HI All!
I have been reading these posts for a few weeks now-Ya'll are so inspiring! I started Cohen's monday and am so excited! I know that you arn't supposed to weigh all the time or check mesurements, but I havn't been able to contain myself. I have already lost 2 kilos! And about 5cm off my waist! I know that in the begining it is mostly water weight, but I really don't care :)
I am just excited to see things going down instead of up!!!

Well I guess I should introduce myself. I am 19 years old and 140lbs / 64kg overweight. I have been on so many diets already and had only managed to gain more weight. So after all that i had decided that I was never going to diet again and I just must have been ment to be a size 18. For a year and a half my weight stayed at 220lbs / 100kg and I was okay, eating whatever I wanted. Then I all of a sudden put on 40lbs / 18 kg it seamed overnight. So to make a long story short, we found Cohen's and I have been on cloud nine. I even stapled my old smaller clothes to my bedroom wall to keep me motivated. I can't wait for the day I can pull down the 18s and wear them again and then the 16s and the 14s and the one outfit that is a size 12. I'm not sure what to do after that though ( I've never been smaller than a 12) So I guess I will have to buy new clothes! Yay!

Well heres to all of you Cohenites out there - Keep fighting this battle, it is the last. Soon we will all be waving the victory flag high in the air and saying "Listen here all you sugary, starchy, and outright fatty foods, you have LOST, I will never let you take hold of me again! Yes! I can control my own life! NaNANA Boo Boo :D

My programs in!

Hi and welcome Clarrie

I am just writing to tell everyone that wishes do come true! the clinic called today and said my program is in already! so I pick it up and start tonight! had one last hoorah and had subway for lunch (not too bad) and I am well on my way. I am looking forward to clearing out the fridge (my housemate is away for two weeks so she can't complain) and filling it with cohens food and getting some spiffy electronic scales tonight! here I go!

don't worry about people saying you've gone from morbidly obese to just fat- people that care about you will probably be saying stuff like "you're looking much healthier, good work so far!" and "you're glowing and looking much happier"

That is exactly right Mermaid Sister, when I started to lose weight I got a HEAP of comments on an almost daily basis, right from the very first kilo I lost people would say they couldn't put their finger on what it was but I looked really well. I think that from the very first day I was on the program my body just glowed with health, just one kilo down and people were commenting on the fact that I looked so well.... so yes, I agree with you totally.

Feedback on Program Support

G’Day

I am just writing to enquire how many people are using the International Program and how many are attending or have access to a clinic.

It seems that the International consultants are not very interactive. Is that so? My consultant took about 1 & half hours with me at the induction interview at the clinic. She was very thorough and explained the reasons for certain foods being included and others excluded.

If you are not happy with the service, are you providing feedback to the main website so that Dr Cohen can improve the service? The program is just a miracle, it would be a shame if the service did not support the program.

I appreciate that not everybody is technically minded, but no one goes on a program such as this without wanting to do their best. We can undermine ourselves too easily if we don’t know why the program is structured as it is.

On a lighter note, I was working on a house today and the electrician came to change the stove. He was just speechless – he hadn’t seen me since Christmas 2005 – we didn’t get much work done for the first half hour as we wanted to know all about the program.

Good luck to those starting the program this week. It is an amazing journey and one which you will enjoy, particularly as the weight starts to melt away and you start to surprise people.

Cheers

Chelsea

Afternoon Everyone,

Magiclea - Many thanks for your encouraging words, you are so right 9.5cm is a good loss and i didnt take into consideration of my "cycle" which my consultant said can effect results for that week.

Welcome to all the newbies and i wish you all well with the steps to a new you:)

Another question - Is it possible to drink TOO much water? i recall reading, hearing or being told some time ago that too much water can also cause kidney problems

Hope everyone has a great night - i have my last hockey training for the year - YIPPEE - Grand final Saturday and it would so happens that we are playing at the same time as the Eagles?????

Have a good night;)

I just get quite angry sometimes and I know its coz I just want food!! hehehe! Anyone else?? Had my winge, it's all good - there's always tomorrow!
All the best everyone, We can all do it- its only for a time:)

Howdy Ya'll!

Welcome Clarrie!! And all the Newbies! Mermaid Sister - I am aso excited you have your program!! Waiting for it is harder I think than these first few days!

Chelsea - thank you for your very valuable input. I am on the internet plan and as Lessfatty stated we only get a little booklet - I haven't had any one consult me or contact me from Cohen's. I read the fruit sentence and interpretted it the same as Lessfatty had at first - fruit anytime - mainly because things you are specifically not to do are stated and "no fruit before breakfast" wasn't stated. That is why I find forum's soooo valuable. And why I ask seemingly simple questions at times. I have read my book over and over again - when ever I follow a program I follow it to the letter - I am very determined and I don't want to prolong anything! So - again - thank you! I am so glad you spoke up!

Lessfatty - once again THANK YOU! Great info and insights! You're the man!! Curious - you do not have a ticker tape - how far have you come on your journey and how far do you have to go?

Well - this is day four - a bit hungrier this morning - it was easy to eat first thing - I found the Ryvita crackers - absolutely LOVE them! Put my mayo alotment on one with tomatoe slices - mmmm, mmm - soo yummy! I feel like I am in heaven - I am losing weight and eating food that tastes normal - WOW!! I've never had it so good!

