TGIF!! Happy Friday,

Well yesterday was the switch in boot camp nights. Not only that but it was a switch in times. On Tuesday's I used to go at 6:30-7:30 pm. I used to run 6K before that as I get off work at 3 so I am running by 3:30 or so. Yesterday's boot camp starts at 4:30 so I have less time to run but I did it anyway-lol. I just parked at the place where the boot camp takes place and ran from there. That is one of the things I love about running- I can do it anywhere. I did about 7K and then immediately went to boot camp after my run- I am CRAZY-lol. I didn't feel too bad and was strong at boot camp so the run didn't hurt me any. The added protein is helping BIG TIME!!

I ate about 1700 calories but I could have eaten over 2400. Still having problems stuffing enough food down my throat. Weird - never had that problem before I started losing weight-LOL. I should have taken yesterday off according to 1/2 marathon clinic schedule but I went and did double exercise. I am not going to be able to follow the clinic schedule too closely as they only run 4 days a week. I have always run a lot more and will continue to do that as my body seems to need to run more days than that each week. I am going to be careful to take rest days though. So because it is Friday - I am declaring this my rest day.

That is it for today. I hope everyone has a Great Friday and a Great Weekend!!

Good Monday morning,

I hope everyone had a good weekend. I had a good weekend- did my long run on Sunday although Saturday turned into a lazy day. My youngest had a badminton tournament all day so spent the day watching. Thing about badminton is you don't even burn the calories of watching tennis because you don't have to even turn your head as the birdie goes from one side of the court to the other-lol.

The long run was good. It was beautiful here yesterday- ran in T shirt and shorts. First time running outside without underarmor- and long pants- felt great.

Eating was good. I am slowly upping the calories a little bit at a time. I ate about 1800 calories on Sunday. Today was weigh in day and I guess things went okay because:

I am now at GOAL WEIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup that is right- I reached my goal of 175!!. It has been a long hard journey but I made it. Now I just got to stay here. I think that it is going to just as tough a journey as the weight loss one. At least that is what I am hearing from other maintainers in the forum. I guess I will take it one step at a time. The main thing is that I finally hit a goal in this damn weight loss nightmare!! Now for anyone out there believe me when I say-- If I can do it, so can you!!. It just takes perseverance and determination.

That is it for today. Have a Great Monday!!

Thanks, Jennifer. I don't know if I like the lifetime goal thing-lol but I know that is the way it has to be. I think I am up for it- I HOPE I am up for it. Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Tueaday,

I started my maintenance eating yesterday and I can tell already this is going to be very difficult. I have been using my fitness pal for calorie counts and when I changed my settings to maintenance it told me I had to eat over 2400 calories- when I added my running for the day I had to eat 3000 calories. Now that is going to be a problem-lol. Sometimes I wonder how I got fat in the first place as 3000 calories to me now is huge. Makes me wonder exactly how many calories I WAS eating before? Anyway, I am not going to be eating 3000 calories for a while- I need to build up to it. I did manage to eat about 1650 though and all healthy stuff. I guess if I lose a few more pounds it isn't going to hurt me- it isn't like I weigh 52 pounds now-lol.

I ran my 6K tempo run yesterday- not part of my 1/2 marathon training ( I was supposed to take yesterday off) but part of my enhanced training. I have my clinic tonight and we will run a 4K tempo run. Weather here is kind of nasty. Rain today and windy but 4K doesn't take too long so I don't think I will get too wet.

That is it for today. I hope everyone has a Great Tuesday!!

I haven't read your diary yet but i probably will now. I don't even know how tall you are.

Excellent news and CONGRATULATIONS "big party" icon going on here!

So now that you've reached your goal weight, have you got the body you want? If you are running a lot, you must be looking pretty good. Good luck with the marathon.

I was glad to see that you are gonna build up gradually to your maintenance weight, cause i wondered if you just started eating 3000 cals after considerably less, if there might not be some craziness result.

