Chris's diary

I decided to cancel my spin class today. My legs are a little sore from yesterdays squats and calf raises so, I'm bringing my rest day forward. I might do an hour x-trainer later on (I have one at home) but, I may just relax and let my legs recover.
 
Today I amazed myself......I did half an hour cardio before breakfast!! Fasted cardio for the first time in my life! lol, I think I felt guilty about cancelling my spin class!!

Anyway, got down the gym this afternoon and did 60mins stepper and 30mins treadmill (shins threatened to tighten after about 10mins but, I ran through it) its awesome being able to run again....I love running!!!

Then I just chilled out in the sauna and steamroom for a bit. All in all, an EXCELLENT workout (as usual :D)
 
lol - yes it is. I am a barbell!! ;)

Chest and triceps today. Increased the weights on bench press both standard and narrow grip. My wrists suffered a bit even though my triceps were okay. I'm pretty sure that they'll catch up. Rest of the workout was good. 2 minute planks are hard though!!

45mins cardio afterwards. Was going to swim but, didn't really have the energy.

Cardio today - 60mins stepper, 35mins treadmill (still no shin splints since the weather improved..yay for summer!) Got a bit of backache towards the end of my run - still thoroughly enjoyed it though :D

Boss is taking me out for dinner tonight....I plan to eat, drink and be merry (2 cheat meals in one week - shame on me!!)
 
lol - thanks jenn, good to know I'm accountable!!

Meal wasn't as much of a cheat as I thought it would be. Nice lean steak and chips (not many of these) green salad and a side order of purple headed broccolli (man, I love that stuff!) and only 3 glasses of champagne. Mind you, they got me quite drunk as I haven't been drinking much this last month!! :D
 
Wasn't a very good workout today. Didn't get much sleep last night so, I think I was lacking the energy. Managed to do back and biceps - did 3 sets of 25 V crunches and that was it....NO CARDIO!!!! I think that is the first time I've been to the gym without doing cardio since I joined!

Going to put my feet up now and try and make up for it tomorrow :(

Nah, run amok all you want - just don't go tripping up and hurting yourself ;)

I must have been exhausted yesterday. I went to bed at 8:30pm and slept through til this morning!!! Still, that should hopefully mean I will be energised for the gym later on :)

oh thanks for allowing me to add some colour in your journal;)dont worry i can run very well..even at 12mph i wont hurt myself

10 laps of the pool

My shin splints came back today :( Its definitly the weather as it was quite chilly today. Really annoyed about it though!! I kind of made up for yesterday but, I had been hoping to do some intervals on the treadmill today.
 
According to my scales, had another good BF% reduction over the last 9 days. Currently at 15.2% - over halfway to my current goal (feels good :) )

I was so motivated that I did more fasted cardio this morning!! 20mins of intervals before breakfast!!! Legs and shoulders later....
 
Thanks Sadie - lets hope I can keep the trend going for the next few weeks! Had a good workout today - really hammered the legs and shoulders (boy will I ache in the morning!) I had nothing left for cardio so, I may not take a rest day tomorrow - I'll see how I feel in the morning.
 
Okay so, my day off from the gym went a little something like this.....20mins intervals (before breakfast again!!) Couldn't resist and went to the gym at about 1pm - 45mins X-trainer, 5mins skipping (yes, I have tentatively re-introduced the dreaded jump-rope back into my routine), 5mins on the vera-climber which was really hard work! 25mins swimming (interval laps - breastroke, front-crawl flat out, repeat)

I should take days off from the gym more often!! ;)
