Complete B.S Thread

that depends, focus. Are you a communist? :D

I don't think there's actually a word for my ideology. But, uhh, you'd probably try to call me a libertarian (though you would be way off), or if you were desperate enough, you'd end up saying something about anarcho-primitivism, and then I'd have to e-beat that ass. :p

If healthcare were up to me I would say that everyone ought to have her own insurance. If he didn't, and he died, so what. That's what happens when you don't take care of yourself. If you can't afford it, well, that's ****ty. Get a (better) job.

I think one of my favorite comments on socialism is a joke that goes something like this...

jokeway.com said:
Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, was about to finish her first year of college. Like so many others her age, she considered herself to be very liberal, and among other liberal ideals she was very much in favor of higher taxes to support more government programs — what her dad dismissed as “redistribution of wealth.”

She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch conservative, and a rich one at that — a feeling she openly expressed. Based on the lectures that she had participated in, and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his, rather than benefit society.

One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher taxes on the rich and the need for more government programs. “You don’t need to spend money on these expensive furnishings in this huge house when there are people who need to earn more than minimum wage and better food!” she lectured.

To her shock and amazement, all The Donald said in reply was “Welcome to socialism.”

That’s it? she thought to herself — no argument? But before she could even think of a follow-up, he actually changed the subject! “How are you doing with your studies?” Trump asked her.

Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which left her no time to go out and party like other people she knew. She didn’t even have time for a boyfriend, and didn’t really have many college friends because she spent all her time studying.

Her father listened and then asked, “How is your friend Audrey doing?”

She replied, “Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy classes, she never studies, and she barely has a 2.0 GPA. She is so popular on campus; college for her is a blast. She’s always invited to all the parties, and lots of times she doesn’t even show up for classes because she’s too hung over.”

The Donald was closing in now. He asked Ivanka, “Why don’t you go to the Dean’s office and ask him to deduct a 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your friend who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA.”

Ivanka, visibly shocked by her father’s suggestion, angrily fired back, “That’s a crazy idea, how would that be fair!? I’ve worked really hard for my grades! I’ve invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard work! Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree. She played while I worked my tail off!”

The Donald slowly smiled, winked and said gently, “Welcome to capitalism.”

I agree with that, Focus. The problem is when insurance companies hire laywers to find holes in your case. I don't know if that happenes in America, but it happenes elsewhere. And it doesn't only happen if you have a bad insurance, it happenes anyway.

Well, then, somebody has to take them to task. Not the government. Maybe a (class-action?) lawsuit, a mass termination (or alternate subscription) of policies, or, if necessary, simple burning down of the homes/offices of those responsible. See how they ("the man" - not the claimant) like having to spend the money that should have went to a qualified claimant on personal security, psychiatrists and anxiety medication instead. :SaiyanSmilie_anim:

...There I go, already, with the anarchism. :D

that I definately agree with.
Problem is they can find loopeholes which makes it legal for them to not give you what you need.
You're insured for traffic accidents, and you get hit by a car, then the insurance company tells you that there wasn't enough traffic at that time that it counts as a traffic accident :D
damn that would pwn :p

I saw cloverfield last night

****tiest movie i have ever seen. The first time in my life i walked out of the movie.

Rambo was tight though, plenty of blood and action

Hey, Chillen! What about me?!?!? Who am I? :D

And what's funny with seeing Rambo? After the first movies being action classics, you gotta see what they come up with next :D

What is a hero? Some people think a hero is a person that helps others in some way. You don't have to have a hero-type job like being Superman or a police officer. Heroes are not always people who are strong and well known. You don't have to wear a fancy suit or fight a super villain or stop a meteor. Heroes are people that do something to help a person or community. Most heroes have strong minds and are committed to what they are doing. Heroes may play a big role in being a hero or the may play a smaller role. It doesn't matter if you do something big or small. It just matters that you did it! Sometimes you can be a hero just by helping someone carry their books to the library or helping a person with a math problem. You're a hero to them.

You are a HERO to us!

I just told my brother that I'm not on speaking terms with my mom because she sold out my tire company to "Big Tire."

None of which is true or makes any sense.

You'll get a bill.

What happens if you can't pay the bill ?

The usual ?

Collection agencies ......attacks on your credit rating ........ garnishee your wages and seize your bank accounts etc. ?

You are mostly right except, considering that 16% of the population is without healthcare, I don't know how rare this is.

Until recently, I've spent my whole life worrying about health coverage or a lack thereof. It's a real problem and everyone in this situation, 47 million strong, takes a gamble that they won't get sick. Inevitably, they do...

That's nuts IMO.

I honestly don't know how you guys do it - " i.e worrying about health coverage or a lack thereof " - it's just something I can't relate to up here.

I can't imagine ever having to give health care bills a second thought....our system up here isn't perfect, BUT worrying about medical bills is something that just isn't on our radar - ever.

The stupidest thing of all is that the U.S. and all of it's citizens would ultimately save money if the U.S. implemented a national healthcare system.

I suspect you're right.

Who and why would anyone be against contributing to this, particularly if it will ultimately save money? This is conservatism at its worst because it's just a matter of time before the U.S. will need to implement such a system. It's also, inevitable.

Again, I think you're right.

btw - do you happen to know what the price tag - in billions of $ - of either Hillary's or Barracks' universal health care plan plank ?

Georgen by entitled I meant that if someone goes to the hospital, they are given care. They are not refused.

Medical bills are one of the leading causes of bankruptcy. My father is planning to file I think because he has about 250K in med bills from my little brothers premature birth. He had insurance that payed 80%, but my little brother was in the hospital something like 59 days at around 50G a day. Of course my dads credit is ****ty anyways and he doesnt care.

My little brother is now 7 yrs old even.

Hey!
