Good job FF. You're keeping that lean look despite a month off, having a "Farmer John" tan and gorging on Thanksgiving dinner. Thats a talent! Look for an early Christmas gift of self tanner from me in the mail :D

i have rowing blkisters!!! and NO I was not inspired by you at all Dutes. :)

actually rowing is rather boring....

did an adventure race yesterday...

supposed course waws--

ride 50, run 5, row 5, and swim 1. The row was straight accrossed the open Bay- 4.8 miles. and it was hell.

my total time for the event was 6:18, and I won first place out of 4, we will see when the results come up.--- hahahah LOL!

BUT- the whole thing was a total race. I made the final pass during the 20 minutes swim, and only did it by having long gliding strokes, and the other dude go too excited, and was stroking too fast. VERY GRUELING and competitive.

I have never won before. hehehehehe first place out of 4 aint bad!

p.s. rowing is for the patiently smooth and boring. I zig zaged all the way accrossed that bay... LOL!

p.s.s. I was kyaking and going forward not backward.

I'm going to let the boring comment slide, just because its you ;)

But as I said in my journal, sculling (even though you mention kayaking I still presume that, like sculling, you were alone) is so hard mentally because you are all alone, nobody cares. Sometimes it is really hard even for me to get up, get in that boat and go for a long, lonely row. The same motion over and over again for sometimes upwards of 2 hours continuously. The same reach of water every day, week in, week out, month in, month out.
But at the end of the day to me it isn't lonely, or boring. It is freedom, pure freedom. Just lost in that same repetitiveness, the perfect catch, the feel of the hang of the oar as you drive with the legs before the swing rocks you into the finish and you feel the boat run effortless underneath you. It is, to me, the most perfect feeling in the world.

But hey thats, just me and rowing definitely isn't for everyone ;)

Sorry to hijack your thread with my own ramblings.

Great work on winning, its a great feeling :)

Hope everything is well and that you've just been trainign too hard to have time to update!

Life is a tangle and a half right now. Changing total life structure for career, and emotionally living the life of FF, and well, shoot-- livin large actually. Totally on the edge in a few areas, and it takes energy (even if some is negative). I am in for the full experience, and there ya go!

got my bib # for ING Miami Marathon (#1297).
