Dieting in Quarantine

Hey DA, hope you are feeling better.

I am also impressed with the body combat video, vigorous exercise.

Thanks for the messages guys. I am feeling a bit better but I do need to get a hold of some antibiotics. So far my GP has been less than helpful...

Other than that, I had a job interview today! It seemed to go well, but the main interview won't be until next week so it's a bit too early to tell. I am pretty shattered from feeling unwell and staying up late preparing for the interview, so will catch up with everyone properly soon :)

Thanks again guys! I got a hold of some antibiotics and they worked (yay), but I have now injured the inside of my elbow from throwing too many punches in Body Combat (boo). I have spent this evening frantically trying to find exercise classes I can do which don't involve punching, push-ups, burpees etc. I have a few ideas which will obviously be quite heavy on the legs!

I have received confirmation that the interview went well :) The recruiter told me that the interviewers really liked me and consider me to be a very strong candidate. I have good vibes, but I can't shake off the nerves. This is the first time in my life I have ever really needed a job as I've never had anything resembling a career break before. It also doesn't help that there was a bit of recruiter drama on Friday. The agency who were advertising the vacancy told me that they were doing so exclusively. I then received an email from a different recruiter asking me if anyone had spoken to me about the role at that specific company, so I immediately emailed the first agency asking if everything was still okay as it made it seem like that this company was still doing its shortlist. It turns out that this other recruiter was just fishing for jobs in the hope I would spill the beans (luckily I didn't!). I know it's not my fault that happened, but I really could have done without being associated with drama when I waiting on a date for a second interview! :ack2:

I enjoyed food and drinks out on Thursday, and I have been as good as gold ever since :) I was going to open a bottle of champagne to celebrate officially qualifying on Wednesday, but I think I'll save it until Friday as that is the first day of our holiday.

I have been hovering around 9 stone 5lbs mark. If I could get to a new low (ideally 9 stone 3lbs) before I went on holiday then I would be thrilled.

Hope the job works out for you, I know job hunting can be stressful. How is the job market for attorneys in the UK right now? In the US we always seem to have an excess of lawyers, but good ones are still in high demand.

I will second Cate, you are doing great, losing weight and exercising. The Body Combat really looks interesting, but not something I could likely do.

Nice to hear the antibiotics did the job! Sucks about the elbow though. Hope that'll heal up quick and you can get back to some of your favorite work-outs.
Lovely to hear that the job sounds promising. Hope it works out.
Nice work on the weight loss too!

8.5 lbs lost since you started this diary, 101. Well done! You have been very consistent & it’s paying off. Fingers still crossed for this new job :)

Thank you :) you're quite right - even though I have usually have at least one day eating/drinking at maintenance at week (usually two) it's still coming off and I'm having fun doing it.

It's rather slow at the moment to be honest. A lot of places (including mine) are feeling the affects of lockdown and will be making people redundant if things don't pick up quickly enough, but hopefully the Furlough scheme will make it more gradual than the almighty crash we had in 2008. I'm feeling confident that I am good enough when the right job comes along - it's just a case of waiting for that to happen!

And thank you! I have to admit I would struggle going around the gym with a set list of exercises as my mind wonders too easily. I need someone to shout at me to do things.

Thank you. The elbow is better so will be back to kicking and punching soon :)

Today's weight is 9 stone 5.5lbs. I kept exercise to a minimum today by going for a walk and doing 10 minutes of work with resistance bands. I can tell that the bands have worked as my legs are very sore now!

Just a quick post as I'm spending tonight preparing for the interview.

Today's weight is 9 stone 4.75lbs and I'm expecting the calorie deficit to be 825. A good day :)

Thanks guys - the interview went reasonably well, but it's a bit of a bummer that my Internet froze halfway through. I felt happy with what I had answered though.

I don't find out until 3pm today that my name has definitely been added to the roll of solicitors, so I am in the hunt of easily accessible endorphins. Exercise or browsing on ASOS for a flash sale? Hmmm...

Edit: today's weight is 9 stone 4.5lbs.

That must´ve been SO frustrating about the connection dying on you! Glad you still did well though.

Yes really too bad about the computer freezing partway through! Hope you got it despite the glitch.

So I got the job :D I don't have an official start date yet as the company is hiring more than one person and wants us to start on the same date, but it's likely to be early September. Very happy!

I went on holiday last week in the Lakes which was lovely. I ate and drank EVERYTHING while I was out there, so consequently I have put on 2 pounds. I will take that!

I now have days until I go on holiday again with my boyfriend's family. I am expecting that to be less crazy on the eating and drinking front, but it will still be a break from the diet.

Today's food diary

Nutrition: 1,433 calories, 124g protein, 47g fat, 128g carbs
