Chris's diary

Now lets see. Did squats AND deadlifts on Sunday which turned out to be a very bad idea!! Reducing the wights on squats and concentrating on technique was a good idea however and I could definitly feel I had worked the muscles more than usual. I was in serious pain on Monday, which was not helped by that fact I was also hungover :(

My quiet weekend turned into an exceptionally LOUD weekend of fun and frivolity! I had forgotten a very old friends birthday and so, Sunday night was spent celebrating with beer, as was all day Monday!!! I'm certainly not as young as I used to be as it has taken me until now to recover! lol

Mind you, I did get to the gym yesterday for chest and triceps. Was very strict with form and can feel the difference today.

No cardio before breakfast this morning as I was exhausted and could not struggle out of bed! Cardio at the gym later to compensate though...

Back and biceps last night. Deadlifts to start with (which made my shins bleed!) and got through the rest no problems. Ordered some creatine caps today - I think the problem with the powder was that I kept forgetting to mix it with my drinks so, hopefully the caps will solve the problem.

Slept through my alarm this morning so, couldn't do any cardio again which was annoying.

Still, the sun is shining and forecast looks good for the weekend so, what else matters? :D

LOL, what else matters..hahaha!!

That was so funny!

Well sound like you need one of those alarm clocks that jumps off the table and starts rolling around all crazy when it goes off!!

It's tough waking up for morning cardio bro. I feel your pain trust me.

This morning I woke up and sat at the end of the bed for a good 10 minutes. I actually fell asleep sitting up for a second before I got out of bed....LOL.

Yup, we're all agreed, getting up early sucks and getting up early for cardio sucks even more! lol Still, managed it again this morning and got 30mins in. Weather is gorgeous today so, I may go to the gym after work or, I may just go out driving :) After all, there is always tomorrow morning...I'll let my conscience decide!

I've been sat at work bored today so, I've been playing around with my workout. I've decided to add another set to all excercises and implement pyramids. Haven't done pyramids for years so, hopefully my body will react well to it. I'll be doing 12, 10, 8, 6 on pretty much everything. Will post routine in a few days.

Will start on Monday as the weather is too good atm to even consider seeing the inside of a gym!! Roll on 4pm!!

Chris,
What brand of creatine caps did you just order? I've been using the powder too and ended up ordering some caps 2 days ago. I am a bit of a hard gainer and am trying to find something that works better for me. I'm also into martial arts and I find that creatine gives me a bit of an extra boost in class!

Sandy

Hi Sandy - not sure what brand they were but, I'll check tomorrow and let you know. Hopefully, caps will be the right thing for us both.

Added a 4th set to all excercises on legs and shoulders today. Definitly feel like I worked harder. Squats were good - managed to get really low and kept perfect form. Will feel it tomorrow though!

45mins on the elliptical too - then I went and laid out in the sun all afternoon. I love the fact that I don't work Mondays :D

Wow - I can tell its nearly summer, the diary section seems to be seeing a lot more updates at the moment!! Good work ladies :D

Couldn't get up again this morning. I really tried but, my body just wouldn't move so, I missed my cardio again!! I really must find a solution to this as its really starting to annoy me now.

Its another scorcher today but, instead of laying out in the sun, I'm going to do the right thing and hit the gym as usual after work. Just cardio and a swim tonight though. Maybe I'll still have time to catch some rays afterwards ;)

Did about an hours cardio at the gym last night and then headed out to enjoy the weather

Did 15mins cardio before breakfast as I figured anything was better than nothing plus I felt a little guilty as I had a couple of glasses of wine last night!

They have just implemented a rule at my gym where if you forget your membership card 3 times, you have to buy a new one!! I'm always forgetting mine but, its not a problem as everyone at the gym knows me. I have conveyed my displeasure to them - there is no way I am paying for a new card when I know exactly where mine is (by my bed, where I always leave it!). Anyways, rant over - suns still shining :D

They just arrived :D The brand is body fortress (aka cheap and cheerful ;) ) 240 caps (about 40 days worth). Its basically just the powder in a different format rather than a different form of creatine. It'll only be better for me as I won't forget to take the caps (I hope!)

Got to the gym last night, all fired up and ready to go - got into the changing room only to find I had forgotten my shorts!! Got stuck in traffic on my way home to get them and, by the time I got there, I'd lost all momentum so, didn't go back

On a good note, I was up at 6:30 today for half hours cardio before breakfast :D

Started taking my creatine caps yesterday so, will hopefully notice the difference over the next week or so.

I had planned on doing back and biceps today but, when I arrived at the gym, everything I wanted to use was busy so I did chest and tris instead. Back and biceps will have to wait til tomorrow. Added an extra set and did pyramids. Added some tricep pulldowns and did a bit of ab work too (not much though. Finished off with 30mins intervals on the bike.

I think it must be the weather but, I'm finding it harder to motivate myself to do cardio after weights lately.

hah! Maybe its because you have no fat left on your body!! just a thought! ;)

Haha - oh Jaymie, if only that were the case! Unfortunately, I am my own worst critic and the mirror tells me I still have a long way to go but, thanks for the compliment :D

missed you being around lately

Its encouraging to know someone actually reads my posts!! ;)

Woke up 15 mins late today but though, to hell with it and did my 30mins cardio anyway. Had to rush to make it to work on time but, feels good I didn't skip the excercise.

Going to the gym at 5pm today which coincides with the first game of the world cup. Hopefully, this will make the gym nice and quiet - I will watch the highlights when I get home. Its not as if its England playing!

England are playing tomorrow though so, there will be no gym for me. I will be spending the afternoon in the pub drinking beer and shouting at the big screen until I'm hoarse!! :D

Having dragged myself down to the gym on the hottest day of the year (thanks to JaymieB & LV) it turned out everyone thought it would be quiet like I did so, it was really busy :( Power rack had a queue again so, had to skip deadlifts! This is becoming a regular thing so, As of next week, I'm swapping back and biceps to Monday mornings and legs and shoulders will become Saturdays. These are the days I need the power rack and the only days I can go to the gym earlier than 5pm.

Anyway, added a 4th set to all excercises and did my new pyramid format which felt good. Only did 30mins cardio but, I ran out of energy completely! They have a new handbike which I've never used before so, tried it for 5 mins. It seems pretty good but, a bad idea after working back and biceps for an hour!! lol

Thanks Jaymie, I shall have much fun watching my team win :D It'll even be worth the hangover on Sunday morning :p