-/^~ Doing the Happy Dance!~^\-:D

Gotta run - catch ya'll again!

MITMARY7-

Dont be too worried about the weightloss slowing down, ive been going through it for the past 2-3 weeks and its too depresing to think about.. but it is going down (slowly) and thats all that matters. I first of all had a plan to be done by mid Nov.. but now im thinking with the weightloss being so slow that ill be lucky to be done by xmas.. but if im done by xmas ill be happy, i really just want to have a normal xmas with my family & friends and not sit around eating cabbage & crackers LOL

Ive just started walking again.. i stoped when i started Cohen's but im finding that im not hungry before dinnertime so im doing a 1hr walk 3 times a week now to increase my appitite and well last night it seemed to work and im feeling fantastic today!!

Let's do lunch - with a side order of fresh air

Gaygel and I are planning to catch up at some stage soon as we live reasnably close to eachother so that got me to thinking ... to all those ladies who live in the Bunbury area or thereabouts (I am in Harvey for example) how about we get together for coffee, tea or even fresh air?

I am happy to organise a time if everyone gives me a preference and I am also happy to even find a cafe that would cater to us if you like.

If you are interested drop me a line to curlycurves@hotmail.com and we can go from there .... we could even make it a reasonably regular get-to-gether.

I would love to hear from anyone keen to take part :D

My inspiration is/was Chelsea. It was her sharing and help that got me to were I am today...on the road to health and vitality; and in the social context not looking like a low IQ fat slob or being an embarasment to my elder daugher if I visit school is/will be great thing!

In my opinion the guide book the internet program guide is OK as a reminder but not quite enough as a standalone. The lucky members who deal with real consultants like most of the Australian and Singapore are indoctinated / inducted with the details for 90 minutes with a consultant answering questions more or less going through the guide and explaining the details. This would have been great.

However the internet program is cheaper (US$227 for 12 weeks) as I believe clinics in Australia charge AUD$680 ( US$550 ) for 12 months, so for those with a 20KG or so of weight to lose the internet program is cheaper.

In hindsight I would have prefered to sign up for a remote program from the Perth Australia clinic, as they are experienced dealing with people on phone and email who live too far from the city to visit the clinic. (I live in OS so this is very remote!)

I will update my ticker soon. I started 30 July, I am looking forward to reaching a big goal for me of 104.5KG. Twice in my history I have dieted and reached 105KG before some kind of physical or mental barrier was reached and the loss just stopped...followed by a slow return back to the 115~118KG level, this time I am VERY keen to see the scales register 104.5KG!!!

When I returned from a holiday to "asian food heaven" for me HongKong (dimsum/yumcha) and Bangkok (curries, spicy dishes, fresh fruits) in July, I weighed myself and I was a shocking 123KG, OK it was just after I had gotten off the plane and I was a bloated from drinking beer on the plan and had just spent 2 weeks of stuffing myself and resting at the pool, maybe in the back of my mind I thinking that I would start Cohen after my return. But anyway 123KG was personally shocking, 2 weeks latter after returning to work and eating normally my Cohen program arrived I was down to my pre-trip weight of 119.5, still 2KG more than what I had started 2006 (117.5KG), I had spent the last 11years in the 112~118KG range.

Currently I seem stuck on 106.5KG :-(, but I had to attend a 2 business events last week (welcome party for my new boss and thank you dinner for the team after successfully completed project), I drank tea and ate Cohen foods but I couldnt weigh it and the salad had a non-cohen olive oil based dressing on it. Because sharing food and drink during a celibration very central to human life/society, it is very hard to say no attend these events, so the best is to attend a have a plausable reason why you wont drink or overeat, "my doctor found that I was pre-diabetic, so I have no choice but to cut back and slim down" is the best I can do.

After 104.5KG; the next goal will be 91KG, my weight at marriage (25years old), at this weight I was a little bit chubby (a few folds of fatty skin on my tummy when I sit down). Below 91KG anything is a bonus, I will review my fat% and set the final goal...which normal for my height is in the range of 76~90KG, but I am thinking at around 80KG I will look "tall and slim" (rather than the current "big and fat") and have a 34in waist. I guess this is the guy equivalent of a size 8 for a lady :D.

Good luck to your all, whilst I think the Cohen diet is based on good science for internet members is delivered inconsistenly; yet following the plan and avoiding deviations as much as I possible can, I really feel very confident that I will get to my goal. I am feeling better and looking better each and every day.

Coco brandy, could you post the exact name product name of the Meiji Crackers? Is product is available in Singapore? I have problems getting the right Cohen approved crackers where I live, but I have seen Meiji crackers on the supermarket shelves.

Hello fellow Cohen Devotees

Hi everyone!
Finally a place where I can share my experience with people who know what I'm going through. Firstly let me just say, how good is Cohens? I am so lucky to have found this diet. I have lost a total of 25kg so far, but I had a wedding on the weekend where I was very naughty so my weightloss has stalled a bit but i'm back into it now. Has anyone else notice a reduction in their cellulite? I cannot believe how quickly this has worked, it has been an absolute god-send and besides the weightloss you just get the best feeling knowing that after so long you can actually control what you put in your mouth and you CAN avoid temptation! And how great are the girls at the clinic for giving support and tips. I deal with the Perth office mainly and they have been lovely. I just can't stop praising this diet. :D
