The injury itself isn't a very big concern for me...I've had this kind of injury before - it's a simple sprain.
My concern is the time I have to take off because of this. The week off I took in anticipation for my skydive might have been the cause too. I am never ever taking days off like that ever again. I can DL 250-300#, it is my strongest lift, but now I fear it will suck for a few months, I won't do DLs for a while. Will stick with lunges and back hyper extensions.
How it happened:
I was doing my FBW routine and was nearly completed. I had to leave DLs at the end of my routine because someone was at the station I usually use. I ended up going to a different station and it is a little different. I warmed up with about 90# on the exercise and on my first rep I felt it tear. I said to myself: "Um, ****." I got up, put away the plates, went home, showered and went to the hospital and waited about 7 hours to be told I was fine. Have you ever seen a doctors face when you explain them how one does a DL? I think he took me for complete ****ing idiot. "DON'T DO THAT, YOU WILL DESTROY YOUR BACK! DO THIS!!" as he showed me a lat pull down.
I love doctors and how they all think you are stupid.
Anyhow I used to have this yoga and stretching routine for my back, I think I will start doing that again - those made my back feel like a million bucks.
Now, I'm going back to work. My desk has about 50 pounds of paperwork on it and here I am, writing on a forum.
