Oh! Nearly the last day of September, and thus the last day that the Club is celebrating the dragonfruit, or pitaya or pitahaya, a name which is believed to have come from the old indigenous language of the Caribbean region, Taíno.
It was apparently the French who brought it from Central or South America - maybe Nicaragua, maybe Colombia, maybe Guyana - to Indochina. They brought it along at first (if the internet is anything to go by) as an ornamental plant, the same way that prickly pear was introduced to Australia. To which I can only say:

(But then again, I've never actually tried prickly pear.)
Now if this 170s Club bar were only real, instead of imaginary, I'd order a dragonfruit smoothie (something else I've never had) in honour of the Fruit of the Month - as it is, however, I'll give a link to recipe instead:
