Great Idea!!

Jenn,

I think it's a great idea and it will help as you said, for those of us just starting out. We can also read and post on the 100 club too.
It's just more support for those who need and in specialized areas and stages that we are all in.

Thanks!

My last post did not make since:mad: it should have read.

report

Hey, guys! You might notice my tickers changed! I couldn't hold out until Saturday. I had to peek at the scale today. I made it 28 days without looking, and when I finally peeked, I was down 10 pounds! HOORAY!!!!

Haven't been doing any walking the last few days - took the kids to the pool instead. Otherwise, sticking to my plan and really happy for all the support. Hang in there, everyone! It's good to be on the same road together!

walking

They set a goal to walk as a group from someplace in Canada to Banff - some other place in Canada. :) It was over 500 km to start with. FYI - to convert miles to kilometers, just multiply the number of miles times 1.6 and you have km.

When you walk, run, bike, whatever - just subtract your distance from the running total and post it on here. It's a fun way to stay motivated to keep moving. Welcome to the group!

I'm Back!

Hi Everyone!
It's so nice to see so many new faces! Welcome everyone :)

The camping trip was great! Very relaxing and enjoyable. However...

I'm a bit nervous stepping on my scale Saturday morning! I didn't start out over eating, and I was making very healthy choices...but then mid way through the trip I started having a few more drinks...then a few more...and well, while we were sitting there playing games, I'd snack. More than I wished I would have :(

So, the extra snacking and the extra drinks probably have added up. I walked quite a bit, the walk to the beach was quite a ways from our camp site and then down (and UP) a VERY steep hill. I made that trekk at least 6 times - all total, I'm sure it easily worked out to 10 miles, however, I won't count those into our totals, since it was a slow walk - more like a stroll, except the up hill portion ;)

Anyway, I'll see the damage Saturday and in the mean time, I'm back to no snacking and taking it one meal at a time.

CONGRATS Twinmom on going 28 days and even more kudos on the 10lbs! Awesome!

Newbies!

The some place in Canada is Beautiful Vancouver to the Majestic Local of Banff. If you check earlier posts there are photos and information on Banff. So we are taking a beautiful and long tour through the mountains. Hope you have your imaginations and your parkas. It can still snow up in the mountains.

Sadly I did no exercise yet today. I'm taking a break!

yep

You can believe it, Troutman!

Welcome back, M2M, glad you had a good time!

Jenn, enjoy your exercise break. :)

I had my weigh day celebratory dinner that I have been looking forward to for about two weeks. Surprisingly, I did not eat nearly as much as I thought I would! I got full and quit, and as best I can figure I still kept my calories for the day to somewhere between 1650 and 1850. Yeah!

Walked 1.5 miles, or 2.4 km, so with troutman's 6.5, that brings us to...

403.8

I too find that I can't eat as much as I used to. I have been told that the stomach expands and contracts with the amount of food you eat. If you reduce the amount you eat, your stomach naturally contracts. Even though i am eating reduced portions now, I am getting full before I finish.

its odd how fast your stomach will shrink... well on the inside anyhow. i have noticed a loss of appetite but then again i used to get most of my intake frome cokes and juices and things like that. never realized how much you can take in just by drinks

yeah

I was thinking the same thing. I can't believe how quickly I have gone from eating 4 slices of pizza and not really being full to eating 2 slices and feeling satisfied. That whole stomach shrinking thing is a real blessing!

yea like tonight i had real food. beef roast and taters and roll and gravy. but i only managed to hold a small plate. before that would have just been enough to give everyone else a chance at some food lol....