I don't really expect maintenance to be particularly difficult. I do expect i will always have to be vigilant about what i eat if i want maintain a low weight. ALWAYS. I've noticed my sister who is a skinny minnie and has always been smaller than me and always slim, is always vigilant. She can eat some serious fat sometimes. YOu should see how much butter she puts on her toast and then a load of marmelade on top of that . But she earns it. She's always craving her exercise cause she knows if she doesn't do it, she will put on weight. She's been doing triathlon for a few years now and so that's a lot of exercise to maintain fitness. I think she said she did an olympic length race in under and hour (if i remember correctly) or should that be under two hours?

I'm not going to do anywhere near as much exercise as her so I will never be able to eat butter like she does. But that's ok cause i don't miss it.

Hi Forty Four,

Thanks. I am 5'11". I don't think I could eat 3000 calories a day if I tried- I would definitely be sick. Yeah, I know people that eat grease for breakfast, lunch and dinner and if a strong wind came up they would blow away-lol. I have never been like that and I don't think I ever will be. I will have to be vigilant on watching what I eat if I want to maintain. I know it will be too easy for me to just say well this won't hurt me and neither will this until I am 320 pounds again. I know that is what happened before. So this time I am going to watch what I eat and exercise.

The body isn't where I want it to be yet. Still some loose skin to tighten (at least as much as I can) and some muscle to add. So along with my running ( which helped a lot with the toning) I hope to get the body I have envisioned myself having. I do know I am not 20 anymore so the hard body is not in my future but I will do the best I can with what I have.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Good Tuesday Morning Cowboy,

My goodness 3000 calories :svengo:??? You can definitely add some cheese and butter to your weekendly McMuffins now lol. I like your plan of building your way up in calories, if you just threw yourself into 3000 calories your body wouldn't know what to do and you would probably just -> :puke:
Its almost double what you ate yesterday :willy_nilly:!! What kind of foods have you been adding to your meals to build up the calories? It seems like it could be a fun new adventure of finding new delicious and healthy foods to start eating, I know you're like me and like to basically stick to the same thing day in and day out but the trial and error process of finding out what you want to add into your meal plan seems fun.

Have a wonderful day!

Hi Janvier,

Thanks, I hope you had a wonderful day too. I don't think I can go back to butter and cheese on my McMuffin-lol. i have gotten used to them plain. I have been adding food higher in protein so the calories aren't just empty ones. More Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, chicken, etc. I have also added my favorite snack - pretzels and salsa back in again. They are high in salt but I don't eat a lot of salt anyway so they haven't been hurting me at all. LOL- you are right I eat the same thing day in and day out- I have just been eating a little more of some things to try and bring the calorie count up. I don't really have any desire for chocolate or cake or anything so I have been staying away from them. I think they would just make me feel ill anyway. Thanks for stopping by!!

Good Wednesday Morning,

The clinic went well yesterday. Learned all about different running shoes and compression socks. I guess a lot of runners swear by compression socks on long runs. I just can't see me doing a long run with socks up to my knees and shorts- not an attractive look-lol. Although I may feel differently if I get leg cramps at the longer distances. We did a 4K tempo run and another guy in the clinic and I ran together- we were way ahead of everyone else but that is okay at least I found a running partner.

Still only ate about 1500 calories- I am going to have a problem with eating more,I can see. I will be this 120 pound guy still trying to shovel 3000 calories/day down my throat - too weak to lift my arm up to my mouth - lol. I will get my mind and stomach around this somehow.

Today is another tempo run (3K) but I am going to do this one alone as I run usually at 3:30 or so and the clinic run isn't until 6:00 so I would have to drive back into town for a 15 minute run- doesn't make sense.

That is it. I hope everyone has a Great Wednesday!!

You struck my funny bone today - cracking up at the visual I have of long socks and shorts (even though I have no idea what you look like) - don't get me wrong - I'd still support ya. lol

Then - 120 lbs too weak to lift your arm to eat. lol - I know you'll work through it....feel free to filter some of the excess cals burned my way - I could use some extra help getting that scale number down.

Happy you have found a running partner...at least for the clinic.

Cowboy, have you got piccs up anywhere?

Also i have to say i've never known anyone who can eat a shit load of fatty and junk food and be skinny. My sister eats well. She doesn't over eat but she likes butter. I think its a myth that there are people who can eat as much as they want and stay slim. Just as i think people who are overweight eat a lot. Metabolism disorders are not that common.
