I liiiiivvveeee!!!!!
YAY!!!!!!! :D

Hey Cory! Good job on eating better now a days and being able to exercise a lot more! I just started reading your diary and I must say, your dedication to exercise is so awesome. I used to be pretty active myself, but I've calmed down a lot. Zumba is really fun, but I don't see myself doing it again unless i had a buddy to go with me. For now, I'll just stick to running around with the kids I nanny and walking my senior dog lol.

Alrighty guys. My cough is mostly gone and my congestion is all the way gone. I think it's time to get back here for real. I actually haven't been to bad the last little bit. I think since I've moved, I've only had one day that was above 2,000 calories? I want to get back into posting my food regularly. That seems to help me.

House is getting in order. Being sick kind of threw a wrench in unpacking and such, but I'm getting there. Now I can start doing things to make it MINE. Got called a diva the other day for wanting to build trellises to put climbing roses on for privacy instead of just a regular old hedge or fence. I want it to say, "I care about aesthetic....but also leave me alone." :p

I think I'll try to go back to zumba today. This will be the first time back to the gym since I've been sick. Also, I've decided to compete in my first Highland Games on the 14th of April, so my training will shift to help that probably. I'll check back in later today to update my food. Hope everyone else is doing well!

Roses are amazing but they don´t make great hedges in temperate climates. You really only get 5 months of coverage from them, diva or no. Competing in Highland Games sounds exciting!

Good to hear that you are back to feeling well again Cory & planning new & exciting things :)
Diva? Was that your brother? :D

Ok, quick summary of the weekend. It was BAD. Fun, but bad. It was my brother's girlfriend's birthday so there was a lot of bad food and alcohol. However, I am FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY down in weight. Haven't updated my ticket yet, but I'm down a pound to 242. I know it's not much, but I've basically been hovering between 243 and 246 for 2 months. Basically since I rejoined here. I'm hoping if I'm decently behaved for the rest of the week, I'll still see loss this weekend in spite of my bad behavior the last couple days.

Also, today will be 29 days soda free. Pretty cool.

Yesterday was ok. I had to bribe myself with Chinese food to finish my cleaning at the house I moved out of instead of dragging it out for another day. And now it is done and I can focus on my own house now. I did at least try to pick something pretty unobjectionable. Shrimp with garlic sauce is basically just shrimp and vegetables.

Food:
Breakfast: chocolate chip muffin - 460 calories
Lunch: steak wrap - 670 calories
Diner: shrimp with garlic sauce and an egg roll - 898 calories
Total: 2028 calories

I did get 10,000 steps in (a lot of it running up and down two flights of stairs). I would say yesterday was reasonably successful. Just a smidge higher on calories than I want, but not too bad.

I see you're counting calories in but you're not so clear on the calories out. If you have a net difference of -250/day for a week, that's 3500 in 14 days and a pound gone every 2 weeks. If you were to take your weight daily and average it for each week as a mid week weight, you'd have a damned good estimate of what reasonably successful meant. You might have a better pucture of your actual calories burned over the two weeks and could narrow down your TDEE.

I'm not diligent on the input side so can only assess a net difference through scale averages but this might help you fine tune what you want to do.

Nice that you're getting the old chapter closed so you can move on.

Hale: I generally have a pretty good idea of what's going out. I know my Sedentary TDEE is around 2250 calories at my current weight. I also know I probably burned 250-300 calories with my 10,000 steps (I generally under estimate based on myfitnesspal because they often over estimate). So, I probably had a TDEE of 2500-2550 that day, with a deficit of around 500 calories. I usually like to be closer to a 750 calorie deficit, which is why I defined it as reasonably successful, but that I ate a little more than I wished I had.
Everyone else: Thank you! I'm very excited to get set up and start decorating and planting things.

Yesterday was good. I went back to M's dance fitness class (the hard one) for the first time since I was sick. Honestly, I felt like an old trash bag the entire time and he must have been able to tell because I did not get yelled at once the whole time, which is atypical. I managed to stay for two classes, although I probably should have left after one. It was just so good to be back and see my friends.

Breakfast: half a doughnut - 185 calories
Lunch: steak wrap and onion rings - 970 calories
Dinner: spaghetti - 758 calories
Total: 1913 calories

Exercise:
2 hours dance fitness (1,000 calories burned)

Yesterday made 30 days soda free!

Ouww! A dance fitness class where you get yelled at? I really could not cope with being yelled at!
Glad you're feeling better Cory :)

TruSylver: Thank you! I'd like to break 100 days.
Cate: He means well. He's just trying to help us get the most out of our workout. :p The worst is when he decides the whole group aren't trying hard enough and he starts the whole song over.

Yesterday turned bad in terms of food. I had planned to have a muffin, skip lunch, and then go out for a celebratory dinner with my brother and his girlfriend upon returning the key to the place I was renting. Sort of an official welcome into this next phase of my life. That would have had me at around 1900 calories. Unfortunately, I have a coworker that is struggling with a workplace bully and she came into my office on the verge of tears and begged me to go out to lunch with her so she could vent. We went to some kabob place she really likes (she's originally from India) and I wound up with butter chicken. Total calories for the day was around 2900 by the time that is factored in. I generally order the butter chicken because I don't really like a lot of the kabob options (sketchy unidentifiable meat is not for me), but I found out they have a vegetarian menu so next time maybe I can get a veggie masala or something.

Didn't do any exercise. Felt incredibly fatigued and I think it's left over from being sick. I really need this stuff to go away so I can be back to normal.

Also, I'm thinking I might try to save up flyer miles and visit the UK in the next year or two. I went when I was 16 and it was lovely. Not really related to weight loss, but it's the first trip I've really decided to take by myself as an adult without my family coming too.
