Club 170s

:hurray::hurray: Balloons and cheers for a new member! Welcome Nelly! :hurray::hurray::party:

Great to have you here with us, and hope you enjoy looking through our archives! (Though I'm guessing you won't be here for long! But then - I think we're all on our way down, and out of here!)

We have been having a Fruit of the Month focus here, just for fun, with a fruit picked by different members in turn. (If you look back through, we've had honeydew melon, and oranges, and a few more.) Would you like to pick a fruit for January?

sorry for answering late ^^
I mean I've been in the 178-9 for the last week...could be a lot longer than I thought  (have been eating more though)
Sure, grapes?

Grapes it is! :D A great snack - but a bit calorific? Or do the nutritional benefits (or the fun of eating them) outweigh the calories?

i started my weight loss journey from 184 lbs and I'm down to 165 lbs. It hasn't been an easy road but with a lot of determination, I know I will achieve it. Came across a wonderful article with great insights to things to avoid in my weight loss journey.
You can check it out here link removed

Lovely to see you here again! I've looked up what nutrition there is in a cup of grapes (seedless, any colour), and it's:
  • Calories: 104
  • Fat: 0.2g
  • Sodium: 0mg
  • Carbohydrates: 27g
  • Fiber: 1.4g
  • Sugars: 23g
  • Protein: 1.1g
So that's a pretty good snack - quite a lot of lovely fresh sweetness, for only a hundred calories.

There's also Vitamin K and Vitamin C and manganese. The internet tells me:
Vitamin K is important for strong bones and blood clotting.
Vitamin C helps to keep immunity high and aids in repairing tissues, such as wound healing. B-vitamins are an important factor in metabolism, and in maintaining strong hair and nails.
I'm hazy about manganese, but I gather it's an antioxidant. :)

Well done, Nelly! :applause:

As for me, I'm sitting pretty cheerfully at 173/174, up one day, down the next. I will be making a move down - at least I plan to, but not for a few weeks. Whereabouts are you, in the 170s, @Petal001 ? I think you're planning on making the next move a bit before I do - is that right? (Don't feel you have to answer this right away - I know you're busy, and it takes a lot of time to go through the WLF posts! )

:seeya: Hello, out there! What news, Clubbers?
I don't have any - I was a shade under 174 this morning, and am still not looking to take the next deep breath and dive just yet. But still, here we are in February, which means the month of the grape is over and done (and an excellent fruit it was, too!).
Does anyone want to nominate a Fruit of the Month for February?

Oh dear - I had a bad day yesterday, too, thanks to a gift of peanut brittle.

So let's help each other... shall we both commit to no sweets at all and no added sugars for the 24 hours? Or for the next three days, maybe? And both commit to thirty minutes' exercise every day as well. Deal?
