Weight-Loss Continuing on with Accountability

Weight-Loss
Challenge this week

No-one else seems around at the minute so I will propose a new challenge for the coming week.

My challenge is that we should ensure that we get our 5-a-day portions of fruit or vegetables.

Thanx Margaret:)I was hopin ya would, give me a week days or so and I will be back...

Hope that you are feeling better soon.

I thought that with your personal challenge being what it is - the 5-a-day would not be too onerous for you when you get back into the swing of things.

Ha I meant a few days...geeesh...Im feeling a bit better ya...my energy is still pretty low but im on alot of antibiotics...the swelling in my face is alomost al gone and im no longer in constant pain...the only exercise i am having is tennis twice a week but that is better than nothing...

Thank God for antibiotics. It is funny to think that not that long ago there was no such thing. I have no idea how people used to cope.

I am pleased to hear that things are improving. You are doing really well to get any exercise in while all that is going on. We all know that it helps us - and helps us to feel better about ourselves if only we can be bothered - but pain has a way of making us not be able to be bothered.

Tuesday was a another well controlled day. I did eat a proper meal which was healthy. I managed to have some extra water again. Tuesday tends to be a very busy day for me with various appointments. I did my long walk on the treadmill first thing and then headed out. I didnt get home and have my breakfast until after 2pm.
Main meal was a pork loin steak and a tin of baked beans. Otherwise I had 3 weetabix, skimmed milk and sweetener, 3 * 0% yoghurts, sugar free jelly and fruit. A few sugar free sweets and some sugar free chewing gum.

Wednesday was an altogether less well controlled. I have caught a bad cold / flu from Rod and it does not make things easy. I did eat a proper meal which was healthy. I managed to have some extra water again. I did all my walking on the treadmill.
Main meal was dusted plaice and a tin of baked beans. Otherwise I had 3 weetabix, skimmed milk and sweetener, 4 * 0% yoghurts, sugar free jelly and fruit. A few sugar free sweets and some sugar free chewing gum. In addition - far too many raisins, lots of fresh orange juice (which is high GI and therefore not recommended for me), some honey and I did pick at other cereal.

Thursday continued the less well controlled theme. I did eat a proper meal which was healthy. I managed to have some extra water again. I had to go to the shops so did my pilates class anyway - but did my morning walk on the treadmill. All that I can say is that when I am poorly I can get an uncontrollable desire to eat bread!!!!

Main meal was roast pork, bisto gravy, carrot, onion, cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage. I skipped my weetabix because I knew that I would be eating bread anyway. Had a tin of soup with bread in, made a bread pudding - my share was using 0.5 pint skimmed milk, 1 egg, raisins, small amount of olive spread to grease the dish and sweetener. 3 * 0% yoghurts, sugar free jelly and fruit. A few sugar free sweets and some sugar free chewing gum. In addition - far too many raisins and lots of fresh orange juice (which is high GI and therefore not recommended for me).

Sounds a good idea getting rid of the points system. Rod and I are feeling much better thanks. I am pleased to see that you are too. I was getting a little lonely in the thread by myself.

I am trying to lose the weight that I put on when I had flu. We always believe in feeding any illness in this house. My self control diminishes and I gain weight - especially with no exercise from Friday to Tuesday inclusive. I am still losing the same pounds that I lost before we went to Greece. It all gets a bit repetitive.

Im glad to hear you guys are feeling a bit better...I have been on a bad eating binge, ha ha ha!Not even worth reapiting in a diary or log, lol...

Thurs was the worse, I had Subway, tom hortons (only 3 timbits and a hot chocolate) Mcdonalds at midnight, LOL OUCH! Then Mcdonalds for dinner on friay and Boston pizza before that...and a chai tea latte from star bucks...and then im at my parents for the thanksgiving weekeend so ya eating not been good...

Im looking into boot camp once a week for now and then a weightclass on sat morning, these are starting at the end and beginning of the month...

Im working on picking things up,Im tired of my weight...need to exercise more...step things up and go to the next level.

No junk food as most people understand it - but I ate plenty of healthy stuff in a very uncontrolled way.

Cerella - Well done for getting to grips with the 5-a-day idea. I really have so much fruit it is silly.

Here is a quick catch up posting to zoom through the past week or so.

Exercise:
A basic 7 miles each day pretty much every day - most days on the treadmill. I have not been doing much more than that though. A pilates class on Thursday.

No junk food. Have been really pleased with the way that I have been back on track this past week.

Plenty calcium. I had my weetabix with lots of skimmed milk every day. I know that my weetabix plus 2 yoghurts gets me to my target. I have been having at least 4 yoghurts every day - and a couple of days saw me have 6 of them.

Water:
3 litres of water every day.

5-a-day:
Tons of fruit and veg every day.

Weight on Tuesday:
9st 7.4lbs i.e. 133.4 pounds on Tuesday 14/10/2008
9st 4.8lbs i.e. 130.8 pounds on Tuesday 21/10/2008

I am almost down to the weight that I was before I went on holiday in August. I am hoping to get back to my low weight of 9st3.0 i.e. 129 pounds before too long.

The question is whether I can keep my hand out of the cereal box and away from the raisins over the next week.
