Finally got back to the gym yesterday after taking a long weekend off to drive my new car around :D

Did chest and triceps but, skipped the cardio! I feel really guilty about it so, I'm just doing cardio tonight to make up for it.
 
45mins cross-trainer (intervals)
45mins stepper
10 laps of the pool (too crowded to do any more)

I walked to the gym and back too which adds 30mins of 'extremely mild' cardio to the workout. lol
 
Gym was extremely crowded today which I hate! Did back and biceps but, no real improvement on the weights. Went on to do 45mins stepper but, I have discovered a new problem....until the novelty wears off, I cannot allow myself to take my new car to the gym (its only a 15min walk anyway.) I found myself wanting to leave early so that I could go and drive it!! lol

Also, I think I must have "train with me please" tattooed on my forehead as 2 other people have asked if I want to train with them!!

Finally, I made some more protein bars today using a different recipe (egg whites, whey etc.) but, they look rubbish!! I've put them in the freezer to see if that can tease them into solidity! Hopefully, it won't be a total waste of ingredients. I wanted some with slightly lower carbs than the last batch so that I can eat them at night...fingers crossed!
 
Protein bars were a disaster (totally inedible) :(

Worse still, my shoulder came back to haunt me again today. Shoulder presses were fine, shrugs were fine, lateral raises were a bit 'clicky' but painless and therefore fine. Reverse flyes were not good! First rep and my shoulder clicked and I had a sharp pain which was bad enough for me not to attempt anymore reps :mad:

Spoke to one of the PTs and he is actually a sports masseuse aswell. He has recommended that, before he takes a look, I should see either a chiropractor for some manipulation ( sounds painful) or a sports therapist (sounds expensive) - I am open to any suggestions from anyone who has had anything similar hapen to them.

All in all, I am mightily f@@ked off :( Only managed 25mins cardio afterwards as I was in a bad mood.
 
25mins fasted cardio before breakfast to make up for yesterdays early shower. Shoulder is quite sore today when I lift things (which I have to at work) - will have to look up that chiropractor :(
 
Had a re-assessment of my programme today. Got rid of a few excercises I didn't like and added some interesting ab excercises. My lung capacity and power was pretty rubbish but, no worse than last time. Stamina has increased to the 'excellent' category which I was very pleased about. BF% has crept up to over 16% again but, I know what is to blame and its my own fault (carbs at night anyone? ;) ). Found an excellent dumbell excercise for my rear delts which didn't hurt my shoulder at all :D

I need to tighten things up and re-implement my hardcore cardio sessions. I'm also going to try 20 - 25mins cardio in the mornings before breakfast as well as everything else.

Had a good 20mins on the treadmill. shinsplints almost got me but, I actually found using an incline to alter the way my foot fell actually helped quite a lot. then did 45mins stepper and 20 laps of the pool. I've decided that 20laps should now be my minimum swim, regardless of how crowded it is.

Summer is nearly here.....time to focus with renewed enthusiasm!! :)
 
Fantastic workout today - legs and shoudlers. Changed reverse flyes for lateral rows and had no pain in my shoudler at all. Squats hurt today so, I suspect my form has improved. Have finally been persuaded to use the ball for weighted crunches and really felt that too. Used the ball for plank aswell, balancing was an intersting addition to the excercise!!

Went on to do 20mins treadmill (inclined), 30 mins cross trainer and 20 laps of the pool.

Also, discovered that BF% machine was on the blink yesterday. Was re-tested today with a new one - 14.5% (phew, thats more like it :) )
 
Thats 2 mornings in a row I've done fasted cardio now - 25mins each time. LV, its all your fault dude, I'd better see some results ;)
 
Just did cardio at the gym tonight - made me realise how long its been since I've just gone down to do cardio. Had too many weekends away lately.
60mins stepper
20mins treadmill (inclined)
15laps of the pool

As long as your diet and weight training are in check, you won't be dissapointed bro. You may want to bump it up to 30-45 min sessions once your body gets used to it.

Pushing it up to 30mins wouldn't be a problem. 45mins would mean getting up even earlier and I'm not sure I could cope with that!! I'm also doing quite a bit of cardio at the gym most days so, with any luck this will give me just the boost I need :)

Diet is pretty good (apart from Saturdays ;) )
 
Chest and triceps today. I definitly need a spotter on the bench press now. Had to hold back on weight a little to avoid failure. Increased some weights and overall had a good workout. Had to skip narrow grip presses as there was a queue for the bench. Did decline presses on the smiths machine for the first time. Very odd sensation, felt like I was slipping off the bench when I wasn't moving at all!! Weird...

Did 36mins intervals on the elliptical. No swimming as the pool was being used for a class of some sort.

I like reading your journal its always so down to earth and uplifting to me just to see a regular person acheiving their goals and gettin' with it like you do!

Thanks for the words of support Jaymie - its a relief to know that someone actually reads my diary besides me :) If anything I post here is even the tiniest bit inspirational to anyone, its worth it...

Had a couple of days off from the gym over the weekend due to a beer festival (bad idea, drank so much I can't remember a lot about Saturday although, I have a nagging feeling I may have made a fool of myself!! lol) Did back and biceps today - wasn't brilliant as it seems every station I wanted to use was busy. Finally struggled round and then did 45mins stepper.

Have been continuing with fasted cardio and, if my Tanita scales are anything to go by, it has made a massive difference! I'm going to take another reading next weekend before I post my new % because I'm sceptical that it could have been that effective! I have noticed a difference in the mirror though so, who knows.....

Just cardio tomorrow.
 
Well I bet you have made more of an improvement than you think.

So you like beer...I like coffee . Everyone says its soooo bad..pfft! But I don't think I'm gonna give it up yet!

haha! You probly had alot of fun at the festival ! Sounds fun though!

I hope you're right aboutt he progress Jaymie - we shall see on Saturday!! I think we all deserve to keep one vice - yours can be coffee, mine can be beer ;)

Did 45mins elliptical (hill intervals) last night and 15mins treadmill (last 5 minutes on a gradiant 6 incline @ 11kmph). Then swan about 10laps of the pool. It would have been more but, I was swimming with goggles for the first time and almost swallowed half the pool as I couldn't seem to time my breathing correctly!

Very nearly didn't get up for fasted cardio this morning (bed was warm, I was comfy) but, I needed the toilet and so, once I was out of bed it wasn't such a struggle! lol
 
Thanks :) some days its a struggle but, I guess thats true for everyone...

Odd workout today - weather has been really muggy lately so, the athmosphere at the gym was a bit strange. Legs and shoulders today. My form on squats was rubbish so, I'm dropping the weights next week and concentrating on technique. I'm also going to add some deadlifts but, I may do that with my back workout rather than legs.

Cardio was weird today. Did 20mins on the bike which felt like an hour so, moved onto the stepper. Again, 20 mins felt like an hour so, gave up and came home.

Shoulder is a bit sore again :( Looks like I will have to see someone and get it checked out after all. I hate injuries!!!
 
I know, I know - But, it doesn't feel sore at all today so, who knows...

Got up at 6:30am to do my fasted cardio and the batteries for my elliptical were too low for the damn thing to offer any resistance!! Put them on charge now but, had to skip the excercise :mad:

Cardio at the gym later so, I'll try to make up for it.

Almost forgot...as I couldn't excercise, I took my BF% reading a day early.....13.7%! Cardio before breakfast seems to have given me a bit of a boost! :)
