Consistency. It's not a pizza topping.

Hmmm. Yeah, I was wanting something with a larger surface area. And I never liked the grooves. I don't understand the point of their existence, and they make an already obnoxious clean up process more irritating.

I'm not really a fan of eggs, period, but hard boiled I can handle better. I think it's pretty funny that shellsy has a hard time boiling them so they'll peel easy, cause it's really super simple. Bring them to boil in the water (having added a little salt), and when they're done soak them in cold water for 10 minutes. Simple.

Anyway, I ended up eating all 4 slices of bacon, which supposedly contains nearly 800 calories. That doesn't really seem right to me. I mean, nearly a cup of bacon grease comes out, so that should affect the numbers, shouldn't it? I gotta start limiting myself to two slices of bacon a day, or stick with ham steaks, maybe. Bratwurst are much more filling. Had two of those, too, hahaha.

I'll finish the day at 2500 calories, 24% protein, 75% fat and 1% (10g) carbs. Bacon and bratwurst, is where they came from. I really should get away from the brats, now that I've ditched the pepperoni and such, but they're so good... and I'm actually a little worried that my protein intake isn't quite up to par, so a little bit of carb will have a muscle-sparing effect.

Edit: Yeah, I'm gonna weigh my bacon after frying tomorrow, and see what DietPower has to say aboot that. That calorie number just seems much too high. I think that info is for the raw bacon.

When I went to Canada I didn't meet anyone who said 'aboot' until I went to the Astrodome, where there was a dude with a Canadian accent so comical I had to hide from him. He sounded like a guy doing and impression. Maybe he was just messing with me.

I don't often say aboot, or eh. I actually have to work at it. I also try hard at including slang and contractions. If I didn't, I would sound like the old professor dude in My Fair Lady. I still do, mostly. My friends make fun of me. :bncry:

210.2 today, and 96.8 F.

Interesting. Only ate 2500 calories yesterday; all my ratios were right on. My temperature's going UP, not down. And, my weight's dropping, fast. Hahahahaha. :SaiyanSmilie_anim:

I was looking in the mirror today, and my stomach is like half the size it used to be from the side. It barely protrudes past my chest anymore. Two more sleeps until I get to weight train. I'm so excited. :D

People who talk to me say they can tell I'm from Chicago, but there are a lot of little dialect things I purposely avoid. They aaalll come out after a few drinks though, and I sound like I should be eating hotdogs and yelling at people crossing the street while wearing a Bears sweatshirt with no hood and asserting that Ditka was the greatest coach ever.

Hey that sounds like Christmas!

Y'know, I don't think I know what Chicago sounds like. All's I know is the one time I was there (for one friggin day) I got into a traffic accident (oh my gawd stereotypes is truf!).

It was really quite ridiculous. There was this tunnel, right, and at the end of the tunnel is a traffic light. So of course bitches are going to speed through the tunnel and oh look it's me stopped at the light and wham, there goes half the back of my vehicle. Then mother****er's insurance company tries to tell my company they're not gonna pay. I'm like "Hay hay hay, too bad I carry a camera and have photographic evidence. Now I'm going to **** you in court. I'm gonna **** you hard. :D" And then they tried to settle, but the beast had already been awaked (lol). And, uh, it was alright in the end. Quite profitable, actually, but still a pain in the ass.

And yeah, that's all I know about Chicago. Quite profitable, but a pain in the ass.

Well, I actually grew up in Northern Indiana, but I love Chicago, I feel like it's my city and I get real excited when it's on TV because I know all those places. It's got a lot of character, and that's why I love it. Indianapolis is bland. If you want to see really bad driving take a ride up to the top of the Hancock building and watch the drivers. Chicago driving is a whole new animal.

Of all the cities I've visited, Chicago was cool, but low on my list of coolness. Wrigley was about the best part, and also the fact that my team beat the Cubs!

Oh, mans. My boss is probably the funniest lady in the world. Weird funny, though.

There's pizza, right, and she knows my diet stuff, 'cause we chat excessively. (There isn't anything else to do around here, seriously, and I hope no one who reads this thinks I'm bragging, because it's really quite awful - I actually prefer to have lots of work to do). Anyway, she keeps insisting on my having some and I'm all, "Damnit, woman. You leave me alone, or I will turn green and smash your office. Then I'll pee on your truck, while you watch, just like the last time we had pizza together."

Now, for most people, this would be some sort of deterrent (I like to think so, anyway), but what does she do? She picks up a slice (while we're talking some actual business) and slowly picks off all the meat and cheese. Then she 'licks it all clean' with her tongue and piles it up on a little paper plate, and I'm not saying anything because I figure she's just strange as ****. But, after she's done, she offers it to me saying, "See? Now there's no way there's any carb on there. Have some, it's good. It's so thick and tasty."

And I couldn't help it, I just yelled, "THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!" And laughed and laughed and laughed. Then I said something about herpagonosyphillis and her saliva and she got real mad at me. :D Now people are giving me very strange looks. This is officially the best day of February 2008.

What? This is diet related. My journal is not turning into a schoolgirl type diary. Why would you say that. :bncry:

90 mins stationary cycling, 29.7 miles, 1254 calories

Actually did about 10 or 15 mins more, but I'm not counting it cause I had to hop off and go (ran out of time). Came back and finished it later. Also, I've been taking the full dose of ZMA since I'm not taking my bars anymore, and I'm back to sleeping well.

209.8 today, 69.0F.

Except I think my thermometer's set to rectal or armpit or something. It's supposed to take 20 seconds to beep for oral but it only takes about 5. Only problem is, I can't figure out how to change it. The instructions reference doing so, but they never actually tell you how. And since there's only one button... Damn. Shouldn't have got the cheap ass Life model. :p

My weight loss is disappearing again already. Man, I'm not even down a few lbs for the glycogen yet. Curse you, genes. Also I used another ketostick yesterday and got the same result as last time, 1.5'ish, but that I don't really give a **** about.

