I had two pepperettes and a serving of full-fat cheese, well within my calorie limits for the day; I gained 7.4 lbs overnight.

For ****'s sake, scale. Why must you be this way. :D

You're obscene! In the dirty way... Yeah, I'm not really sure where I'm going, here.

Anyway, I'm going to do 2 of my regular cardio sessions today and another 2 tomorrow to make up for missing it yesterday. It was actually just that I got really sleepy after... eating pepperoni, but I'm not accepting any excuses. Also slowed the pace a little bit, as you can see. Just while I'm doing double duty.

I feel pretty crap right now, and I imagine I will for a few days until my body adjusts to this keto stuff.

Yeah. I think you're right. Beginners gains. But I'll take advantage of them as long as I can. I've always been surprisingly strong/fast/etc. for my conditioning though, so I'm anticipating veyr good things.

It's funny how it's only the next day (not time to weight train again yet) and I already miss it. In advance. Haha. Gonna be a rough week for me, forcing myself not to weight train, and eating such heavy meals. Eating 600 calories in one go makes me sleepy now. Haha.
 
is your scale on a flat floor? Is it a good one? OH- and are you getting up and eating in the middle of the night without knowing it? how do you know? Have you set any booby traps to catch yerself? Mybe tie your toe to the bedpost or soemthing./.....

Hahahaha, FF. It's a possibility. I mean, I usually sleep like the dead, but who knows what all this "healthiness" is doing to me. I'll have to set some sort of a snare in the hallway, and a spike trap on the fridge door handle.

****, keto is taking me for a ride. I'm supposed to 'eat when hungry, until satisied'. Well, I ate breakfast, and I haven't been hungry yet. Just sleepy, all damn day. I fell asleep for 2 hours at the office and got busted my boss. Apparently she tried to wake me and I told her to **** off. (I don't remember it, lol, I swear).

Also, I ALREADY HAS A SPREADSHEET. :rofl:

Hahaha, yep. And sure, I'll capture some of the charts my program makes in a bit. It'll be pretty embarrassing for me, but I'll do it. :p

Right now I gotta go do my "punishment" cardio. Honestly I think I'm just making excuses to do more cause it makes me feel good. :)

about an hour ago, my appetite has made a bit of a recovery. Ham and cheese. Moar hamz. Moar cheez. Splendid.

It's a little disconcerting, though. Psychologically, I mean. I feel like I'm on an uncontrolled binge, eating this way. But, uh, I'm just doin' what I'm spose to. Honest. Then I looked at my charts and I've had 2100 calories today, which isn't all that far above what I'd normally take in, and definitely still deficit. Seems like a lot more, is all. Shiet, that Berliner ham whet my appetite. I'mma go cook and eat a whole cow. I wish I had some trout.

I'm finding keeping my carbs under 50g pretty easy so far. Didn't anticipate any difficulty. I don't even like sauce on my food. Just the taste of beautiful, beautiful meats and cheeses. Yeah, I'm pretty happy.

Man is this ever gonna suck if I have to switch back to the more zone'ish eating. I will cry.

Edit: Forgot to add that I should have some ketostix tomorrow. Just to be on the safe side. If my body doesn't switch in and out of keto very quickly, I'll be shocked, given its previous "adaptive smugness". -_-

Haha, no, but I wanted to. (Those ****ers close early on Sundays). Then I got this awesome tip about a butcher shop nearby that buys from Hutterites who do everything organic and grass fed. And the craziest part is, pound for pound it costs less than Costco. My fridge and freezer are literally packed to the brim with meat and a variety of cheeses. And like one bag of broccoli. XD

Seriously, I am eating like a king right now. And I don't I mean the little pansy asses like Louis XVI or Nicholas II. I'm talking Henry VIII.

My energy and the quality of my rest are taking a pretty sizeable hit in the transition to keto. Need to get a good multivitamin and multimineral. I miss the A++ scores my program was giving me for nutrition. Now it's all F for fail. :bncry:

On the plus side, I can tell my metabolism is revved right up. I'm burning hot. Literally. I feel like I have a fever. Didn't have a chance to grab ketostix or a thermometer today, but will do tomorrow.

Yeah man, definitely gonna need a multivitamin on keto! Maybe that is why you are feeling so ****ty. I would also recommend a potassium and magnesium supplement too..

I really want to hear what your eating though because you are feeling crappy... plus I am really curious to see why you gained 7 pounds overnight that one time.

Did you just start keto in the middle of the day when you still had insulin flowing around in your system? Or did you start in the morning? I am curious to see how many carbs/protein/fat/calories your eating too....

Are you weighing your food? Because things like pepperoni add up so fast..

I wanna get to the bottom of this! :)

EDIT: Also, in the first week or so of keto it is recommended to keep carbs under 20g, not 50g. Trust me, I learned the hard way and it took me six days to switch. Also, I would cut out the whey protein during the induction stage.. that kept me out of ketosis.

Under 20? Hmmm. I was at about 30 or so yesterday I think, but under 20 should be easy if I stop eating so much processed junk like sausage and beef jerky. Just wanted to get the cravings out of my system.

I kinda started midway through the day, as you say. Well, at the end, technically. So, mid evening. That's why you don't see me complaining too much about the sudden weight gain, haha. I kinda figured. Also I haven't err, done a number 2, since I started, so that's probably like 2 lbs or more right there, plus the sudden huge spike in sodium.

I'm not feeling *that* crappy. Crappy for me is like... not super energetic, haha. I'm just not enjoying eating all this grease. Not used to it at all.

Also, I just discovered that high-fat beef is gross. Emeril is right, it's all about the pork fat. Ham and bacon. Yea-yeah.

Now that I've gotten over indulging all my food fantasies I'm tightening it up. No more sausage, basically. Only 0 carb meats. The cheese I'm eating also has under .2g carb per 110 calorie serving. And I don't use any sauces or what have you cause I actually like the taste of plain food.

I am taking a fiber supplement that contains a small amount of sugar, though, so that's nearly 10g right there (at 3-4x a day). It's crazy how sweet it tastes. When I was eating myoplex bars all day it tasted like sand, now it tastes like my PWO drinks.

Edit: For some reason I've spent years thinking I don't like ham, and I just cooked this ham steak, jaysus. It's so good it makes me want to throw the ground beef tex mex type stuff I made in the garbage. I think I'll get the majority of my beef and chicken lean, and fish (with the exception of salmon), and get all my fat from pork. Pork fat tastes good! The rest taste terrible to me.

Edit: Also, yeah, I'm very careful about my portion sizes. Everything is very precise.
