My next PL meet is in November, so I'll have an exciting number for everyone =] I can't do football this year, so I have no sports to do this fall. Just pure lifting. Big 3 months coming up...

The principle for my grade didn't want me because he doesn't think that I should do such a time consuming sport first year as a junior because at our school, football is #1 sport and we are extremely good at it...so we practice alot, train alot, and have alot of manditory extra things. He thought that since I didn't have my bearings in it already that adding that ontop of everything else I do-academically, athletically, and all I do at campus ministry (our religious thing.. like relief trips, day mission trips, helping incoming freshman, sophomore faith trips, etc.). So he basically said I can't do it because I do too much. Which is kinda stupid, but I do understand where he's coming from when he says that academics and college is more important. I wanna go out for football senior year, but idk if I should anymore.

I'm scared ****less to find out what my maxes are. When I went to Mississippi, 1 week of 120+ degree heat, building homes outdoors with only 3 meals a day.... I went from around 167 before leaving for 'sippi to 153 when I got back. The worst part was that it was mostly muscle, and now I just look kinda chubby. My 4 pack is gone pretty much =*(

Hmmm ill have to find out my max dead lift, its a bit unreliable this thread tho as im guessing some ppl wont be honest about there max lift and might exaggerate it slightly!

Merci you need to drop that attitude right now. Especially going into a comp, you need to psych up, and know that you'll pull whatever fcvking weight they put on that bar.

Yeah, clear your mind of doubts. I know, if I try to pull my max now and I think before the lift "hmm, I'm not really sure if I'll be able to do this" then I'll miss it..

True. One is able to doubt when one lifts weight that is low, but when the weight gets higher and higher, the willpower of the lifter needs to match.

Definitley Matt. I've got 3 months of pure training. No other sports. I'm ready to push and pull some big weights. I know that going into the comp in November I will have the biggest numbers of my life so far. I'm planning on working my ass off to get there.

Heres some good news: You don't actually "lose" muscle. It just strinks from astrophy so that is why you can gain back lost muscle and strength back quickly.

Hopefully I'm right in your case.
