Club 200 Plus

Um this just might be a shot in the dark but I think that shinault is an advertisment. I appologize if it is not but I don't think you are allowed to advertise here.

Anyway

Hi guys I've been away for a couple of days. My friend is comming from out of town and I am busy getting her room ready. Bit if a mess. I didn't walk today but I went for a mini walk yesterday. .5kms only

Welcome to all new arrivals.

hi, Mamie

Hi, Mamie. :)

I did not go for a walk today, but I did spend over half an hour washing the car by hand. With two four-year-olds anti-helping! It was a lot of fun, but boy did we get wet! I think we might make this a weekly event. The car could definitely use it, we had fun as a family, and the calorie calculator seems to indicate that this activity burns about as much as going for a walk. (They have numbers for washing windows and dancing, both of which I did a LOT!)

Did you guys see my 20 calorie water trick I posted in the "Losing weight to get healthy" thread? I thought I might post that here, too. I have found that nibbling a 20 calorie Starburst candy while drinking a glass of water really helps me to drink the water - and quickly - even when I don't feel thirsty. And Starbursts are not something I have an urge to binge on. Maybe because it takes so long to chew up just one. I wonder if they might be like celery - just kidding. :D

syrup

Sorry for the extra post - I just had to share this...

I got Sugar Free Maple Syrup from the Cracker Barrel. It has been in my cupboard since Christmas, unopened, while I ate the sugary kind. :( Anyway, I opened it, and it is GOOOOOD! It is sweetened with Splenda, and it is 10 calories for 1/4 cup as opposed to 250 calories for 1/4 cup of my regular kind!!!!

You can buy it online for $2.99 plus shipping. Here is a link if anyone is interested...

Welcome Mamie. :)

And thank you Newbride for the deletion!

And thank you for the heads up Lee. :) I'm diabetic so it's good to know I have a sugar free option out there.

Tara, good job on giving up soda! It has so much sugar that you wouldn't believe. And absolutely no nutritional value. My eyes almost popped out when I checked the nutritional values. I've given it up too completely except on special occasions.

Okay, and to add to our club challenge... I did about 2km on the eliptical and 5 km on the bike yesterday. And then 1.5km walk around the neighbourhood.
That brings our new total to... *drum rolls*

462.1

I've been eating horribly this past week (a buffet, dim sum, and then a very starchy late meal with the family - horrible cause I'm only supposed to have 2 servings of starch and 3 oz of meat per meal). And to top it all off... I haven't been drinking enough water. :( So these last two days, I've been trying to really keep on track and be a good lil girl by watching everything I eat. And tomorrow, I'll hit the gym again probably.

Yall bare with me, Im new to this thread stuff...:) My weight got up to 280 lb at the first of this year and I was miserable. Last summer my husband Chris and I took our two boys to six flags and I could barely fit in the rides :( .
I just wanted to cry!!!! It was in July that I had had a severe bladder infection and since I HATE going to the doctor, I promised God that if he would help me, I would never drink soda's again. I used to drink 6 or 7 a day, no prob. ... Within two days I felt better! I firmly believe that my covenant with God is what did it for me. So, this February when I decided something had to be done about my weight, I prayed about it and asked for help. I felt that it was placed on my heart to only eat what God provides for me. Basically meat, veggies and fruit. I'm not saying this is what anyone else should do. So far I've lost 59lbs. I count my calories too. I've not been exercising much though. I bought a recumbant bicycle last weekend, and did eleven minutes and was ready to pass out!!! pitiful huh...!!!

Mamie---- that is great to have lost nearly 60 pounds with minimal exercise...

you will be ABSOLUTELY amazed at how much weight you will lose once you make exercise an integral part of your life!!!

God Bless!!!

It is hard to be a good girl every day. I know the feeling. So you have a bad week or two. You certainly have the right attitude get back into it.

I walked like I was one of those crazy fast walkers (not really) tonight for 45 minutes. If any of you use music to walk to I recommend the Pet Shop Boys. Excellent beats to walk to.

To add to our challenge I walked 4km's today. Which leaves us with

458.1kms

to go.

It really is starting to feel cozy in here. Welcome to all the new people.

AintMaime do you watch Y&R? Your name just reminds me of a character on the soap.

WOW! Troutman 21kms! You truley are inspirational.

That brings us to

437.1kms

Here is a quick website that converts your miles for you. No thinking involved.

stuff

C - You know you just need a big pimp slap. WHACK!!!!! There you go, now you have been punished and you can get back on track. LOL

Mamie - 11 minutes the first time out on a new piece of exercise equipment is a good deal! Don't think of that as pitiful. Think of it as a good starting point. Keep it up. You will be amazed at how quickly your muscles will develop, and you'll be doing 15 minutes, then 20, etc. We all have to start someplace! You should have seen me trying to jump a rope in my backyard the other day! WAHHHHH!!!! I thought I was going to DIE, and was only able to keep trying for about 15 minutes, but next time will be better.

Troutman - 7 miles??? Seriously, you should change your name to Ironman! ;)

I am so proud of myself tonight! The kids begged for pizza, and so we got pizza again. I did NOT overeat. I had two regular-size slices of ham pizza(didn't even go for the biggest slice) and one breadstick. I didn't snack at all today, but did have three meals. My calorie total was 1470 for the day - the lowest since I started counting!!! AND - I took my kids to the new pool at the YMCA and we played for about two hours! I was constantly moving because they have a little water park area for small kids, and it is way hard to keep up with two four year olds going up and down a water slide! :D

I don't think I would be doing so well without the support, especially from this particular thread. Love you guys!!!!!

I went out rowing again today. This time my wife and dog came along. It was good for me as it added extra weight to the boat. I rowed for an hour and a half while my wife enjoyed the scenery and said things like, "Hey, looks you're sweating. Are you sweating?"

It feels to good to be physically active again. Everything just seems better, more enjoyable.

That walking thing sounds like a fantastic idea - I have always found it very motivating to see my actions in a statistical sense. And how awesome are you going to feel if you've walked across Canada?!

Thanks, trout. I don't think that I was actually rowing for every second of that hour and a half but that is about how long we were out on the water.

When you talk about your running I wish I could too but I don't think my knees would stand for it (ha ha).

Maime

We have a walking challenge going on right now. We are Walking from Vancouver to Banff. Anytime you do some exercise make note of the kms (miles) that you do and subtract it from the running total. We make the running total large and in colour so it's easy to locate when you are logging your own kms.

Enjoy!

It's a great day...

It's a great day at... MY HOUSE! (Don't you hate companies that answer the phone that way?) But it is a great day. I have managed to stay at 1500 calories or less for three days in a row. I am feeling so good about my upcoming weigh day, I can't even tell you. I don't know if the scale will show any loss, but I can already tell a difference in my energy and the way I feel. BigBear, I know just what you meant about it feeling good to be active again. I had really started to feel a lot like a big bag of Dog Chow with feet. But not anymore!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!

Hi, Sweden. Welcome to the group. Wow, you've lost a LOT! You are down like 36% of your total goal. That's amazing! I can't wait until I am down that much of my goal.

Can you tell I'm hyper, because I am. :D Just having such a good week.