Edit: Interesting. Took my temp again (I went back to bed XD), and it was 70.1 F. Think I just woke up too early and was cold. Also it took the full 20 seconds to read. I think I was moving my tongue around and that messed it up. And my weight became 209.0. Very interesting.

not taking your bars, what bars? I just starting some ZMA too, I'm sleeping like a baby! :D

Myoplex Deluxe Bars. I was taking them while I was on a balanced diet. They're full of all kinds of vitamins and minerals. And sugar, too. -_- Which reminds me, I need to start taking the separate glutamine I got, also.

So I guess I gotta start eating flax instead of taking these fibre supplements. Getting paranoid about that 10g or so of sugar in there, even though it's pretty well the only carb I'm getting. I also stopped taking Chlorofresh because there's a nonspecific quantity of vegetable glycerin in there. I think I'll just do without for a while. The "just plant" stuff tastes incredibly horrible, and I'm not convinced it does anything for me anyway.

I suppose I'll have to (coarse) mill the flax and just kinda eat it. Flax is gross, though. -_-

I has some coconut. :D Which Vogel says is okay to eat, then I noticed it has carbs. Also, I can't remember, but I think I only like it when it's sweetened/in something, in which case I loove it.

Edit: Oh, wow. Nevermind. It's delicious. I forgot how much sweeter everything tastes when you're not eating any carbs. Oh, snap, and I just noticed more than 2/3 of the carb is fibre. Awesome. :D

Bacon

So, it turns out what I thought was the caloric content of 4 slices of bacon is actually that of 12 slices! The info on the package is for the raw bacon, and the cooked and drained is way, way less (as common sense would dictate). Tell the people!

I get to eat 3 times as much bacon. What? I'm excited. :D Or, I guess I could just eat 6 slices (for 400 calories) and have two bratwurst and a couple eggs for breakfast. I think I might make it a staple. I don't think I'll ever get tired of it. I'm not like normal people that way. What I like, I can eat all day, every day, forever. :SaiyanSmilie_anim:

Oh, also, I've decided to continue eating 3000 calories a day (1200 or so more than I was on the balanced diet) for as long as my weight continues to decrease at or above the 2.4 lb/week pace, and see what happens. I know 1800 was probably too low, but it's hard to get away from the "less is better" mentality. Thus, I'm letting my body decide. :)

Heh, congrats on the bacon. I have no idea whatsoever what my bacon's calorie content is... my aunt gave me a big ass ziplock bag full of it, and there's only 3 slices left anyway..

It's kind of funny because when she gave me the ziplock bag full of bacon I thought.. ha.. there's no way I could ever eat this stuff. So I took it to my parents house over a holiday and put it in their freezer in the garage.

A year later I came back and the damn bacon was still there untouched, so I took it with me now that I was planning a keto diet.. lol. I also took a bunch of other stuff that they'd never eat.. some ribs, bunch of burger, chicken, steaks (my dad will probably miss those....lol).

But it's winter so they will just assume somebody ate them once summer comes (or just forget completely), My family is like too lazy to make meat unless it's on the grill in the summer, and only my dad ever does it. My family is full of a bunch of carb fiends! Argh!

I really like your idea of keeping the calories high while you are still losing weight... ya know? Why not. That way, once you are no longer losing weight you can adjust downwards a few calories and continue losing!

When I did my keto diet I took it really freaking low and plateaued right away. Since your planning on losing weight for a few months, better not take it too low right away, so good plan!

By the way, I told my Ma that I took all that meat... she always supports me when I do stuff like that... heh.

Haha, thanks. I approve of your plundering the family freezer. Good show. Do what you gotta do. Especially if you don't "gotta" (because that makes it even better). Hahahaha. :D

Haha, right on, Ma. Mine's the same way. I get away with whatever the **** I want. As a result I have almost no character.

Yeah, thanks for the support. I was thinking about it, and I know all the science and thinking behind why this makes more sense. I mean it should be obvious to someone like me when every time I start out and then BAM! plateau, almost exactly two weeks in, both times. Conclusion: not enough calories. And the thing is, many of the good peeps around here have told me so on more than one occasion. They were like, "that's not enough food." And I was like, "Hey I'm too stuck up and intent on doing my own thing to listen to you, but I'm gonna say it in a polite way." Just goes to show, y'know. Arrogance is the enemy of success. -_-

I also noticed that I was way off on the ground beef, too. 500g raw = 175 or so cooked, this time, so I've been eating less than I thought was 4000 and 3000 calories. Except for yesterday, where I didn't have ground beef or bacon. I'm finding that 3000 calories is way more food than I thought. Man, there is no downside to what I'm doing right now. I'm eating almost as much as I used to (I mean when I was on the all pizza diet lol), just healthier, and getting fit. And I feel great. And need less sleep. :SaiyanSmilie_anim:

90 mins stationary cycling, 30.7 miles, 1287 calories

I decided to just start skipping my 5 min "warm up" on this. The intensity isn't anywhere high enough to require one, and I find it's easier to settle into a good pace when I don't bother with it. So, yeah.

When I wake up I get to weight train. I'm so excited. :D I think I'm gonna do a serving or two of Metabolic Drive on waking, wait an hour, weight train, and then another serving or two of Metabolic Drive afterwards. Haven't really decided whether I'm gonna re-introduce WO carbs as soon as next Sunday, or wait the whole 4 weeks. I guess it depends on how strong I feel. If I don't notice a negative difference (I'm also off creatine now), then I'll wait.

ZMA makes me so sleepy.
