Dieting in Quarantine

Oh my, last night was so much fun! I was up dancing all night so I'm already at 1,562 calories burned this morning. I am absolutely starving now though, so I am very tempted to counter-act it by ordering pizza...

Oh man dancing all night with friends does sound so great! It's been ages for me to have a night like that!
I love the idea of an outdoor "rave" of 6 people-how covid re-defines all what we do!
Pizza doesn't sound like the worst plan after a calorie burn like that :)

I gave into temptation. I ate a large Domino's pizza over the course of a day  I didn't count my calories yesterday (obviously) but still not feeling too guilty about it though. I may feel differently if the scales start to disagree with me!

Weight fluctuations
Friday: 9 stone 5lbs
Saturday: 9 stone 4lbs
Today: 9 stone 6bs

The regime resumed today. I bought some seasonings that I believe Slimming World use for their recipes, which I put on some potatoes to make the "perfect roast potatoes". They were delicious! I will be bulk cooking next week so it will be interesting to see how curries turn out. They should be better on the calorie/macro front as well.

Food diary
Breakfast: A pork, apple and black pudding burger with avocado and a fried egg
Lunch: A protein bar
Dinner: Salmon and prawns with onion and roast potatoes
Snack: a couple squares of chocolate
Nutrition: 1,584 calories, 106g protein, 61g fat, 154g carbs

Exercise: 15,780 steps (walking and Body Combat class), 2,236 calories burned
Deficit: 652 calories

I'm glad you didn't beat yourself up about that pizza. Your burger at breakfast intrigues me. As a kid, I used to watch my Dad eat black pudding, but I have trouble getting my head around it. I eat venison liver, so I know it doesn't make sense. Is it something you grew up eating, 101?

I'm glad you welcomed the pizza :) I think it's great to indulge in a nice treat every once in a while--i think it makes it more like a long-term lifestyle change rather than a short-term diet.
You are so consistently on a good track with good nutrition and exercise, that a nice pizza every once in a while should be totally fine.

Hey DA, good to see you posting regularly. And except for the pizza, ancient history now, you food looks pretty good. Dancing all night is both great fun and exercise, good for you. Were you able to avoid drinking while doing it? Don't dance any more, but did when I was younger. Always involved drinking though.

Haha yeah I try not to think about it too much when I eat black pudding. Usually it's only a treat. We had the burgers in because we were supposed to have a BBQ on Saturday, but it rained all day.

Aww thanks! And you're absolutely right about it being a lifestyle change. I find that too many restrictions kill my motivation.

Your food sounds delicious. Love black pudding and apple goes great with it.

Thanks! A local butcher makes the burgers and they are delicious!

I had few drinks, but nothing crazy. As soon as I get dancing I completely lose interest in alcohol (even managed a few sneaky waters when people weren't looking!) I know what you mean though, drinking seems to be a ritual before things get going.

Hey DA, your diet and exercise are looking good. What is Body Combat? Sounds kind of interesting.

Body Combat is a cardio class based on mixed martial arts. By far my favourite Les Mills class. I have included a video of it below if you are interested:

20 meals and 8 homemade burgers later, I can declare the bulk cooking complete :) the last few days have been fairly quiet while I have been catching up on chores. The pubs and restaurants opened in England today, but I can't say that I was queuing at 6am to get a pint. I have a hair appointment booked on Thursday so I'm going to make the most of having post-lockdown hair by going out for drinks with my sister. I can't wait!

All of your food sounds so good DA, and really satisfying, so you're not reaching for snacks in between. Enjoy the haircut and first pub visit. I have my first pub visit next weekend. :)

whew! exhausted after watching 3 minutes of that video! You must be very fit 101!

Haha thank you. I have to have people shout at me over video to exercise or else I would never do it!

Thanks - you can probably tell I can't do with ever being hungry! Enjoy your pub visit too :)

I am not feeling very well in myself today because of a bad night's sleep and a UTI, but otherwise I had a nice day. We took my family's dog out for a walk around a National Trust site which has amazing natural rock formations. We have also met my family to properly plan out our holiday in the Lakes on the 17th :)
