Just got back from zumba. I'm really happy I went. It made the day seem less crappy. :p Maybe tomorrow I'll have an epiphany with my code. Bring on the chicken noodle soup!

Some snow wouldn't hurt too.

Great job on the zumba class. Exercise classes used to make me feel alive!!! i wish i could go them again! For now it's DVDs for me! Look forward to having the confidence and mainly the fitness level to go to class again. 2 years ago I used to do 3 classes in a row!! & loved it!

Hey Cory -

Wow, I love your approach to food and eating. I love the idea of making your own food (like the noodles) or eating it as fresh as possible (such as the meet). I have been trying to do this more recently. Next year I am thinking about making an investment with a local organization that connects people around the state with farms in order to get all kinds of farm fresh food; fruits, veggies, dairy etc. You're definitely making me think harder into that!

Hope you are well!

Camilla, I think it's really important to know how to make your own food. It means you can control exactly how much sugar and salt goes into it. The pre-made stuff always has more sugar and salt than you need to cover up the food additives. Plus, I just enjoy cooking. :D

Here's the update for today. Had two pieces of toast with honey, a glass of milk, and a tangerine for breakfast. Lunch was leftover chicken noodle soup. Dinner was not great. My brother and I went out to eat and I got chicken tenders with a salad and mashed potatoes. I had water to drink and only ate half of my tenders, so I guess I'm not too bad off. I maybe wouldn't have gone out tonight, but my brother is sick and said htis was what he wanted. Pilates was great tonight. My abs are so tired and I know I'm going to be super sore on Friday.

I'm really tired right now, but promise I will catch up on people's diaries tomorrow night.

Good job on leaving some of the food on your plate Cory. Sometimes that's all it takes when you eat out.

Hey Cory -

I agree with MrVee! You clearly exercised some self-control. That is such a huge discipline to master so feel good about that! Also feel good that you are such a great sister!

Hope you are well :)

Weigh-in day tomorrow. I'm feeling pretty positive. I've tried really hard this week with both my food and my exercise. I'm hoping to see my first 10 lbs come off, but I won't be disappointed if I don't get the necessary three pounds to make that happen.

Here's what went on today. I had some of my homemade bread, toasted and with some honey for breakfast. Lunch was leftover chicken tenders and an apple. Dinner was leftover chicken noodle soup. I really wanted a glass of sweet tea today, but my brother had finished it all off. Maybe tomorrow. I went and did zumba tonight. The girl who usually teaches on Wednesdays was subbing tonight (the class that makes me feel crappy) and it went surprisingly well. I didn't walk out of there today feeling bad about myself. I can definitely tell that my fitness is improving.

Really proud of myself this week. This was one of the harder weeks I've had this semester, but I still managed to get to the gym every day.

I swear every time I come to your thread I drool all over it....homemade bread with honey.... :drool5:
Well done on the exercise. You go girl! Going to the gym when you are super busy that's totally admirable. Kudos to you!

5 pounds this week, bitches!!! That means I'm over my first 10 pounds. I now have fewer than 100 pounds to lose. In three pounds I will be in the 250s, which I don't think I've been in for 5 years or more. :D

I did go out to eat with some co-workers for lunch today, but I'll take it light for dinner. Maybe leftover something or other. I didn't get to go to zumba today. Fitness classes at my university were cancelled after 2:30 because of spring break starting, but I did go on a walk with my mom today. I need to see what the local rec center has to offer next week so I can still take some classes even though my usual ones are cancelled. This will also come in handy over summer break too. It's more expensive, but I think it's worth it.

12 POUNDS IS AWESOME! I think I gotta get myself one of those 5 pound weeks. Actually I'll go ahead and take one. I'm going to be a maximum of 319.8 next Friday. Thanks for the great idea. Why didn't I think of that?:rotflmao:

Thanks everyone! Quercus, I honestly don't know how it happens. I've been shooting for 2 pounds a week, roughly, because that's a healthy rate to lose at. I'm not even 'dieting.' I mean, I don't pig out or anything like I used to, but I still basically do what I want (within reason). I guess it's all the exercise.

Yesterday was pretty bad, from a food standpoint. It was my mom's birthday and I made a cake with 3/4 of a cup of lard in it. And frosting. With more lard. We also went out and ate A LOT of Italian food. However, that was the only meal I had yesterday. I was still probably in the 2500 calorie range though, but that's ok to do every once in a while. My mom and I still managed to take our walk too.

Not sure what'll happen today. I might take a day off from the exercise. My feet are pretty sore. I'm starting to get hungry too, so maybe I'll go upstairs and make a 'mater sandwich, even though I know I'll be disappointed because it's the middle of March and no tomato is a good tomato in March. Not sure what will be for dinner tonight.

I need to go to the local rec center and buy a pass for fitness classes this week. It's spring break and the ones through my university are cancelled, but I still want to go and get my exercise. Definitely more expensive than my university, but it's only for a week and I think it's worth it.

Hey great idea to get exercise at your local rec center - it's more motivating than DVD at home.
I had a bit of pi-out weekend too..i need to step up the exercise!! :D

Cory, I must say that I strongly disagree with you on the tomato thing! LOL I could literally eat a tomato anytime anywhere like it were an apple. I love my tomatoes! :)

Seriously though, I wouldn't worry too much about having a bad day with the cake and italian. I don't think it'll hurt your progress much if any at all. So long as you're back on track again which it sounds like you are. Keep up the good work! :)

Hey Cory- congrat's on 5lbs. loss this week ! fantastic gal !

good work on all the exercise- zumba, pilates, walks... U are the road to healthy & skinny ... lol ;)

keep up your good weight-loss work ...& hope you show that code who is boss !

Great job Cory!

I admire your dedication to find a way to workout no matter what the circumstances. And enjoying ourselves now and then is more than acceptable. As long as we don't fall victim to chronic overindulgence we are doing okay :)

Keep up the fantastic work! Have a great rest of your week!

~Camila~

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone.

Today was a good day, even if not from a health point of view. Had toast for breakfast and a sandwich with an apple for lunch. I had initially planned to have a nice healthy pot roast with brussel sprouts for dinner, but that got derailed. A friend asked me to come out with him and a couple buddies and I took him up on it. Had a great (but terrible) burger for dinner and a rum and coke. Pretty sure the bar tender gave me a double, but only charged me for single. I don't feel bad about the night. I so rarely go out with people that it was just too nice of an opportunity to pass up. And it was fun. I met some new people and let off a little bit of steam.

Tomorrow is zumba at the rec center. I hope it will be a good work out. I think the rec center tends to cater to older folks (like post retirement), rather than perky young college kids. I suppose it will be as hard or easy as I make it.

It is great you had a night out without going overboard with the bad stuff, everything in moderation, well done.
