. I'll pm you and send you a text mail.

my issues----

well at least the athletic ones! LOL

OK -- the ironman glow is gone

I did the GFL 140.6 in 12:27 in October
X-Country Marathon in Nov 4:11
ING Miami in 4:00

BUT- I have basically done nothing since Ironman except gain 9 lbs.

I have a 70.3 "the Gator" in 8 weeks. That is not enough time to get really ready, I checked the training plan, and it is already talking about race prep.

What do you guys and gals think I should to to get ready for this April 5th event?
Bike focus? Swim? Run? Starve myself and drop the weight (affraid of getting weak). I respect the distance, and understand "in race" nutrition-- but in the short 7 weeks I have to train I am a bit "un-nerved" about what to do.

I ran yesterday- 6 miles, and my legs are even sore. LOL!! Ironlevel fitness slips pretty fast.

Please help with your ideas.

Run:

5 out and fast 38:33 (7:50's or so)
5 back were HIIT, smooth long sprint stride to exaust, then light job to walk, pick up again, did 10 rounds. Then slow run last mile home.
