no he got charged but he doesn't have to register with the state because that only applies to humans.

Oh yeah, I forgot. Tom's not human ...

But why are you doing BPs AND DLs in the same workout?

They work different muscle groups and I do full body workouts.

I'm not sure what you are asking there my friend.

One is for chest/tris the other is for legs and other upper body muscles, why wouldn't I do both?

So you do FBW every time you workout?

Fair enough :)

That's what it looked like, but I just wanted to ask because I do a split. If I did a FBW, I'd never make it to the showers ... they'd have to call in the coroner :D

Ran approx. 4 miles last night. Its getting easier everyday Did the usual pull ups and chin ups 3 times to failure. Found out my middle son can kick my ass on pull ups. LOL
Damn kid is a monkey and just goes to town on the pull up bar. ;)
My oldest can't even do one:D

I have a laptop to buy for my Dad's girlfriend and on my way back I will either go at my father's place or to the gym to get some biking done.

Feeling a little sore all over from yesterday's workout...I guess I did good.

Off I go...

BTW there is nothing wrong with doing bench press and DL in the same workout!

And Kraken & Ilovemuscle, i am half human actually. They call me a humeep. (half sheep half man)

Nice pictures Eric, i wouldnt mind doing that some day :D

Well I have good new and bad news.

Good news is I worked out.

Bad news is I ****ed my back up hardcore.

Spent many hours at the emergency and it is only a muscle injury.

Hopefully it will be gone by the end of the week.

On the bright side - I will have a lot more time to study this week because of this.

Anyhow...I'm going to get some ice and medication and enjoy the buzz of painkillers, later.

:D

That sucks about your back Eric. How did you manage to do that?
Enjoy the painkillers. LOL
Vicodin rules.

Saturday I did my DB routine in the morning.

sunday I ran. I pushed myself to run farther this time. Not sure about the mileage but I added a couple streets to my run. LOL
No exact science here but I keep pushing myself to go farther.

also did the pull up circuit at the playground sunday.

I cooked some bomb ass salmon on the grill yesterday as well. Buddy caught a bunch from the Manistee River and he was nice enough to hook me up with a couple fish.

I'm really noticing a ton of progress with the pull ups. This is perhaps the most tanginble improvement for me. I keep pushing myself to do more each time I do them. Also the running is getting easier and easier. I'm actually starting to really dig it.

The injury itself isn't a very big concern for me...I've had this kind of injury before - it's a simple sprain.

My concern is the time I have to take off because of this. The week off I took in anticipation for my skydive might have been the cause too. I am never ever taking days off like that ever again. I can DL 250-300#, it is my strongest lift, but now I fear it will suck for a few months, I won't do DLs for a while. Will stick with lunges and back hyper extensions.

How it happened:

I was doing my FBW routine and was nearly completed. I had to leave DLs at the end of my routine because someone was at the station I usually use. I ended up going to a different station and it is a little different. I warmed up with about 90# on the exercise and on my first rep I felt it tear. I said to myself: "Um, ****." I got up, put away the plates, went home, showered and went to the hospital and waited about 7 hours to be told I was fine. Have you ever seen a doctors face when you explain them how one does a DL? I think he took me for complete ****ing idiot. "DON'T DO THAT, YOU WILL DESTROY YOUR BACK! DO THIS!!" as he showed me a lat pull down.

I love doctors and how they all think you are stupid.

Anyhow I used to have this yoga and stretching routine for my back, I think I will start doing that again - those made my back feel like a million bucks.

Now, I'm going back to work. My desk has about 50 pounds of paperwork on it and here I am, writing on a forum. :D

toodles

I ****ed up my back when I first did the DL's but that was because I thought they would be easy and loaded up the weight. LOL

I stretched it out and soaked in the hot tub and it was ok.
My chiro actually suggests DL's to improve core strength.

Keep the weight light until you get comfortable and have perfect form. This isn't a strongman contest and you're not impressing me. :sport2:
A strong core is essential to keep your back in good shape.

I have some good lower back stretches if you want I can explain them to you.

Ok

Stretch 1 = put your leg up on a countertop and keep it fully extended. Hold for a 10 count. Repeat several times with each leg. You have to keep it straight though.

Stretch 2 = Lay flat on your back on the floor, keep your knees bent and pull 1 leg as close to your chest as you can. Make sure you keep your lower back relaxed. It can start cracking and popping the first few times you do it if its relaxed enough.

Stretch 3 = Lay in the same position as stretch 2. push down on the floor with your lower back. Only your pelvis should come off the ground slightly. Tom imagine a chick on top and you are pushing into her to give the illusion of that extra inch. LOL
Hold that for a 10 count and let it relax. Repeat. This is another that might crack and pop your back.

A lot of this has to do wtih breathing right and feeling your lower back muscles relax.

These are straight from the chiro. :p

funny work story

We have someone here who noted CMU (Concrete Masonry Unit) walls
as CUM walls. LMAO!! I have to go in and change probably 100 notes

DB's last night should be back in the basement by tomorrow.

crunches 6x25
push ups 2x50
ankle raises 50lb DBs 4x12
close grip BP 50lb DBs 4x12
squats 4x12
military press 50lb DBs 4x12
lunges 50 lb DBs 2x12, 1x10
skullcrushers 30lb DBs 4x12
hammer curls 50 lb DBs 3x12

The basement floor looks damn good. I need to wait 72 hours before I can put my weight equipment on it. So Wednesday night I should be able to set everything back up again. I have the stereo system hooked back up now. I'll have to do a little touch up on the walls as well.
The DB's are nice but I'd rather be lifting the real weights. I'm sure some of my lifts will suffer a bit for the first week or 2. But I expect it and am planning accordingly.
